When we had a mixup with our originally scheduled guide, Genny stepped in for us at the last minute, and we are so glad she did! Sure, this isn't the cheapest way to see Venice, but our time was limited and we thought it was very worthwhile to have such a lovely personalized tour of just the parts of Venice we were most interested in, rather than waste a lot of precious time trying to figure it out on our own. Giada provided a wonderful introduction to Venice, taking us off the beaten path to explore the usually "unseen" places. She pointed out little historical and cultural details dotted throughout the local areas. She was fantastic with our three-year-old daughter, making sure she was told stories and seeing things that would interest her. Claudia was knowledgeable and friendly, sharing with us topics from how Venice manages rising sea levels and its sinking to its history, art, architecture and urban planning. She did so in a way which was engaging, humorous at times, and with reference to actual sites so it was not dry and cerebral. She was energetic and committed throughout the 2.5hr+ tour despite being under the weather and having to bear with the heat, the walk and the distance. We were a party of four and I observed she made a point to engage all of us regardless of age. I’d book her tour again if another opportunity should arise.A Perfect Ten

Sarah was great. We did an off the beaten trail. She used to do mask workshops so she showed us some genuine shops and explained how they’re made and the significance. We got to ask her lots of questions about life in Venice which was interesting. We wanted to avoid the crowds and she shared her old neighborhood. You could tell she loved it. I would have liked to contact Sarah ahead of the trip and talk more about the plan as I would have made some alterations based on the price. My e-mail was wrong so communication with the company was a struggle and they couldn’t correct it.daily life through a local’s eye

This tour was just what we wanted. After spending a day wandering in Venice on our own, Claudia gave us a tour of areas away from the tourists. We were able to see how people in the city live, learn about the history of Venice, and appreciate how unique this place is. Claudia is a cheerful, knowledgeable, truley born Venezian, who guided us through her town on a Saturday morning. It felt not like a guide, who gives away the prepared story for another time, more as a friend, who is strolling with us through her quartier on a sunny day. We chatted about Venice becoming Venice, the structure of it, advantages and disadvantages of this unique place. The 2.5h passed by like nothing and we will know always be aware of Niklaus last rest, or maybe only tiny parts of him. In addition we will keep an eye on bell-tower forms and referring dates. We gained a competent inside of Dorsoduro, which means 'heard torso'. She left us at Scuola di San Rocco, which was the perfect and mind-blowing ending of a great tour. We spent a wonderful Sunday morning strolling around Dorsoduro with Marzia. She met us off the boat, bought us coffee and then we walked around in the peace and quiet learning about the area and Venice itself. There were some history lessons, cautionary tales, insights about Venice today and lots of smiles. Marzia was charming and if I lived in Venice, we’d go for walks all the time - so you should definitely go for a walk with Marzia too if you have the opportunity!A lovely, charismatic Sunday stroll

Claudia took us on a walking tour of the Dorsoduro area of Venice. She was lovely from the start and very knowledgeable. It was great to talk about Venice with a local guide who became more of a friend as the tour went on. We have visited Venice many times but we saw new things and learnt a lot from Claudia. My wife and I booked a private tour of Dorsoduro with Giada and it was a highlight of our trip! We asked Giada to take us to a few specific places, and she was very accommodating. She also was extremely knowledgeable of Venice and the entire area. We learned so much and truly loved the time with Giada. Federico was an awesome guide. We had the feeling that he customized the tour around our areas of interest rather than just repeating a standard script. He was friendly and able to answer all of our many questions in detail. Federico also had a good sense of humor which helped to make the historical tour fun and engaging. It helps that he is a local of Venice and cares deeply about the history of the area. Federico had also great communication so we could find him easily and also was patient and understanding when we ran a few minutes late due to a delay of the public transportation. The title says it all. Time spent with Giada is an absolute delight. Her style and approach to guiding is very empathetic. Whilst relaying lots of fascinating information about every site visited, she remained conscious of what we might have seen previously, and reacts accordingly.
