We had a truly wonderful few hours with Ihor who took us onto the Oslo Fjord visiting the islands of Hovedøya, Lindøya and Gressholmen. All islands were diffierent; (i) Hovedøya had ruins of an ancient monastery, WW2 bunker and cannons, (ii) Lindøya had over 300 brightly coloured (red, green and yellow) cabins where City folk escape to for a break and (iii) Gressholmen was more of a ‘wild’ island that had less development. This island was our favourite because of the stunning views down the Oslo Fjord and back up to the City. Ihor is a lovely guy, with a lot of amazing stories and his knowledge of Oslo is incredible. The other thing that made the trip is Ihor’s passion for Oslo and this really was engaging. If you’re looking to do something different away from the hustle and bustle of the City then this tour is definitely for you. Just make sure you check the weather and wear the right clothing and footwear - this is a must even if you think otherwise. Oslo Fjords Island Tour
Had a wonderful tour with Tanya. Very pleasant and knowledgeable. She shared many good restaurant and museum recommendations.
We did a tour with Rodrigo and had a great time. He was very knowledgeable about Norway and the city. He tailored our day to go to less touristy places, which we loved! Highly recommend booking with him!Rodrigo was awesome!
having been to Oslo a couple times before, i wanted a fully customized experience and chose Rodrigo from three local guides after sharing what i was looking for and what i'd already eaten and seen. he was on time, very easy to walk and talk with, and able to pivot based on what menus offered on the day and find what we were looking for. he arranged a progressive cheese tasting for me, took me to family owned places (yay, support local businesses!) and neighborhoods I would've never discovered on my own, plus shared history, culture, and personal experience. this is why I use WithLocals. time passed like lightning, and i was sad that three hours were over. don't hesitate to book Rodrigo if you're looking for a kind-hearted person and genuinely knowledgeable secret spot guide :) secret spots, storytelling and smiles
Decepcionante
Ihor was wonderful. While most businesses were closed on New Year’s Day he found plenty of sights to show us and we were able to get a sense of the city and to have a list of things to do the rest of the trip. Perfect amount of history and local information with recommendations for food during our stay as well. Can’t wait to come back! Wonderful way to explore Oslo!
We had a lovely walk with Tanya. She showed us the most beautiful parts of Oslo and told us about the interesting history too. The best of the best
We had such a great time with Ihor! He showed us different parts of the city with focus on architecture and what it's like to live and work in Oslo. We journeyed through time all the way from the days of Kristiana to the new Barcode area. It was also great to hear about his experience being an immigrant in Norway. Great Introduction to Life in Oslo
Tanya Lisa gave us a fabulous tour. She customized our tour to give us the places we wantes to visit and then showed us so much more. She dilled us with interesting stories and was swnsitive to our wishes. Fabulous Tour
We had an amazing day with Ihor and touring the city! He was very passionate and knowledgeable. It was a pleasure to explore and learn about so many things. We would highly recommend anyone to tour with him! Amazing Experience and a lot of knowledge!
We had a great time on our food tour with Ihor. He’s very passionate about history, art, and architecture, and we got a glimpse into that on our tour. It was a nice mix of sightseeing, a bit of history, and of course food! We tried some fantastic cured meat, a traditional Norwegian waffle, some wonderful salmon sushi, and some fish stew and traditional Norwegian meats. We took this tour on our first evening in Oslo, and it was a nice introduction to the city!Fun food tour with historical tidbits
Lisa is a fantastic guide, she loves her history and it shows . She will make your only day in Oslo a great time and will give you advise to other places to go and eat after the tour . Great experience

Tanya Lisa was prompt, prepared & organized

Rodrigo was an excellent guide. Very knowledgeable and personable. We highly recommend!Excellent guide
My wife and I had a great private tour with Tanya Lisa on a Sunday afternoon. She was promptly on-time; started off at warp speed and never let-up. She gave us a quick orientation overview, and even from the outset was listening to our questions and wants. We then went on a whirlwind tram tour of the major sites we wanted to see, getting far more done than I could have imagined. She was terrifically knowledgeable about the city -- historically, artistically, physically, and functionally -- and gave us a plethora of recommendations and suggestions for touring, shopping and eating. All in, we would highly recommend Tanya Lisa. High-speed high-quality highlights tour
we had a great time learning from an educated man about the lovely City of Oslo - he took it at our pace and we saw everything we wanted to- it helped that the weather was so perfect- but all 4 of us chatted to Rodrygo and everyone of us were impressed with the experience great info
The tour was a great mix of food, history and culture. We tried different types of local delicacies and unique desserts while learning the history behind each food item. Tanya knows Oslo as the back of her hand and shared great recommendations on where to go during our stay while ensuring we were making the most of the tour. Exploring Oslo with a local
Greatly enjoyed our Oslo tour with Ihor. A comprehensive tour with interesting facts and stories of how Oslo has evolved over the years. Especially enjoyed Ihor pointing out places a tourist may not think to explore, like the library! Also took advantage of his food tips. Thank you, Ihor, for a very enjoyable and informative day in Oslo!Local view of Oslo
70 minutes into a walk (with an unexpected dead end in a military base, a detour, a locked stairway and Tanya questioning the honesty of a kind hearted local) we had a taste of Norwegian proteins.
