I did the 3 hours 10 tastings food tour with Maya. Her emphasis is on local specialties from Guadalajara. The food was excellent and I’m not sure that I made it to 10 I was so stuffed. Her knowledge of the city and history is excellent. She is very accommodating to your preferences. If you’re an English speaker, Maya’s English is perfect so you’ll have no issues there. The tour wasn’t rushed and felt plenty long. We had a great time with Maya showing us all the great local places to eat. Everything was delicious and we made sure to come hungry! By the end of the tour, we were so stuffed. You get so much during this food tour! We were totally stuffed by the end of it. Maya was very knowledgeable and flexible with our tour and even let us stop to do some shopping and helped us make a dinner reservation at the end of the tour. Maya showed us a great time exploring the Santa Teresita neighborhood. We tried several local favorites and got a glimpse of everyday life in the area. Learned a lot of the history of the neighborhood and people in it. The costs for all the food was covered, we only paid for drinks. In hindsight, we should have skipped breakfast. By the end of the tour we were waddling back to our car. I highly recommend. Guadalajara walking and eating tour

Maya was great! We were celebrating my husband’s 60th birthday. There were 5 couples and Maya was punctual and very knowledgeable. We got to try several restaurants, including street tacos. Yum! We had a really enjoyable time with Maya. It was very varied, from the Cathedral through a series of beautiful squares to the biggest market in South America. We saw a stall selling hugely expensive saddles, exquisite embroidered belts, medicinal herbs or herbs said to have magical powers. Fascinating. Maya was quite flexible in that she agreed to delay our tour by 30 minutes to minimize the impact of rain on our tour. She provided an excellent tour of the Guadalajara downtown area. She highlighted many points of interest and gave us tons of background information and relevant historical details. She was personable and chatted independently with each member of our group as we wandered around. Need to let you know.... we were difficult. We are not religious, therefore, churches were not our priority. Nor were we museum fans, again, another thing less to show us. But Maya came through! We saw quite a bit in 3 hours. All was pleasant, delicious, and enjoyable. Maya was patient, articulate and sweet. I truly recommend her. Best thing to do

My first trip to Guadalajara was in 2019. I wanted to visit the FIL, the largest Book Fair in the world after the Frankfurt Book Fair. Maya got me the tickets to go to the Fair, so I wouldn't have to worry about that. She also suggested the best places to stay and restaurants to eat since I am a vegan. When I was in Guadalajara Maya gave me and my friend a wonderful tour, visiting neighboring towns and the central area of GDL. We listened to a great mariachi band and ate wonderful Mexican food, shopped in authentic artisan stores as well as walked around the outdoors artisan market in the city.
