Our tour with Pak Champ started off strong, and kept getting better and better. Quite a lot of driving is involved, but the time in the car flew by with Champ’s friendly conversation. He is very knowledgeable on Malaysian history and culture and kindly shared his insight with us, answering all of our questions. The tour seamlessly blended the best of Malaysia’s natural attractions with its history and culture. We saw scenic lookout points, colonial heritage sites, an exquisite Hindu temple, fed friendly monkeys, and took a magical boat ride along the river to see glowing fireflies. Adnan arrived on time and was very pleasant his car was very comfortable and clean A good start we went to the places specified on the website and all in all it was nice to be on a private tour however the following day we went on an asni tour and the guide was a lot more informative than adnan we felt his local knowledge was lacking a little. On arrival at the seafood restaurant we were encouraged to try the mantis shrimp and looking at the menu we thought each shrimp was 35 ringgit and we were rushed by the staff to decide . we opted for 4 shrimp and a rice and vegetable dish. This turned out to be very expensive 409 ringgit (about £80)!! In the end we felt that adnan should have advised us how expensive it was and the price of 35 was for 100 grams not 1 shrimp as we were rushed to choose, this was not evident. The rest of the tour was ok and the fireflies a unique experience on a row boat instead of motor boat although could have been a bit longer than 20 mins .adnans knowledge of the local flora was limited and we ended up correcting him on some points however We appreciate this was a bespoke private tour and hence more expensive than the run of the mill tours . But we thought a little overpriced for the knowledge adnan supplied. All in all a pleasant trip and adnan a nice chap but it was marred by the price of the meal . Other trips included a meal in the price with much more food. And a set menu although not the mantis shrimp. Would suggest going on a general tour for a third of the price.Fireflies tour could be bit better

Adnan was a brilliant tour guide. He made the whole trip absolutely worth it. His knowledge and explanations of everything was second to none. We did the Firefly tour with Adnan, who was very understanding of the fact that he had to 3 boys to deal with during our day together, was flexible and managed well all our needs. We were picked up in an excellent car for all 5 of us, did some great stops. Adnan was very helpful to help us adjust our itinerary, for example we discussed NOT doing the dinner which we think with our kids was a great option, we spent more time with the monkeys, then went for a tea and some snacks on a local cafe and then straight to the firefly experience in rowing boats. by 9:45 we were back in KL. Basically quality and very personalized to our needs.Great Experience and Adnan was a great Host

Although we had a downpour on the way we still had a great time. We walked around the temple first and then went to see the monkeys. Unfortunately it was raining too hard to get out of the car to feed the monkeys but we sat in the car and watched them instead. We had a lovely meal on the way to the fireflies. Then we went on a boat to see the fireflies. There are only 4 of you per boat and it is paddled by a local guide. They take you down the river and show you the bushes with fireflies on them. They take you really close to the fireflies. We would recommend taking mozzie spray with you.Amazing tour

Adnan was a great host and ensured we had a fab trip! In brief, very comfortable air con car, good driver with a trip to the local hot water springs, followed by the Temple, the lighthouse with the monkeys, a sunset dinner by the river and the enchanting fireflies:) Although the visits were in themselves amazing, it was Adnan who made the trip so easy and enjoyable - ie parking near to every venue, purchasing any tickets, ensuring we had a table by the river to see the sunset and arranging a boat for just my husband and myself instead of the usual four people. He was very polite and courteous and waited for us as long as necessary. I would highly recommend Adnan as a host. Magical Evening with Fireflies in Kuala Selangor - highlight tour!

I (Belgian) was at Kuala Lumpur for a meeting which ended earlier than expected. So I had a day off. I found a guide at 12 and he was able of coming at 16. Though he came by his own little car, due to lack of time, it was great. First a little bit of silent but when entered the car he started talking and telling stories about the history, the nature, employment, living, politics, believe experience, food and even the chairs used in the local restaurant. The main things I really liked is that he referenced a lot to his own experience as a child but also as a parent. He also made a lot of comparisons between the old good days and now. Because he told from his own perspective I learned a lot on the differences but mainly on the similarities between our countries. We are just all humans making the same mistakes and enjoying from the same things on earth and in live. And off course the fireflies where amazing. In a rowboat gently down the stream, just sitting and enjoying from the sound and light orchestra ( qoute from pak's translation of this experience), realizing the Beauty of nature. Pak adjusted the tour, without hesitation, to do Batu Caves as well as the original Fireflies tour. Pak made impromptu stops throughout our to at Temples/Shrines etc. The information he provided on the history of these places was second to none and we were not rushed once during the 6 hour tour. When we went to see the Fireflies, Pak used his influence to get only the 2 of us on a boat rather than the usual 4 people per boat. As we say, it is who you know and not what you know! Such a true gentleman, would recommend Pak to our friends, if they ever come to Kuala Lumpa. We would certainly look him up when we visit again.Tour of Batu Caves & Fireflies

