What you can expect

Peggy Guggenheim Collection in Venice - d2653bad0f646c5bdf14101b2fc8753f

Join me for a unique cultural experience inside the Peggy Guggenheim Collection. Nestled in a lush garden along the Grand Canal, this iconic museum was once Peggy’s home — and now houses one of Europe’s finest collections of modern art.

Begin in the sculpture garden, where each work sparks conversation and curiosity. Then step into the palazzo’s intimate spaces, where Peggy once hosted artists, collectors, and creatives from around the world. As you explore, hear stories of her extraordinary life and get personal insights into works by Picasso, Pollock, Kandinsky, and more.

We’ll end our visit on the terrace with a breathtaking view of the Grand Canal — the perfect moment to reflect on how art, history, and beauty meet in this magical city.

Giacomo is very knowledgeable about Venice and we enjoyed speaking with him. We visited two restaurants (one a Gelateria) and had great food/wine/gelato. He took it slow (we had just arrived and were tired), adjusting to what we needed. I recommend the tour!Interesting and Delicious Tour!

We recently had the pleasure of joining a food tour with a local in Venice, and it was truly one of the highlights of our trip. Giacomo was not only incredibly knowledgeable about the city’s history and culture but also passionate about its culinary traditions. We visited several hidden gems and every stop featured something delicious. We especially loved learning the stories behind each dish and how they connect to Venetian life. Giacomo made us feel like locals, introducing us to places we never would’ve found on our own. It felt more like exploring with a friend than being on a tour. If you're looking to experience Venice through its food and meet a truly passionate local, I highly recommend this tour!Amazing Food Tour Experience in Venice!

Very good food tour even in extenuating circumstances where there was a football match on the same afternoon, as well as a tall ship in near St Marks Square, so a couple of the usual places he might have taken us were completely full. His knowledge of Venice and places to go were really good and helpful. Thank you for a good tour. Excellent food tour

Giacomo knows all. He customized my 3 day visit to the Venice Achitecture Biannale, all needed logistics to get around town, and how to beat the crowds. My tour certainly was custom and rewarding and expensive - but worth it. He is prompt, personnal, logical, and has many private contacts. This is yet another city where I feel I have made a friend and I look forward to returning. If you are looking for a high level of expertise, look no further.Modern Architecture in Venice and the Biennale

In addition to being very pleasant and easy to be with, Giacomo provided our seeing Carlo Scarpa's touches in the unlikeliest of places, access to "behind the scenes" designs that are so thoughtful, and an afternoon of architectural and artistic education. I've been to Venice a dozen times and had never even noticed the Olivetti showroom.Carlo Scarpa in Venice - a unique architect!

What a treat! Giacomo shared his knowledge of the Architecture Venice Biennale--past and present. He carefully planned our tour allowing us to visit this year's highlights, introduced us to the vision and themes of this year's exhibition and discussed current issues in global architecture. A bonus was seeing the old naval shipbuilding area of Venice. His commentary truly made this visit memorable! This was a delightful tour, particularly once you have already visited the typical highlights of Venice. Venice Biennale 2023: Architecture Exhibition

My tour with Giacomo was a perfect way to explore Venice. He took me off the beaten path, told fascinating stories that connected a art, history and architecture and helped me understand the historic influences which make Venice such a unique and incomparable city. In addition to all I learned, he was great company and I enjoyed my time enormously with him. I feel so fortunate to have enjoyed such a memorable day with someone so knowledgable and kind.Contemporary Architecture in Venice

Giacomo was a wonderful guide - knowledgeable, engaging and flexible. We asked him to take the lead on which pavilions to visit at the Architecture Biennale and his selection was fascinating , combining some of the most interesting pavilion architecture as well as exhibitions for this year's Biennale. He helped us understand what was special and unique in a very accessible way. Venice Biennale 2023: Architecture Exhibition

More about me

Welcome!

I’m a passionate explorer of Venice’s timeless beauty. After nearly 40 years as an English teacher, I’ve turned a lifelong love for this extraordinary city into a new adventure—offering authentic, personalised tours that go far beyond the usual landmarks.

I’ve called Venice home since 1987, and I’m still constantly amazed by its hidden corners, untold stories, and subtle details most visitors never notice. As a volunteer with FAI (the Italian National Trust), I’m deeply connected to the city’s history, architecture, and traditions—and I love sharing that passion with curious travellers.

Whether you’re intrigued by Renaissance secrets, contemporary art at the Biennale, or simply want to wander off the beaten path, I’d love to guide you through the real Venice—the one that locals cherish. With me, you’ll discover more than just sights; you’ll uncover meanings, moments, and memories.

Let’s explore Venice together, one story at a time.
