Had a great tour of local Cairo restaurants with Mido. Food was delicious and the staff in the restaurants were really welcoming. Mido introduced us to local dishes for breakfast, lunch & dinner. We recently returned from a wonderful bespoke holiday in Egypt with many highlights, from living like a king for two days at the Al Moudira Hotel in Luxor, to 5 days cruising the Nile in total privacy on the Dahabeya Aqua, to 2 blissful nights in the Old Cataract Hotel in Aswan. We topped it off with three nights at the brand new Giza Palace Hotel and Spa. All fantastic. But what made the end of our trip really special was the two days we spent with Nesreen exploring the pyramids, temples and tombs of Saqqara and Giza, and old Cairo, street food included. Nesreen makes Cairo come alive, transferring a regular tourist trip into a deep dive into Egypt's and Cairo's rich and fascinating history. Her warm and fun personality certainly adds to the experience, as does her deep knowledge of both Egyptian ancient and modern society. We wish we would have had more days to explore Both Cairo and the region with Nesreen as our guide, and when (not if) we visit Cairo again, Nesreen will be the first person to call! We had a great time on our food tour with Mohamed! We had a large group, ranging in ages from 10 - 70 and everyone enjoyed it. Mohamed truly went above and beyond! We had booked the tour on an Egyptian national holiday and one of the restaurants was going to be closed, so Mohamed offered to meet us there the night before for no extra charge. He ordered us all the best options and showed us around the restaurant, only to take us back out to complete the tour the following night. We went on the food tour in Cairo just before starting a Nile cruise. Mohammed was a great guide…puntual at picking us up at our hotel, and a joy to be with. We visited 3 separate establishments to taste a variety of foods, including Koshary, Hawishi, Kofta and more. His contacts where we ate gave great explanations and offered us much information. Would definitely recommend. It lasted 3 hours from start to finish. Our only complaint was that there was too much food!Wonderful experience!

Wow, what a truly wonderful day in old Cairo with Nesreen Elnagger ( Nana ) We can’t thank Nana enough for this amazing experience which should not be missed if visiting Cairo. Not only did we see many of the ancient sights along with the day to day activities going on within old Cairo but we also learned so much about the stories and history behind what we saw as well as the culture. Nesreen was an absolutely wonderful guide. She is so warm and fun, she made us feel very welcome. She did everything to make us comfortable and adjust the pace based on our needs. She brings a big heart, a unique perspective, and a great insight into the culture that we didn’t have with other guides. She was honest, generous, and compassionate. She helped us navigate a busy market and taught us how to interact with the venders while shopping there. We loved going to a mosque with her since she brought an authentic perspective into the religious culture and rituals which we really enjoyed since it allowed us to pull back the curtain a bit on Islamic practices. Excellent tour, Nesreen has excellent English and is detailed in her knowledge of Cairo its history, religions, politics, traditions and practices. For us she filled in a lot of the intricate background to the souks buildings, their functions and artisan trades; pointing out areas and things we would never spot and talking to traders we would not approach. Everything Cairo (and probably Egyptian) she understands and can convey this simply and with enthusiasm and fun.Great tour

With less than 24hrs notice with extremely fast responses from Mohamed I was able to book a fully customised tour afternoon/evening tour of Cairo. In a few messages Mohamed was able to gauge what I wanted to do, suggest a plan and get everything confirmed. He offered to collect me from my flight and drop me back to my hotel later that evening removing any stress from my arrival and leaving me to relax and look forward to the tour. We visited Koshari Abu Tarekand had the legendary Koshari dish, a not to be missed experience. Then on to a walk through the markets of the old town starting at the victory gate - complete with a glass of sugar cane juice, and ended the evening with tickets to see Mazaher, one of the rare ensembles in which women play a leading role. The musicians of Mazaher are among the last remaining Zar practitioners in Egypt and this event that happens every Wednesday was sold out but thanks to Mohamed’s negotiating skills we were able to gain access. I felt very privileged to see such an uplifting performance. This was a last minute trip, I hadn’t had chance to research what was important to see and do and Mohamed managed to fill the time we had together with just the right experiences. He even managed to fit in a stop to get a phone charger and exchange some cash - two things that were causing me stress on arrival. Great to see a young guy with passion about his country eager to ensure visitors have the best experience during their visit. Mohamed was absolutely wonderful. We booked his tasting tour for our first day in Egypt (actually our first six hours) while waiting to join a tour group. So glad we did. He took us to places we would never have gone. I’m still thinking about the kushary!! When we finally met up with our tour guide, she was impressed with where we had eaten. Mohamed picked us up in his personal car and took us to five different locations. He provided us with a range of different meals, sweet, savoury and drinks. His English was excellent and two days on we are pleased to report that we did not get sick from any of the locations he took us to. Particularly he provided lots of extra information about how schools, tax and other interesting facts about Egypt. We would highly recommend booking a tour with him.A great experience

Mostafa's knowledge of Cario's culture, food and history made this tour the perfect way to experience the city. He took us to places that we would never have found by ourselves and made us feel as if we were just spending time with a local friend and we also felt totally safe and comfortable the whole time. He was able to not only explain the food and Cairo as it is today, but also is extremely knowledgeable in ancient Egyptian history, given that he is also an Egyptologyst. I will definitely be checking out his other tours the next time I visit Cairo. So glad we found him and I cannot recommend him enough as your guide when you visit Egypt. Nana is a wonderful guide - a warm, empathetic and joyful person who made me feel instantly at ease. I am a woman and was travelling solo; she took great care to keep me safe during drop-offs and pickups, and allowed me to see a side of Cairo I would have been unable to access either alone or through a standard tour company. We attended a concert under moonlight at the Citadel, and wound our way through backstreets visiting local restaurants, mosques and brass-making workshops. It was brilliant. I truly cannot recommend her highly enough! A magical experience

