Idriss ensured we experienced all the must-have meals and treats that Fes has to offer, from Besala and Gayee soup to honey cakes and makoda (calling all potato-lovers!). We also got to see some of the key craftmanships of this vibrant city, and meet the legendary Abdulla - THE teamaker of Fes. I had an afternoon solo — so I took a chance and combined the Hidden Gems Tour and the Food Tour. It was a great call! Driss was very professional. He contacted me via WhatsApp before I even left on my trip to confirm with me and give me some advice about my bookings. Driss truly seemed to know everyone — he was greeted by so many people, and he greeted many himself. It could have been awkward, being by myself, but it wasn’t. He made great conversation and spoke excellent English. The food was wonderful! The fried sardines and the “meat jerky” khleer (sounds like clear) were my favorite. But goat cheese tasting and the camel meatball sandwich (whatever its name is, I don’t know) were great as well. He would see a cart or a vendor as be like “Have you tried this?” Driss was able to recommend a hammam and show me there. I would absolutely recommend Driss. I felt safe, looked after, comfortable, and like he was interested in me enjoying myself.Great Day in the Medina

My wife and I have done many tours around the world and this was one of our favorite ones. The day we spent with Driss was purely awesome and we can't thank him enough for a fun day. His communication is excellent, always responding quickly, and he was punctual to pick us up, and his English is perfect so there was no problem understanding anything he told us. He told us all about Fes and took us to many iconic places so it was more than just a food tour. His knowledge of the city is extensive, having grown up in Fes. The food we tried was also amazing, my favorite being the bean soup and although it's not food, my wife's favorite being the mint tea we had from a little place upstairs near the center of the Medina. We tried beef jerky, nuts, fruits, breads, sweets, goat cheese at the market and also had more food at a restaurant where we had small salads, baba ghanoush (the best in the city), and meats on skewers (which were really good). Everything was very well curated and Driss was just a good guy to be around. He also knows every single person in Fes. Don't hesitate to book a tour with him. We've just returned from a wonderful week in Morocco, and one of the real highlights was spending time in Fez with Driss as our guide. Driss is a great guide, friendly, relaxed, really knowledgeable, and flexible to find out what we wanted to do. We had booked the 3 hour food tour, but with Driss that turned into a 4 hour tour, taking in the tanneries and other things we wanted to visit. Then the next day, without any additional charge, Driss arranged to take us to a fascinating pottery village, plus some additional local food stops. He really put himself out to make our time in Fez interesting . Seeing a place with someone who knows it like the back of his hand, and loves it, is pretty special. Enjoyed the food tour with Idriss. Good variety of foods sampled, paced nicely so as not to feel too full. Showed us several additional points of interest, including the tannery, an ancient university, and a hamman. Guide was knowledgeable and could answer any questions posed. In retrospect a 2-3 minute overview of the history of the Medina at the beginning of the tour would have helped contextualise the afternoon, and a bit more info on the origins of each dish might have enhanced the experience even more. Overall it was a great way to spend an afternoon and I can recommend to folks looking to orient yourself in the Medina and sample a variety of tasty foods while you're at it.Thanks for a great tour!

We booked Driss as a food tour, however, we got our timings slightly wrong, and met up late from large lunch (our mistake). Driss waited over 40 minutes for us to arrive and was very accommodating to our situation (we were not very hungry). Driss’s excellent knowledge of the market allowed him to flex the tour to take us past the snacks, where we enjoyed some local delicacies. We asked to be shown handicrafts that expertly wove in to the tour. We fired many questions at Driss, all which he answered knowledgeably. His love, passion & knowledge for Fes and his culture shone through the whole tour as we not only saw all the food & drink we wanted but also saw some of the historical traditions of dying, weaving as well interesting sites, such as the University and the narrowest street in Fes. We rounded off our tour with some traditional tea in the most authentic location. We cannot recommend Driss highly enough.Incredible & unforgettable experience.

I enjoyed my time with Hamid! His knowledge of his history and his story telling was excellent! Unfortunately this food tour did not live up to the standards of the usual food tours I partake in! This was not Hamid’s fault as Fes was already shutting down (I did the 5-8pm slot) Maybe I should’ve been declined that slot as it really impeded upon my experience. I can vouch for the other 4 food tours that I did in Morocco ( Casablanca and Marrakech) that those cities were very much alive in the early evening for the food tours.Hamid…an excellent story teller!

He was also valuable sharing safety and security concerns with potential fraudsters on the train from Marrakech to Fes, we encountered one but was prepared thanks to Driss. Driss was amazing! He picked us up from our Riad and we toured the medina for 3+ hours. He not only took us to local cafes and shops, but also showed us the old university, the tannery and the best places to shop for quality products. We had a wonderful food tour with Noureddine in Fes. He was communicative, knowledgeable, and fun to walk around the Medina with. He is a former travel agent and certified tour guide through Morocco's Ministry of Tourism. He made sure we had a clear meeting time & place, and when he arrived he provided us with bags for extra food, tissues, hand sanitizer, and hand wipes to use throughout the tour. He was also sure to ask us what we were most interested in hearing about, and he provided us with a mix of history and cuisine, as we asked. We started at the Blue Gate, and made our way deep into the Medina over the course of about 3.5 hours, stopping at various stalls along the way for bites to eat. Noureddine answered all of our questions, and introduced us to several people along the way. We had plenty of stops (at least 10), and he gave us options at each stall as to what we were most interested in trying. We tried everything from nougat and olives to mint tea and kefta sandwiches. The variety of food was wonderful, as was the information Noureddine provided along the way. We did the tour the night we arrived in Fes, and it was the perfect way to orient ourselves (as much as is possible!) in the Old Medina. We would recommend a tour with Noureddine to anyone!A highlight of our trip to Fes!

We had a wonderful tour of Fes with Noureddine!! He did a amazing job in showing us all the wonders of Fes. He was very knowledgeable and really took his time in answering all our questions. He tailored the tour to our interests and we all (including our two boys) really enjoyed ourselves. Noureddine also did a great job organizing all our transportation throughout our stay in Morocco. My wife forgot her watch in our Riad in Fes and Noureddine was able to arrange to have it delivered to us in Marrakesh which was 6 hours away! Jamal was a great guide, showing us all of the main sites in Fes medina and also talking about his own life growing up there. The guide also included visits to a tanning shop and a carpet shop, but there was no pressure at all during these to buy anything. Ons bezoek aan de medina en de souks van Fès samen met Elhadi en ons gezin was een geweldige ervaring. Elhadi nam ons mee naar de minder toeristische plekken en de beroemde leerlooierijen. Ook bezochten we een piepklein theehuisje dat we zelf nooit gevonden zouden hebben. Echt een topbeleving – ook voor onze kinderen van 14 jaar! ’s Middags aten we een soort bonen soep met olijfolie en look en een broodje met gegrilde vleesspiesjes bij een goed streetfoodtentje op straat. Ook dat was opnieuw een super ervaring. Het was enorm fijn om op deze manier een eerste goed beeld van de medina te krijgen, zodat we er daarna ook zelf op ontdekking konden. Elhadi is een zeer aangename man die zich moeiteloos aanpaste aan onze wensen. Ik zou hem aan iedereen aanbevelen!Bezoek aan de medina en souks van Fès

Driss is a very nice man and a good guide. He took us to the madrazo school, showed us the market where the beautiful dyed yarns are. Later we visited a rug maker and learned how the rugs are made. On to the tannery. After that we went to see how the Moroccan pottery and mosaics are made. One final stop at the famous blue gate.
