Helena took me on an amazing tour of the Dock and the shipbuilding company which closed down in 1978. Very talented artists have painted graffiti on the walls. Anne is a wonderful guide! We requested a tour featuring street art and she showed us an area of Amsterdam we would never have found. We saw a variety of street art plus some art being installed. Wir haben Martens Tour im Rahmen einer Kreuzfahrt gebucht und hatten einen wunderbaren Nachmittag. Marten ist ein unglaublich sympathischer Niederländer, der mit der richtigen Portion Humor und Hintergrundwissen durch Amsterdam führt. Vorbei an Wohnvierteln, lokalen Einkaufsstraßen und natürlich den Rotlichtviertel hatten wir tolle 3 Stunden. Hervorzuheben ist auch Martens Flexibilität. Als eine Teilnehmerin unserer Tour nicht ganz so gut zu Fuß war, sind wir spontan einen kleinen Kaffee trinken gegangen. Marten konnte uns selbst zu dem Historischen Gebäude in dem das Cafe lag viele spannende Dinge erzählen. Dir Zeit verging also wie im Flug und wir danken Marten für die tolle Führung durch seine Stadt. 100% Empfehlung! Fantastischer Nachmittag!

We spent 3 hours with Sebastian on the Off the Beaten Track Tour in July 2022. He was very informative and let us know many of the secrets of the city. We walked through most of the city and saw many sites that I had never seen on any tour guide of Amsterdam. Framed current Amsterdam within historical, social, religious and environmental lenses. He gave us some restaurant recommendations and introduced us to Peppernuts. We went on this tour on our third day in Amsterdam, so we were already acquainted with some of the city. I would recommend starting your time in Amsterdam with a tour.3 Hours in the Heart of Amsterdam

We booked a private tour with Estelle. It was very kind of her to power through an unexpected heavy rain at the start of our walk. Unfortunately, she spent much of the first half of the tour complaining about the itinerary that the tour company provided, and how the company doesn't know what they're doing. We repeatedly told her that we trusted her judgment and would be more than happy to follow her recommendations, but she then still kept following the original route and criticizing it. This only stopped about 90 minutes in, after about the 5th this time came up and we insisted that she then take us on a route she deems better. It really distracted from the content of the tour and we actually had a much better experience and learned a lot more doing another small group tour on this trip. Not our best tour experience

We spent over 3 hours exploring the cultural and historical "hotspots" with Donnie. Throughout our tour he was always knowledgeable, entertaining, and energetic. His tour included special culinary and cultural stops that made the tour special. My son found particular interest in Donnie's strong connection to the comtemporary music scene. Additionally, used historical and contemporary Dutch events and experiences to help contrast Dutch and American culture and lifestyles. As a result, we better understood how the Dutch interact with each other and their environments. I had the nicest day with this sweet woman. We met at the train station and just kind of ambled through this beautiful city, which is exactly what I asked her to do. Conversation was easy and relaxed as we went through the Rembrandt House, the Red Light District, sampled local fare at a tasting bar, ate lunch and apple pie, and enjoyed the beautiful sunny day. The canals were active and colorful and everywhere AnnaMaria took me was full of music, cafes, laughter, and people just enjoying this amazing place. I would highly recommend this intelligent and knowledgeable woman for anyone that wants to see Amsterdam through the eyes of an artistic and well-rounded person. Choose her!!! Wonderful Day

Our 4th Withlocals tour turns out to be one of the best when exploring some of the local hotspots with Giovanna! She was very friendly and personable, and wanted to ensure our full stay in Amsterdam was fun and interesting, not just the 3 hours we spent with her. She was very passionate about the city and took us to places we've never been, as well as, showed us how areas we had seen before changed significantly. We went to several areas where the locals hang out versus the highly commercialized tourist areas. She was very accommodating and flexible with our requests and time. My husband and I did the "Amsterdam's Best Local Hotspots" with AnnaMaria one recent morning, and while we very much enjoyed her company, the information she gave us and the walk around the city, we felt the tour description didn't really sync with what we saw. We reviewed the details on WithLocals after the tour was finished and while we learned many things, the With Locals tour content seemed markedly different from our experience. One real stumbling block: when we reached the ferry stop, AnnaMaria was at a disadvantage because the location had been moved and no one seemed able to point us in the right direction. We eventually opted for taking an UBER to the Central Station and hopping on a ferry from there to reach the North, but that process used up a great deal of our tour time and completely changed the options for the family owned cafe and the local apple pie tasting...we did, indeed, have coffee and sweets but due to the time constraints, we weren't able to enjoy anything authentically local. AnnaMaria did her very best to give us an enjoyable morning and was helpful in getting us train tickets for an excursion the next day - we thank her very much for that. For my family’s first trip to Amsterdam, we decided to use a walking tour guide, Donnie. Didn’t really know what to expect, but we can honestly say that the experience was great. We walked the beautiful city of Amsterdam for at least 3 hours with Donnie. To our pleasant surprise, we walked a less “touristy” path which was a nice change since we got to see areas/things we probably wouldn’t have done on our own. For example we walked through Jordaan, stopped for amazing apple pie at a quaint restaurant, took a fun ferry ride to the up and coming northern district of Noord, and stopped to relax at Noordelicht restaurant. Throughout the whole experience, Donnie not only shared his in-depth knowledge of Amsterdam, but was great to talk to given his broad knowledge of world history.
