I booked a private tour with Walter for a small group sailing together on a cruise. We met at a location convenient to walk to from the ship and got started right on time. Walter explained that our route would take us through all of the major neighborhoods in Cagliari, and explained a bit about the history and culture of each area. The focus of our tour was underground Calgiari, so we spent a good amount of time beneath churches and historical sites where ancient ruins had been found, and in some cases restored. It was fascinating, and we felt that we got a great value for what we paid vs a tour from the ship. I'm sure we covered more in 2.5 hours than the much more expensive 4 hour ship tour. Note: there is a lot of walking on hilly streets, so be aware. We did have one member of our group who skipped the last part because of knee problems, but if you can manage the walking, the views are well worth it! Walter was personable and fun, and interacted with the group in a very nice way, being sure to include everyone. We would 10/10 do it again, and if we return to Cagliari we will book another tour with Walter.More than we had hoped for!

Our group of four only had one day to visit Cagliari. Walter’s tour was the perfect overview of the town. While our tour was nominally a tour of the “underground,” he gave us lots of history and insight into what was above ground too. I don’t know that we’d have discovered the sites he shared with us without his guidance. Loved having an intimate group because we could ask questions relevant to our interests and previous knowledge so easily. His tour was really a fantastic finish to our visit to beautiful Sardinia.More than just underground - great tour!

We joined Riccardo for a private tour of Cagliari while in port from a cruise ship. We are not cruise ship people and prefer to wander and learn the history and culture where we stay. Riccardo gave us enough information about local churches and crypts and general history that we felt we’d stayed in Cagliari for more than an afternoon. A thoroughly enjoyable, fun & informative tour with Francesca! Having only just arrived it was great to see the main tourist attractions & some hidden spots. I had a complicated request with over 20 people and strict time limits, and Chiara was very helpful in both shaping an experience for us and bringing in Walter to co-lead for an underground tour. We wanted more of a "tour" experience as opposed to a "hangout" experience, and Chiara rose to the occasion like a pro. We spent a great afternoon with Walter tasting some traditional Sardinian foods in all sorts of different places. Apart from the eating itself, it was also good to get the background on the different foods. The people in the bars/shops where we tasted the foods were also very welcoming, friendly and helpful. On top of that, we covered history and culture as we walked between the different venues. Small and personal tours like this are a great way to see a city - much more interaction with the guide and therefore much more informative. And you can go at a pace that suits you best. I can certainly recommend Walter as a guide and should we be back in Cagliari, we'll call on him again!Tasty food tour

While travelling solo, booked the 10 tastings tour on the first day, with Riccardo. Best decision, as Riccardo is very knowledgeable about his home town! City history, best places to go to for food icecream and drinks, nice giftshops. Following days I revisited a few ofnthe restaurants because the food was so delicious. Walter was a really lovely friendly host. The whole point of a food tour is to however, enjoy the local food. The tour is misleading with 6 eateries mentioned. We ate: 1. A pizzeta (approx €3) 2. A platter if antipasti with cold cut meats and cheese with a glass of wine each (approx €20) 3. An amaretti biscuit shop (free samples) Even then Walter said we didn’t have to go to the last stop. Very expensive for €82 per person and whilst we had a good tour of the city, this was a food tour. We actually went out for food after! Great host but not enough food

My wife and I were on a cruise with a one-day stop in Cagliari. We weren't sure how to take in all of the rich history and culinary traditions of Sardinia in such a short time. Then, we discovered Walter. He met us outside the cruise terminal gate, and and drove us to the highest of the seven hills surrounding Cagliari, where there was a walled-in city that dated back to the Roman era. We then proceeded to walk downhill along cobblestone streets and charming alleys enjoying the local fare, and even strolled through an open air market where we sampled many of the local foods. The price we paid meant that Walter paid for the food and even the wine that we sampled. We covered about seven miles of walking, eating our way down the hill. Of course, we were fine with the walking, and Walter had tailored this trip to our tastes. For those that want to walk less, he would assuredly tailor the day to your whims. We had the absolute best day with Francesca. It felt like spending a day with an old friend. The tour itself in terms of food was great - we were really excited to try some typical Sardinian foods and Francesca’s selections did not disappoint. We toured the local market and enjoyed fresh oysters, stood in front of a typical cured meat counter and enjoy wine and locally cured meats, stopped for coffee and finally finished the day for a tasting some some really traditional foods - including donkey! We toured the market and had wonderful food at several locations, then we went to Castello and several other historical sights learning about the history of the area while also tasting more wonderful local dishes.
