Maria was absolutely fantastic! Be sure to arrive with an open mind and an empty stomach. She met promptly on time and guided us through an incredible food adventure—trying everything we wanted and even more surprises along the way. From wandering hidden alleys to enjoying freshly made takoyaki (octopus balls) and stumbling upon cats at a secret shrine, every moment felt special. This was easily one of the most memorable experiences we had in Osaka. I would happily book another tour with her, just to discover more spots or simply to enjoy the city again with such a wonderful guide. Along the way, we also had the chance to meet locals and learn fascinating history about different neighborhoods. Hiroki-san gave me a really good insight on the Osaka cuisine, there are two options of the tour: Dotonbori and Shinshibashi (I picked the first). I got to try quite a few different meals, and even though a few things didn’t go as planned - Hiroki-san swiftly managed to save the day, which amazed as it showed his good knowledge of the area.Great tour!

We did the 10 tastings of Osaka tour with Hiromi on the second day of our 2 week trip to Japan. We were two adults and two teen boys (15 and 14). It was fabulous. Hiromi was so lovely and took us to places we would never have dared to step into, full of locals and cuisine we may not have tried. She took into account our likes and one of the boys’ less adventurous palates and taught us so much about Japanese culture. The sushi was the best ever and she taught us how the Japanese eat it (I had been doing it wrong for years!). It really set us up for our whole trip and we experienced far more cuisine as a result. Really recommend this. Pro tip: don’t eat too much before the tour, we were stuffed!! Thank you Hiromi we will always remember you xxxHighlight of our trip to Japan

Naoki is an amazing tour guide for Osaka. It started even before the trip where we wanted to know more about the family. Naoki has grown up in Osaka and showed us an amazing time. Not only did he explain the history of each stop, but also talked about some his past experiences. Each restaurant we stopped at was amazing. From Takoyaki to Gyoza and more, each one was delicious. What my family found most impressive was his attentiveness. It happened to be hot and Naoki catered the tour to make sure we didn't get too hot. Walking the city of Osaka with Hiromi was one of the highlights of our trip. She took us to many eateries we would not have found on our own and we tasted so many of Osakas famous dishes. I would say that this kind of tour’s success is really based on the person you choose to lead this tour as restaurant selection is really based on the personal opinion of your guide. Jessica was friendly but not originally from Japan. She took us to many local restaurants but the food was just ok. Where she came in handy was for general communication with the restaurant staff. We did eat lots of food that night so go on an empty stomach but I wouldn’t say it was the best food. We did get to try most of what was on our list but we had some line ups so be prepared for that as well. Lots of walking and subways to various areas. Not sure it is a must!Was just ok

Our group of five really enjoyed our time with Hiromi. From start to finish she took great care of us. We were totally disappointed with the quality and food offered on 10 tastings of Osaka. We were hoping to gain an insight into Osaka cuisine instead we went to two tourist traps heaving with foreigners. The cost of the tour was expensive and the quality of the offerings did not match our expectations having read the website description. Maria was so friendly and knowledgeable when it came to the food and cuisine culture of Osaka. She pointed out differences to other cities we visited and called out things we may be interested in trying. We walked around parts of the city that I don't think we'd have explored on our own so having. A guide to help up navigate (the city and the language) was very nice! We would have liked a bit more detailed history of Osaka as I called that out ahead of the tour and also asked on the tour but just got a high level description of Japan history that we were already familiar with. Maria did have a lot of fun and interesting facts about the markets and stalls we explored along the way! This was the highest price tour we did on our trip as we figured a private guide would be the best way to really eat like a local and from that perspective it was worth it.Ate so many tasty things!

Hiromi was a wonderful guide for the 10 tastings of Osaka we booked. She took us to eateries we wouldn't have found on our own which served wonderful food. We ate the best Sashimi of our time in Japan, drank Hiromi's favorite sparkling Sake and had the last stuffed buns (I forgot the name) of the day. She told us about the food, her life and Osaka in general. It was overall a very nice experience, and we where stuffed at the end of the night.
