Maria is a knowledgeable and friendly guide. We learned a lot about the artists and specific images we had been walking by all week. There is so much graffiti and paintings in Valencia. Choosing what to view and discuss is a challenge. We became more observant after the tour. We would like to know more about the relationships between those who paint images and those who paint script and initials only. Also, we also want to know more about those who choose own walls to paint and those who are paid by property owners to paint on their gates and walls. Great context for art we see

This was the perfect way to start my visit to Valencia! Maria was such a lovely, knowledgeable guide. She clearly knows and loves the city well, and I really enjoyed hearing some of the history and the different kinds of architecture. Not to mention, all of the spots Maria chose for food were fabulous! Great variety of local places and stands at the central market. Cannot recommend this tour with Maria highly enough! Do it!! Maria was very flexible after I booked the wrong tour initially. My wife and I toured around the Canyamelar - Cabanyal districts for 2 and a half hours. Although we know something of the area, having visited several times before, we were introduced to lots of new aspects of the area, from historical details to architectural examples, street art, museums and restaurants. Maria was super knowledgeable about the history of Valencia with laminates to back up her information in pictorial fashion. The best part of the tour was diving into multiple buildings that we thought were private or at the very least charged for entrance! Her knowledge of architecture was encyclopaedic. With only two days in Valencia we wanted a family friendly tour to show us some of the key and hidden sights of the area. Maria was wonderful with the kids and showed us alot of sights in the city that we wouldn't have otherwise stumbled across. We learned about some of Valencia's traditions, explored a historic bakery, and learned about the street art amongst other interesting topics. She was great with our girls as well who where 5 and 7. We did two tours with Maria: a general guide around the centre of Valencia taking in (amongst others): Central Market; Silk Exchange; the palace housing the ceramics museum as well as a number of churches. The second, foodie tour focussed mainly around the narrow streets of the northern central part of the city (Barrio del Carmen) taking in on the way the Cathedral and Basilica, Parroquia de San Nicolas and Torres de Serranos. We thoroughly enjoyed Maria’s description of the buildings as well as some of the city’s history. We had three food stops taking in, amongst others, a small former pharmacy turned into a barInsightful tour, lovely lady

Maria took 15 of us (all students learning Spanish) on a walk around the city. The feedback from the students was fantastic! We decided to do a last minute visit to Valencia whilst on holiday. I contacted Danny through the “withlocals” site. He got back to me quickly and we agreed a meet. We had a great couple of hours! The tour of the history of the city was interesting without being too dry for the teenager. It was a brilliant way to explore the city on our short visit. Danny was engaging, humorous and well informed, even adapting the route to encompass a stop for chocolate y churros as requested by the teenager! Overall a brilliant experience.
