I did 3 days of photo workshops with Julio - and I wish I could have done more. Julio arrived prepared with suggested itineraries for each session, including different locations and lighting scenarios as well as composition and technical exercises. He had reviewed my photography in advance to ensure the workshop would help me refine and improve my skills. His enthusiasm for photography, for the city of Madrid and even helping me practice Spanish made our 3 days fly by. His workshop also feels like a cultural and historical tour of Madrid as he familiarized me with this beautiful, lively city. It was such a pleasure spending time with him. Julio Cesar was an incredible guide with a load of knowledge about Madrid and the streets we were walking. He also taught me some new techniques to add to my photography!! My husband also accompanied us and although he is not a photographer, he really enjoyed everything about our photo walk. Julio Cesar is very extroverted knows street photography well, but more important: he knows the different barrios (neighborhoods) of Madrid and can take you visually interesting places off the tourist path. He also gave some very good general photography tips that I will remember long after leaving Madrid. He was also very flexible, adjusting the time of our appointment only the night before. He contacted me in advance to ask questions about what I desired to get out of our time together. Very friendly & knows the city!

I LOVED IT! And was left wanting more. Julio César was extraordinary. His knowledge for photography is very good, and explaining camera functions and concepts was very clear and complete (I started from zero). He knew the city very well and showed around walking and photographing people, loosening up from that fear and practice confidence in such a different style of urban photograph style (focusing on people mostly). He was very friendly, respectful and professional, something I value on a guide. Definitely the best way to get to know the city and their lifestyle, and a great way to mix it with an original touch! My sister and I booked this tour with my 12 year old niece. The day of the tour it rained hard. Julio not only offered to let us get a full refund, he also offered to do the tour in the rain. We opted to go ahead and do it in the rain and we are so glad we did! Julio offered us great photography tips that all of us could understand and use. He also took us to neighborhoods and taught us about local culture along the way! Highly recommend this tour! Best time even in the rain!

I really liked Julio and he took us to some great places. The lesson in street photography started off well and we had little projects to do on the streets. The flea market was the hardest to work in and I would have liked more tips on how to take pictures of people there. interesting tour

We met Julio Cesar in a small square in an area off the tourist track. His friendly and enthusiastic greeting was infectious and made us feel incredibly comfortable. Julio explained in easy to understand terms why we wanted to set our cameras at specific modes for street photography. We then embarked on our walking photo tour. Julio was attentive and informative. He took us to very interesting places sharing with us the history of certain sites as well as how to think about the process of spontaneous photography. We would take this workshop again and again as we know we would continue to learn and explore streets and places. Thank Julio for a great morning.Best Photography Workshop Amazing!

Julio met us on time and after a short getting to know each other time and our photographic skillset , we were off on a real Madrid exploration. We loved the fact, that in a short walk, we were amongst locals in Madrid and enjoying all the sights we would never have appreciated on a commercial tour. We decided on Julio’s photography tour in Madrid because we have recently upgraded from point & shoot cameras to SLRs. We only know very basic photography concepts but have not had the chance to use and practice with our cameras unless we’re on a vacation trip. Consequently, we really wanted to have a guide who can show us how to best use our cameras so we can practice in real time and become comfortable with all the features our cameras offer. Julio did exactly that with us! After 3 hours (he spent 4 with us!) we became a lot more comfortable and confident with our cameras. He showed us many aspects to photography and we came away with a greater appreciation in photography. Julio speaks fluent ‘contemporary’ English. For us to come away feeling like we learned a lot from Julio meant his communication skill was excellent and his teaching skill was also exemplary. If you have any interest in photography at all, no matter how basic or advance, and wanted to use this opportunity to improve … I highly recommend this tour. If you're in Madrid and have a desire to improve your photography skills, you should absolutely take this walking tour with Julio! Along with a group of coworkers, I signed up for Julio's tour and came away with a new arsenal of tricks for taking better photos. We did went our first day in the city, so Julio also helped us get a feel for the different neighborhoods in Madrid. Our family of 7 -3 teen/preteen girls, parents, and grandparents had the time of our life with Julio! He picked up on our level of curiosity and humor right away and engaged us all in the perfect combination of history & local lore. His energy and passion were contagious and even after 20 hours of travel without sleep we & the girls went from dragging a bit to hanging on to his every word. His English is excellent and encouraged the girls to try their limited Spanish. Julio is ‘a people person’ and knew instinctively how to connect with each one of us individually and as group as well as how to tailor the tour to our interests. All with humor and spunk!. Lucky us - a perfect introduction to Madrid. Our time with Julio will be one of the best memories of our 9 days in Spain. Julio is amazing!

We had a fantastic time on our tour with Julio. He is very friendly, energetic, and knowledgeable. He gave us a great overview of the city, an we learned a lot about history. He pointed out many hidden gems in the city that we would otherwise not have noticed had we only used a book as our guide. I couldn't recommend Julio enough. He was so personable it made the whole experience really comfortable. He started out with giving us a map and circled the different neighborhoods so that we were comfortable and had a good baseline understanding of the city which was really nice to orient ourselves. He was so knowledgeable and showed us really fun things about the city. Knew a lot about history but didn't make it complicated. Things I would never have known. I would highly recommend. Our tour did not come with a snack or drink but was supposed to? Otherwise it was perfect!Personable and so knowledgeable!

Julio is a wonderful guide which I can recommend with all my heart. He took his time to get to know me (I booked a private tour) and to then cater the tour to my preferences. He knew so many little details and interesting stories at basically every corner that no regular tourist guide has time to provide. His English is impeccable but after hearing that I used to live in Madrid for a few months some 30 years ago he offered to do the tour in Spanish ( I booked English) which I gladly accepted, but he switched easily to English when I was a bit "lost".