Ahmed is very nice and knowledgeable however compared to other food tours I have done before it was a let down. It was more of a downtown walking tour with Egyptian dinner rather then Food tour. I am not sure it’s a good value for money unless you are in a bigger group. 8 dishes were tasted all vegetarian. Good experience

Our food tour with Ahmed was our last activity after 18 days of touring around Egypt. This was also our first day in Center Cairo and that alone was a particularly hectic tour. And yes he definitely knows the places where the food is really good. First we had coffee in a quiet shady street with locals and then walked to the first restaurant where we went to try various dishes. Certainly the moussaka, which we had also eaten in other places and a sauce with tahini were delicious. Soft yet full of flavor. Then we continued on through the city towards the bazaar, mainly to admire the huge array of spices. Then our walking tour continued to the next restaurant which specializes in making Koshary. A kind of national dish of Egypt. we did not know it yet and yes its variation in basic ingredients made it a nice choice. The restaurant specialized in making this dish and all 5 floors were full. Was an experience in itself All in all an interesting tour that certainly expanded our view of Egyptian cuisine. Ahmed is a very friendly guide who speaks good English. But what on the one hand is his strength; a great willingness to serve and always willing to change the program if he suspects that you like something else as well is perhaps sometimes his weakness. It is a trait peculiar to Egyptians and what makes them very pleasant tour guides. But sometimes, in my opinion, it is nicer to have a clear program and stick to it and not give your guests too many choices. We had a lovely time spending the evening with Ahmed. Ahmed was immediately responsive to our request for his service and very willing to tailor an experience to our family’s need, as we have two young children. We ran into typical issues with traffic, and although they eroded our time, Ahmed was calm and engaged us in figuring out the best solution and a plan that worked best for us. Naira is a superstar...... Everything, we asked for and heaps more. The day was filled with all the sites of Cairo and it was hard to believe that it could be done. Our tour was a family tour for about 12 hours as we had a 12 hour layover in Cairo. Everything, happened smoothly and in a relaxed way which is also amazing for Cairo. In all of the hustle and bustle Naira helped with everything including making sure we paid the right price for a souvenirs. We spent a fascinating half day exploring the Egyptian Museum with Maga. As an archaeologist, Maga brings great insight into the history of Egypt and it's pharoahs. However, if you only want to see and hear the usual stories, Maga probably isn't the first choice. He had taken on board what we were interested in and did his best to show us everything we wanted to see. He showed us many fascinating, and often overlooked, key exhibits, as well as the unmissable ones such as Tutankhamen. We had made the mistake of booking a Friday afternoon, so our time was limited. Thank you for Maga for taking us around the Pyramids of Giza, Dahshur (Bent Pyramid), and Saqqara! It was wonderful hearing about the pyramids through an academic perspective - Maga is an archaeologist who has worked on the pyramids and has a PhD degree (working on a second one)! We learned so much today and he answered all of our questions as best as he could. The Giza pyramids were grand, Bent Pyramid was a workout (although worth going to), and Saqqara had beautiful mastabas! He's incredibly articulate, can get deep into the history (if you're interested), and share insights into how what society was like in different periods of time and how things have evolved to where we are today. He opened my eyes into seeing the world from a different perspective - I'm incredibly grateful. Safety was a top priority, he ensured I was safe and felt comfortable. He was always looking out for me as I negotiated in the market. I felt like I made a friend at the end of the tour. I did this tour solo while my friends were working - They all regret not joining me. 10/10 would go on another tour with Moustafa when I return to Egypt. The best way to visit Cairo!

We enjoyed our day with Moustafa at the Giza Pyramids, he was very knowledgeable and friendly. We enjoyed exploring the pyramids and appreciated him taking us to a tomb we wouldn't have found on our own. We wanted to leave early to avoid the midday sun, we were grateful he was happy to accommodate this. Very Friendly & knowledgeable

We were in Cairo at the end of February 2021. We ordered 4 days of excursions for 6 people from Mohammed (Magamed). From the very beginning, we liked the guide's attitude to organizing excursions. We agreed on everything via WhatsApp, he responded as quickly and clearly as possible. Good, understandable Russian. For the six of us, we were provided with a minibus with a separate driver and a security guard from the tourist police (according to the laws of the country, groups of more than 5 people must be accompanied by security). Mohammed himself was our guide for two days out of four. This was the day when we saw the Cairo Museum and the Pyramids of Giza and the day with the pyramids of Dahshur and Saqqara. Magnificent excursions, conducted with soul, a lively, professional story from an archaeologist specialist. You can feel the love for his profession and the desire to convey this love to the listener. We learned a lot of things that you will not find in any guidebook, visited places that you would hardly get to if you visited on your own. Mohammed organized two other excursions (a sightseeing tour of Cairo with a visit to the camel market near Cairo and another excursion to Alexandria) with other guides, those who can show their hometown better, know every corner well. All the excursions were eventful. I also really liked the guide in Cairo, but compared to other guides, Mohammed is the best! In addition to his professional qualities, he is a very nice person, intelligent, calm, smiling. I can safely recommend Mohammed to everyone as an excellent guide and organizer.
