The tour was amazing even though we ran into some rainy weather. Victor was so friendly, knowledgable, and accommodating, even giving us some recommendations and tips for our visit in Porto afterwards. Joana was kind and accommodating, but felt inexperienced and unprepared as a tour guide. She didn't secure tickets to the bookstore -- a highlight of the tour we chose -- which she explained upfront was due to them being sold out and apologized. But sufficient forward planning would have made it relatively easy to have purchased them. This mishap seemed to throw her a bit, and the tour felt disorganized and unclear as to what the plan was. She did try to recover, gave us some thoughtful anecdotes and engaged effectively with our young kids for portions, but although it was overall nice to meet her and hear her story we couldn't reccomend her fully as a tour guide based on our experience. A dissapointing tour

We scheduled our Harry Potter tour with Carlos for our first full day in Porto. Carlos was so knowledgeable about Porto and its history and gave us great ideas for places to visit and to eat while we are here. It was fun to see the different elements in Porto that influenced JK Rowling as she was writing and creating HP’s world. Carlos gave us a great feel for the city and we enjoyed the whole experience so much! Wonderful introduction to Porto!

Great tour. There was three of us, myself, my wife and our ten year old daughter. The tour was a great balance between focusing on us and on her. We were all engaged throughout. It provided a great introduction to Porto. Victor has a wealth of knowledge about local culture and history, has answers to all our questions and great recommendations for local places to eat and drink. In fact we got a list from him that might need us to extend our stay by a week to cover. For Harry Potter fans this is a treat. The city is full of obvious and hidden connections to the stories and Victor did a great job of uncovering those. When you book a tour with a local you value the access they give you to things you wouldn't otherwise know or be able to do. This happened not once, not twice but three times on our tour. Once when a church was closed for visitors and he managed to get us in and we were the only ones there, once when we asked for a toilet and he not only knew where but also knew the access code to the door since it's not a public one and lastly when we skipped the queue to enter the very busy Lello Library. Hi, we last minute got changed to Victor and he was so responsive. I was so glad we got him. He is so smart and informative and patient. We wanted to try two different pastel de nata. We have two kids. I think he was with us for four hours. I don’t know how long the tour was supposed to be, but he was wonderful. Absolutely recommend!Wonderful and so responsive!

We had a fantastic family tour with Carlos. He is incredibly knowledgeable, kind and has a great sense of humor. He connected with each of us - both parents and 14/8 year old daughters, and found things they each were interested in. Our youngest was fascinated by the street art and he showed us a number of very cool pieces and explained it all. This wasn’t a street art tour but he worked it in alongside some Harry Potter stories and a general intro to Porto. Was the perfect beginning to our trip and he offered to be helpful with suggestions throughout (which he has been). I’d strongly recommend Carlos to anyone thinking of using a tour guide in Porto! Great family trip with Carlos!

We had a very enjoyable and informative time with Ines! She truly personalized our tour and was very supportive and patient for the more slower walkers (me). My daughter and I had a wonderful three hours being shown the city by Victor. He was great company and very knowledgeable. Showed us beautiful places all over Porto and the Harry Potter references were fantastic for us as fans. Had the most amazing Portuguese tart 😋 at a lovely little bakery he took us to and he sent us a list of recommended bars and restaurants. We were only their 3 days but visited a couple and thoroughly enjoyed them. Would highly recommend a private tour, nothing was too much trouble and it was brilliant to be shown the city by someone who clearly loved it. Definitely worth the cost.Highly enjoyable tour

