Pietro took us on a truely immersive tour of the Forum Romanum and the Colosseum. His knowledeg, his entertaining stories and the help of the ipad really brought the past alive. The tour was also really well planned and ended on an absolute highlight, looking down in the arena of the colosseum. Best tour we have done, by far! Pietro was kind and entertaining and he kept the kids engaged while being super patient with their questions. Paolo was easily the best tour guide we’ve ever had. He was personal, charismatic, and ready to assist our needs. We LOVED his stories. In the middle of our tour, we mentioned that our daughter loved mythology and Paolo lit up with happiness. He proceeded to tell us about the entire mythology behind the Roman Forum, relating every detail to what we were seeing at the time. Our tour guide Paolo was the best! Very knowledgeable and friendly. Answered each and every question we had. No matter how silly. He joked with us and informed us of several facts that we did not know. He was packed full of so much good information. We are so grateful and thankful for him and the way he elevated our experience at the colosseum. Highly recommend him. We are from the United States and were worried about the language barrier but Paolo spoke English very well and his communication skills were top notch. We enjoyed a wonderful tour of the Colosseum, Roman Forum, and surrounding area with Pietro! He was very knowledgeable and we learned so much in the tour. We loved being able to freely ask questions and give thoughts during the tour and talk with him about ancient Roman times. Pietro was engaging and with teens and a 5yo he made it interesting for all. He was able to paint us a great visual representation of the area and we all went away with a greater understanding and appreciation of the Colosseum, Roman Forum, and area. If you are on the fence about doing a private tour I highly recommend doing it! It was so much more intimate and enjoyable than a large tour group. We were able to take our time and make the tour more personalized and thus memorable for our family. We are still talking about what we learned and telling others about this tour! Pietro Paolo showed us the Colosseum and Forum. There wasn’t a question he couldn’t answer - from architecture to history. He kept a great pace and tailored the visit very subtly to our wishes - super attentive. He intertwined the use of great photos and diagrams from his iPad throughout the tour and was very good at invoking the atmosphere of the place. Paolo organised a phenomenal tour of the Forum and the Colosseum for one adult, a history-buff 12 year old, and a superhero-fan 9 year old. He managed to keep us all entranced for 3 hours, in high heat and big crowds. Paolo had put a great deal of thought into how to run the tour, and adapted along the way as the kids asked him for story after story of Rome. He was personable and patient, and very understanding about the kids need for toilet stops and shade. I would recommend Paolo's tours without reservation. He could answer every question we had about Roman history and made the experience really fun as well as educational. Incredible tour - couldn't be happier

we met Pietro exactly where and when he said he would be. The tour gave us access to parts of the colosseum that we would not have been able to view and also allowed us easy entry and to skip the long lines. Of particular interest was the training of the gladiators and the lives that they lived, albeit short for many. Very knowledgeable, prompt and polite.

Paolo has an amazing knowledge of Roman history and a wonderful personality to lead tours. He was very friendly and conscientious of our speed (we were a bit slow with jet lag) and always made sure that we were going at a comfortable pace. His knowledge of Ancient Rome (and also more modern history) was fantastic - he answered every question we had, and posited some of his own theories and local customs. It brought Rome alive for us. Paulo was a fantastic guide and I couldn't recommend him too highly. From the point of booking, his communication was excellent, clear and very helpful indeed. We booked Paulo for a tour of the Colosseum, wanting to gain a better historical understanding than we might have done from the audio guide or the boards around the site. And we had a much, much better experience than we could possibly have hoped for - Paulo really is a passionate historian and incredibly knowledgeable about all of Rome. We had already covered so much of the history even before we walked through the archway and onto the Arena floor and Paulo made it completely come to life for us as we entered the Arena. He answered our questions brilliantly - the history, the architecture, the nature of the games, the animals, the gladiators, the emperors and the citizens and so much more AND his many pictures and historic images helped to further illuminate and enhance the experience. I think our tour over-ran a bit as Paulo was happy to answer all of our questions in great detail and with true depth of knowledge, being very generous with his time and knowledge and very patient with all our questions. If you are looking for a guide who will bring historic Rome to life, is a font of fascinating information, as well as being charming and helpful - pick Paulo for your tour!.Fantastic guide, highly recommended

We greatly enjoyed our morning tour of the Colosseum and Roman Forum with Paolo. He clearly communicated our meeting spot, was punctual and very patient with our family throughout the tour. He helped a couple family members avoid stairs and escorted them accordingly. Most of all he took his time, allowed us to stop and take as many photos as we wanted, and answered all our questions.