Tanya was knowledgeable with regards to Norwegian culture, customs, and architecture, but failed at working with us and reading obvious signals that we wanted to pivot her (poorly-choreographed) tour in other ways. We even outright asked for changes which she chided away.
We were a group of four (which included 3 adults and an 9yr old). At multiple times during the tour we requested to pivot or make stops, and she was abrasive, dismissive or steering in alternate directions. She ordered and pushed food on us which we clearly had no interest in further consuming. Simply put, if a group has tried a food and doesn’t want to consume it further, don’t go into a diatribe about how Norwegians don’t waste food… we didn’t want more sour cream soup, or molded sliced beef.
I’ve been on 6+ food tours in other European cities (within the last 4 years), all with positive experiences, and all at costs lower than this (per person). I even discussed other tour experiences with Tanya and she reflected that “people do not typically take food tours in Oslo.” Okay… then why are you representing to be an expert in doing just that?
I wanted to just forget about the experience. Write it off… but it’s been bothering me 900€ and a week later.
I honestly think that if you are an older group and are doing an architecture or city tour you would have a fine, educational time with Tanya.
That said, I don’t think there is merit in her giving a food tour.
Guide and food… not for us
Rodrigo introduced us to this wonderful city with an interesting and informative walking tour. His demeanor was professional,
and his impressive knowledge of the city and its history was evident. Additional suggestions of a couple of related films to view and places to visit were much appreciated. It was time well spent and entirely delightful! We're so glad to have decided on doing this tour with Rodrigo.Fabulous introduction to Oslo!
Wir hatten voll gepackte interessante zwei Stunden mit Ihor.Informativ, kurzweilig, abwechslungsreich
Our family of five spent our first afternoon in Oslo with Ihor, and it was the best way to learn about the city and plan out our stay. He took us through many neighborhoods and imparted his knowledge of history, architecture, and politics, and interspersed the tour with restaurant recommendations, too. We highly recommend!Beat way to learn about Oslo
We have traveled all over the world and think Rodrigo was one of the best tourguides ever! He not only knew the most important information to share, but provided the best organized tour for the 6 of us. It was a perfect day in Oslo and we are grateful to Rodrigo for showing us the city.Rodrigo is the BEST
Ihor was a terrific guide - very knowledgeable about Oslo and great company as we walked around the city. Highly recommend!Excellent tour!
We had an excellent two-hour walking tour of Oslo with Rodrigo. He was interesting, knowledgable, and friendly. It's always fun to meet someone who lives in the city that one is visiting, and hearing Rodrigo's personal story of how he got to Oslo was a treat. Excellent and personable tour guide
Ihor asked me in advance what I wanted to see and tailored the walking tour appropriately. He met me right on time in front of the Cathedral and we walked to some sections that are historical but maybe not tourist stops. He explained the context of these stops. He knows lot about Norway, 🇳🇴 not just Oslo. We ended at City Hall and he gave me ideas for good restaurants along the way. I would recommend using Ihor as I had a fabulous 3 hours. Thank you, Ihor. Fabulous!
Ihor designed an interesting wall, gave a nice explanation, was very friendly, knew a lot. Very nice and interesting experience
Ihor gave my adult son and I a great 3 hour tour of Oslo. He's friendly, knowledgeable and speaks English very well. I'd definitely recommend him Ihor is a great guide
Wonderful experience walking around Oslo with spectacular one of a kind food experiences. Norergian food with Oslo overview
This tour was interesting - some of the local food was great and some not to my taste, but I’m glad we tried it all! The tour guide had a lot of information, and she was able to get some of the locals to tell us interesting facts, so that was great. The portion sizes were HUGE - way too much food to eat for a tasting tour. We didn’t even go to dinner that night because we had so much. I would recommend that the tour be a bit more curated and not include a stop at the grocery store, but otherwise it was a nice afternoon. The most interesting stop was at Salmon restaurant. You learn more about the salmon farming industry there and the different salmon preparations were amazing!Decent Tour
On this tour you get to eat Norwegian specialties and see the most important sights! Thank you Tanya! We have enjoyed it very much!We enjoyed this tour!
Tanya was very knowledgeable and helpful, my short time in Oslo was well spent with her. The tour does just hit the highlights so plan on returning to places of interest. Great guide