We had a great trip with Povan! We scheduled at the last moment but he was flexible, and even at the very last moment we were able to adjust our timing ,which we really appreciated. Povan Shared lots of interesting historical and cultural information with us on the ride to the locations, which was really fascinating . The Hindu temple was beautiful. My family and I had a fun time experiencing the Magical fireflies evening tour with Adnan! The itinerary of this tour allowed us to take a break from the city and experience the more natural surroundings around Kuala Lumpur. Adnan drove us around in a comfortable air-conditioned car. His thoughtful planning allowed us to visit each site without feeling rushed. It was interesting to learning about the local history and culture through his perspective at each location. Some of the highlights of this tour include the visit to the hot springs where we got to dip our feet in the natural springs water, exploring inside the Hindu temple, enjoying a relaxing dinner by the river and of course the fireflies boat ride. The sight of all the fireflies blinking close to you on a rowboat with my family was definitely the most unique aspect of this tour. Overall, Adnan’s chill personality created a relaxing atmosphere for my family to enjoy the trip. He taught us a lot about the Malay culture and life in Malaysia. For our second tour with Pak Champ we went to see the Fireflies which did not disappoint. We started the tour with a drive through the country side, unfortunately the traffic did reduce our schedule and visiting time to go into a Hindu temple and the visit to the fishing village (Friday 4.30 pm is therefore not a good time!!) The temple was just catching the sun as it was going down which highlighted its pink stone and features of elephants. The next stop was the fort and sun set over the Straits of Malacca, then the silver leaf monkeys which were settling for the night. Time for a roti, eaten with fingers and enjoyed with a local coffee. The timing of our arrival for our trip down the river for the fireflies was perfect and “lucky” as we had no queues and a boat to ourselves. That these tiny beetles could preform almost like an LED light show is amazing, with the paddled boat quietly taking us around and then the call to prays from the mosque, we had a little bit of extra magic to this tour. My husband and I took the tour named "Magical evening with fireflies in Kuala Selangor" with Adnan. Before booking the tour, Adnan was able to help us customize a part of it. On the day of the tour, Adnan arrived at our hotel on time. He was not only professional but also knowledgeable about Malaysia and some global news. We enjoyed our conversation with him throughout the entire time. Adnan made the tour such a wonderful experience. My husband and I had a tasty dinner at one of the best tables in a restaurant while watching an amazing sunset. The highlight of the tour was the experience with the fireflies. The glittering creatures made every tree by the water look like a Christmas tree. My husband and I had a private boat ride and were able to get close to the trees and the fireflies. It’s one of the most romantic boat rides that I have ever had! The whole tour was about 6 hours long but time went by so quickly because we enjoyed every moment of it. Adnan is the perfect host. He collected us from hotel on time, his car was clean and very comfortable, and he himself was very informative, friendly and funny. He took us to all the places we expected to go plus more, including some hot springs which are certainly not on the tourist trail, where we chatted to some locals for a while. And to top it all off, at the end of the evening, after we had seen the fireflies which were amazing, we met a couple of young ladies who were unable to find a Grab or an Uber to take them back to KL join us on our trip back to KL, and Adnan kindly allowed them to join us and gave them a lift back to the city. I would thoroughly recommend Adnan to anyone wanting to see different side to KL which you wouldn’t otherwise have seen! Thank you Adnan!Great evening experience with fantastic guide

Siidoz was great! There was a person with a nut allergy in the group and he was able to adapt the tour to cater for this. There were also two children (11 years and 13 years). The tour was centred primarily around Chinatown with a good variety of food, both savoury and sweet. He was knowledgeable and engaging, particularly making sure the children were included. There was so much food so make sure you're hungry! Thanks!Great tour

My family and I travel internationally often and almost always we hire locals to show us around. We were excited to do the same in Kuala Lumpur as this was our first time in the city. But we were disappointed with our experience. We were still hungry after the tour. Our guide took us to four different sites and made sure he chose the most inexpensive food items on the menu. Mind you we each paid over $39. We were surprised to know that the whole tasting experience will be done within the Jalan Street or the food street which to us is not really a local eating experience. It is not worth the hype or the money. Didn’t expect

Really great tour for my first day in KL. Communication till then was handled well, pick up was punctual. The tour covered all the highlights and more. Hoopy è venuta a prenderci nel centro di Kuala Lumpur ove avevamo il nostro albergo. Puntualissima, tenendo presente il traffico di KL, nonostante fosse domenica. Il trasferimento di due ore verso Malacca è stato molto interessante perché Hoopy ci ha dato molte informazioni sulla città, su KL, sulla cultura malese (storia, usi e costumi). Giunti a Malacca Hoopy ci ha condotto per questa meravigliosa città, narrandone la storia. Siamo stati anche in angoli fuori dai classici itinerari turistici. Adnan is a very personable guide with decent knowledge and a happy disposition. His car is super comfortable with great aircon & he speaks great English. We ( 2 of us) booked a 4 hr Batu Cave Temple tour that we completed in about 1.5hrs, so he then took us to the hot springs and local waterfall. We had a superb day and I would certainly recommend him.Great day with Adnan

I made a huge planning mistake… wrong date booked!! Panic struck, some messages later all was well again. Hoopy managed to switch the whole trip at 23:00 o clock, so we could go the next morning!
