Joël was wonderful, inviting us into her home and sharing the most amazing meal with us. We could tell she really enjoys these occasions and is happy to be hospitable. What a fabulous day we’ve had with Joelle!! Inviting us into her home, taking us shopping with the locals at the fresh produce market just down the street, expertly guiding us to create a fabulous meal and then sitting down together on the rooftop balcony with amazing views of Lyon to enjoy the beautiful food, it was truly a wonderful experience! Exploring the market with Joelle was something we really enjoyed. She explained all of the steps well to making a full, delicious meal. She was excellent at involving everyone in the preparations. Elisabetta gave us a great introduction to Lyon. She explained particularly well the history and showed us places we would never have found by ourselves. It was a great way to start the trip. We were then able to explore Lyon far better informed I thoroughly recommend this as an option for people who have never visited Lyon as the history and town are quite complicated. Elisabetta was extremely warm, helpful, and an expert in Lyon history and culture. We had a fantastic time walking through Vieux Lyon, and we feel like we’re coming away with a richer understanding of Lyon’s development from Ancient Rome through the modern renovation of Vieux Lyon in the 1960s through today. We also stopped by numerous traboules, food and artisan shops, and monuments across history. We highly recommend Elisabetta for anyone visiting Lyon. Friendly, very knowledeable guide

We has a magnificent tour with Elisabetta. She and I corresponded several times before my arrival in Lyon to help set expectations for the tour (three-hour orientation on our first day in Lyon) and get advice about restaurants, must-see attractions and museums. She connected with us about 24-hours before the tour to re-confirm the plans… and met us right on time. Elisabetta shared great information about Lyon’s history, culture, arts and dining and wine scene— incredibly useful information that helped recalibrate the itinerary for our remaining five days in the city. And when the tour was done she sent detailed notes about what we visited along with ideas for further exploration on our own… AND she invited us to reach out to her with any questions that came up during our stay in Lyon. Joelle is a lovely cook and she and her husband were lovely hosts! My husband and I booked this for the last leg of our honeymoon and were looking for a delicious meal that was a different experience than taking a cooking class or eating at a restaurant. This did not disappoint! Joelle invited a couple of her friends over, whom she thoughtfully curated based on her conversations with me beforehand. Everything on the menu was really tasty and the conversation with everyone was lively and fun. (Side note - 8pm in October means the view from the rooftop is an evening view of lights - which we thought was beautiful, but something to be aware of). I highly recommend this experience. This was a lovely evening in the home of a gracious hostess, two of her friends and another couple. Viator didn’t mention this was in a private home, so I was surprised. While it was a very different evening than I expected, it was quite fun dining with locals and being able to chat about the city and France. The food was excellent and their views were some of the best in Lyon. And their dog was adorable.Excellent food

We had a great time with Elisabetta and learned so much about Lyon’s history. We explored the old town and many nice spots we wouldn’t have found ourselves. We had our 2 children with us and she made the tour enjoyable for them with illustrated historical cards without it taking away at all from our experience. We loved the cards too. She gave us many recommendations after the tour for a variety of good places to eat, drink, etc. Happy we booked with Elisabetta. Wonderful Tour!

We had an excellent tour with Elisabetta. I had notified her only the day before that we had already had 2 walking tours of Lyon and asked if she could modify our itinerary to reduce duplication. In spite of the short notice, she brought a list of suggestions and we selected new experiences, though to be fair we did walk past some previously seen monuments which she told us new information about! Elisabetta was very relaxed, pleasant and knowledgeable. Even though we had some slower members of our party, she did not rush the experience and even spent extra time with us to make sure we had a good experience without any mention of money or tip! Needless to say we tipped extra. Highly recommend this tour with Elisabetta.
