Angelo was the MOST AMAZING food tour guide. He toured our family of 5 including teen & young adult kids. He was very flexible trying to work with the holiday and early closures of his favorite restaurants. He reversed the tour to be sure we would make it to all the places he wanted to take us to in order to get a full exposure to many different foods & neighborhoods. Angelo was so incredibly knowledgeable with the history of the food choices he'd made too. Every step he was sharing the history of Lisbon and the food. He chose restaurants that had friendly staff and the freshest tasting foods. We walked to different neighborhoods to really get a taste of what Lisbon has to offer. He was fun, informative and fully exposed us to food we would not have otherwise tried. Even after the tour he followed up with a message with reasons he chose the food he did and listed out all the restaurants for us to go back to enjoy again. He also gave us a full listing of options close to our hotel to enjoy and we chose two of them and were blown away with food. If you're looking for a tour guide that will be very thorough, extremely informative with lots of history and a great follow up to guide you the rest of your stay, choose Angelo!! Sofia was an amazing guide through the local cuisines and snacks of Lisbon. If you’re here in the summer - ask for the land snails (Caracois)!! I didn’t think I would ever enjoy them but they were my favorite. Our vegetarian had no want for food either - that tomato soup was unbelievable. Sofias love of history and of our shared humanity created such an atmosphere for honest and thoughtful conversation that we will remember for a long time. There was enough food for all of us to eat and be full (with lots of leftovers). This is a must for foodies and Sofia is one of the best we’ve ever had. A delicious feast of food and conversation

Camila had a tough group to work with: a multigenerational group, most of whom had just arrived in Lisbon after an overnight transatlantic flight! But she did an excellent job! We loved Sofia and our food/history tour in Lisbon. Sofia was kind and knowledgeable and took us to places we would never have known to go to ourselves. We had the pleasure of meeting Alphe when we signed up for the “ Culinary Kickstart Tour: Lisbon” with six tastes. We thought this would be a casual stroll, stopping at a few places for a taste in different places while having a little chat. Instead, it kicked off with a pithy lesson on the history of Lisbon at a couple stops (sans food) on the way to our first “taste.” Alphe was very knowledgeable and filled with facts! We finally sat down to our first taste about 45-60 min into the tour, and had all 6 tastes at the same restaurant. I think it was because we scheduled our tour for 7p on a Sat - we learned many stop-by places for authentic tastes tend to close by then on weekends. So, we had a mini-meal at the end at an authentic place for all our tastes and had the most fun getting to know Alphe better (after all that history!). He was a very gracious and endearing host! Very informative

We had a fantastic, delicious and informative tour with Angelo! He is really knowledgeable about the foods we tasted and the history behind them, and full of information about Lisbon and Portugal. Angelo took his time with us and the pace of the tour was leisurely -- we stayed longer than the 2 hours. Afterward he sent us a recap of everything we learned, plus tips and suggestions for other places to visit. The price of the tour was really reasonable for the experience. Ângelo was fabulous! I would give him 20 stars if I could. I cannot imagine a better way to start seeing/experiencing Lisbon. Ângelo's "Lisbon Culinary Kickstart" tour was perfect in every way. He met us at our hotel. His tour was very well-organized and thought-out. He was very knowledgeable, engaging and personable. He took us to several interesting and beautiful places. He gave us a global view of Lisbon, as well as some interesting/relevant history that wasn't too dense. And the food stops were spot-on. We tasted traditional Portuguese food/drink and culturally diverse food. He's a self-described foodie and has excellent taste. Ângelo shared our tour itinerary with us, including links to the restaurants/cafes, which was very thoughtful. He goes above and beyond for his clients. He even sent me restaurant recommendations when I asked him a week after our tour. I recommend that everyone take Ângelo's tour on their first day in Lisbon, after recovering from any jetlag. If I go to Lisbon again, I might even take his tour again!Best Way to Start Exploring Lisbon!

We spent a lovely Sunday afternoon exploring some of David's favourite eating/drinking spots in Lisbon. As a native of this wonderful city, he was able to show us some out-of-the-way eateries where very traditional plates are created and served; from Bifanas, to Pasteis de Nata, to Portugese Fried Green Beans. As we wound our way through the narrow streets, David clearly explained the history and traditions of Lisbon. Ending our culinary explorations with some delicious home made gelato was the "icing on the cake"! David's passion for Lisbon and food was very evident and we highly recommend David as a knowledgeable and entertaining food guide.
