Helena is the most loving friendly open and caring person that we ever had the pleasure to enjoy a tour with. She took care of our big group and made sure all our needs and wishes in the tour were fulfilled! She is a true local expert with a lot of knowledge and I could’ve not asked for a better guide 100% would recommend Helena and would love to have another experience with her. The only small improvement which has nothing to do with her as a guide but more the agenda of the tour would be to maybe go inside less shops and more restaurants and bar style locations.also I think the price is a little bit high for what you get in food value in the end.The most lovely guide I ever had

We really enjoyed our food tour with Helena. She was a super nice lady who we enjoyed spending the afternoon with. She was knowledgeable and easily answered all questions. She knows a lot about the local history and shared it with us. She even accommodated my super picky niece, who doesn't like to try new things by finding a chocolate muffin she would eat. If I ever go back to Porto, I will look up Helena again. Highly recommend! Great afternoon with Helena!

Great introduction to the city as it was our first day of the holiday. Miguel took us to old established family run businesses for our food tour. Good variety of food offerings, both savoury and sweet accompanied by porto wines and drinks. I liked that he introduced us to Porto's food culture and typical foods of the regions. He also gave us many recommendations for places to visit and where to eat. Great intro to Porto's food culture

We zijn een weekend met vriendinnen in Porto. We hebben niet echt een programma, willen vooral gezelligheid, lekker eten en drinken. Een foodtour lijkt ons wel wa. Het bleek het hoogtepunt van het weekend te zijn! Miguel heeft ons super leuke ambachtelijke delicatessezaakjes laten zien! Lekkere port gedronken, de beste pastel de Nata ooit en super lekker lokaal fruit en kaas op de foodmarkt laten proeven! En … en afgesloten op het gezelligste terras van Porto! The food tastings were based on location more than a logical progression but it was nice to end at a bar overlooking the river.Fun with food

We loved the food tour. While visiting Porto with my family we decided to take a food tour. I wish we had done the tour the day we arrived. Miguel was great. The tour was a little about food, a little about Porto Portuguese culture, a little history and a little sight seeing. Plenty of wine and discovering some out of the way places. Miguel and I shared musical tastes and favorite bands over Port at our last stop, while looking out at the Duro River with the Luis I Bridge in the fore ground, a beautiful setting. I feel as though I made a new friend.Do the food tour first.

Helena did an amazing job and we had a delightful experience. Even our daughters who are picky eaters said that this tour was one of the best we had on our trip. This is NOT a review of a tour with Helena but an opinion of Helena as a person. On the morning of our scheduled tour I had a medical emergency that required an ambulance ride to a local hospital. Helena could have walked out right there since the tour wasn't going to take place. Yet she didn't do that. She took the time to contact my son back home in NY and told him what had happened and what hospital I was being taken to. She was there when the ambulance took me away and later spoke with my son inquiring about my health status. She made a stressful situation less so and for that I'm so grateful and so is my family. Thanks Helena!!!AWESOME PERSON HAS TO BE A GREAT GUIDE.

Helena was a great tour guide. It was a very pleasant contact both in advance and during the tour. We traveled with 16 entrepreneurs and despite the large group, the tour still felt very personal. Helana waited for us in the hotel lobby and customized the tour according to the interests of the participants. Helena arrived at our hotel on time to pick us up, we were immediately at ease with her friendly personality. The drive to the Douro Valley was both scenic and very interesting, we stopped for coffee and scenic photo opportunities. The boat trip in Peniche was relaxing and the scenery beautiful followed by a very enjoyable lunch. The highlight was then the visit to the small family wine estate Quinta Seara d’Ordens, a beautiful winery, off the beaten track, stunning wines and a very entertaining tour. My husband and I had such a fun afternoon on our food tour in Porto with Miguel. Recently we arrived in Porto from a cruise and in place of the standard cruise excursions we tried something different with Miguel. We made the correct choice. Had an excellent tour with Jorge - despite very heavy rain! We started in the Mercado do Bolhão with a glass of vinho verde and a cheese platter followed by some beef carpaccio and tartare. Jorge was very friendly and informative about Portuguese food and life, showing us sights we would otherwise not have seen, such as the railway station and making suggestions for other visits. We went to a local restaurant for a sandwich made with slow cooked pork that melted in the mouth and finally another local restaurant for a pastel de Nata. Delicious! On the morning of our scheduled private food tour, we set out from our hotel to the meet point and not only did it start raining, but it was hailing. Yet there was Miguel on time and ready to take us on a food journey of Porto. Luckily the rain (and hail) subsided and Miguel took us to places we never would’ve walked into by looking from the outside. Each place was amazing and Miguel shared with us some of the nuances of the food we were tasting, and the establishments. This was definitely one of the highlights of our trip to Portugal. We spent a beautiful afternoon with Miguel. He had an infection passion for his city of Porto with a tremendous knowledge of the whole area and beyond. We took up most of his recommendations for food, wine and places to visit. All fabulous with the best being lunch at Lage Senhor do Padrao, in Matosinhos. Will have to come back to do the rest and say hello to Miguel. A man with a generous heart. Amazing man