Last week we had a wonderful Harry Potter tour with Margarida. It was one of the highlights of our trip. Margarida is knowledgeable and gives over the information in a clear and interesting way. She geared the tour toward the children in our group, as we had asked of her, and held their interest throughout. We had Margarida for a tour with 3 kids aged 10 to 15. I was so impressed that Margarida took the time to talk to all 5 of us (adults included) individually at some point during the tour. Even our older kids found Margarida fascinating and they are well past Harry Potter. I don’t want to ruin any surprises for anyone else so I will just say that there is a lot to be seen in 3 hours. Unfortunately, we were not convinced by the Harry Potter-tour with Ines. She spoke a little bit Dutch, but preferred to talk in English, which was sad for the children. The Dutch language was the main reason we chose for Ines... We visited the bookstore, and 3 places where Ines could tell us a little bit about J.K. Rowling. We just walked around in Porto, to go to these places, with no further explanation or visiting other important/nice places of Porto. When we booked, the site mentioned "a local sweet" was included. Instead, we paid for Ines her drink in a very expensive bar. After two hours, we were almost glad to stop the tour and skip the last hour. Maybe our expectations were too high with the few things about Harry Potter you can see in Porto? It was a very expensive tour for what is was... Ines was kind and friendly.not very pleased

We had an awesome time on the Harry Potter and Porto sights tour with Margarida. The weather on the day of our tour was rainy and cold but Margarida made it a fun day to remember so we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The stop at the uniform store where we all got to try on the robes used by university students in Porto was very special. This was a great way to learn about Porto. Carlos was fun and informative. He showed me things that I would never have found on my own and added little tidbits about things were passing that had cool back stories but weren’t necessarily “stops” on the tour. I got this for my girlfriends birthday as she is a big Harry Potter fan. But it ended up being a lot more than I expected. Carlos was ace throughout, giving us information and having a chat, but what was really great about it all was not only getting g the Harry Potter stuff, and local history, but he also gave us great info on local traditional foods to try, places to eat and drink, and the queue jump ticket at Lello bookstore! While thing was ace and added extra value to the rest of our trip too.So much more than i thought

Victor gave us such a nice tour of Porto focusing on the Harry Potter sites. We had our children 7 & 10 along on the tour and he was very good with them. Although it was all walking the kids did very well. We were very surprised to have so many bites and good along the way; a traditional pastry, wine tastes and ending at a wonderful table in the majestic cafe (which we weren’t expecting to actually get a table). Victor was very passionate about the architecture and showing us a few small museum galleries too. Overall, I would recommend. Wonderful Afternoon

Carlos was great and knowledgable about Porto and specifically the history of the use of tiles (so many pretty tiled buildings in Porto), local street art and Harry Potter inspired locations! We all enjoyed it very much--2 boys ages9,14 and 2 adults. We needed to shorten our tour from3 to 2 hours and Carlos was easily able to accomodate this and get so much covered! highly recommend!Fun for All Ages

Carlos was great. We were with my 6 year old and 3 month old sons. Carlos was very flexible so that the kids could have all the breaks they needed (it was very hot out). My 6 year old started the day in a bit of a bad mood but Carlos turned that around by chatting to him about his favourite pokemon and giving him a sweet little gift at the end of the tour that he found very special. In addition to that, Carlos's special membership to the library meant we didn't wait in line at all to get in (this is crucial when travelling with little ones). I would highly recommend this tour with Carlos, especially if you have kids. Carlos is a parent too and it shows. Fun morning with Carlos

Our family with a 14 and 12 year old really enjoyed our Harry Potter Tour with Carlos. He was very knowledgeable beyond just the connections of Porto with Harry Potter. He also provided interesting history, street art, restaurant and local neighborhood information. We enjoyed the relaxed informal conversational feel of the tour. Het was heel fijn om door Carlos meegenomen te worden en hem te laten leiden door de stad. Onze peuter had niet veel zin in de tour, maar Carlos had veel geduld en daardoor konden onze 12 en 9 jarigen toch de dingen zien die zij wilden: alles van Harry Potter! Door Carlos hoefden wij niet in de super lange rij te staan bij de boekenwinkel (!!!) en ook liet hij ons een heel fijn en rustig café zien waar we een heerlijke pastry hebben gegeten. Kortom: echt heel fijn, doen!Geweldige tour!

We saw all the sights related to Harry Potter and got a tour of Porto also. Margarida was kind and thoughtful and enthusiastic about Harry Potter. It was quite a bit of walking, which I enjoy and we also got to try the famous egg custard tart of Porto. We had a few missteps with not being able to go to uniform store to see the university cloaks and a change in entrance to the bookstore, but these were not a big problem and Margarida handled them well. Thoughtful guide
