We had a great tour with Ruairi. We did a 3 hour tour which initially started as the 1916 Easter Rising tour but Ruairi quickly made some changes as we were very much interested in other more general Dublin-must-knowns as well. Eamon was a font of stories about the history of Dublin. Our 3-hour tour ran closer to 4 hours, and it was clear Eamon could have gone on for much longer, despite the unseasonably cold day. Keenan was a fantastic tour guide and history buff. We learned so much about the rebellion and the general history of the Irish. I particularly liked the fact the he could speak with very differing accents from different parts of the country. Before booking the Rebellion of 1916 tour, I investigated other tours offered in Dublin and determined that Eamon would be best for our group of four. I gave him a little information about us and our interests. Eamon met us at our hotel and we quickly realized he was going to exceed our already high expectations. Eamon was knowledgeable, engaging - a passionate historian with a knack for storytelling. This was not your typical tour where you arrive at stop #1 and hear an informative, but predictable spiel. When asked a question, Eamon responded with incredible depth and range. We really appreciated that Eamon was able to provide a nuanced account of the many factors and personalities that came together at that time, thus pulling together our understanding of this historic event. I would highly recommend Eamon as a tour guide and when we return to Dublin we will be sure to book one of his other tour. Wow! Exceeded All Expectations.

Eamon arrived promptly at out hotel and after some quick introductions we were off. We asked Eamon for the Easter 1916 Tour and we got that plus a whole lot more. Eamon’s knowledge of the seeds of 1916 and the aftermath are without peer. He explained for some Americans in a way we could appreciate. We saw some amazing and historic sites and he had deep in the book knowledge the entire time. I could go on but for brevity sake please let us recommend Eamon as your guide if you’d like an appreciation for the history and beauty of all that Dublin has to offer. You won’t be disappointed. Eamon was great! Our group included 4 young adults (21-26) and they all voted that this walking tour was the best so far. It was day 13 of a 15 day vacation, so that's says a lot. Eamon totally customized our walk for us. We had seen SO many churches, monuments and castles and wanted something a little different. Eamon did point out many of the churches, they're hard to miss, but gave us so much more context that it was fun to learn about them. We thought he was funny, very knowledgable and kept us moving quickly. We covered a lot of ground in just 3 hours. Thanks so much for a great walking tour.Dublin - not the usual tour

Brendan was pleasant, enthusiastic and knowledgeable. I really appreciated the flexibility of a personalized tour. It was a great way to learn some aspects of Irish history in an interactive manner, as it's so difficult to find time to read books on all topics that I am interested in. I would have liked a slightly longer tour but this was fine under the circumstances as I had a flight back the same afternoon. I would also suggest that you provide personal guided tours to places like Kilmanhain gaol and Glasnevin cemetry even if they would need transport facilities. Thanks

Brendan is an excellent guide. We asked about modifying the tour as there was a possibility a friend who cannot wall long distances would join us. He immediately agreed. As it turned out, our friend did not join, so Brenden shifted gears and we walked the full tour area. He has some personal ties from his family to the events of the 1916 Uprising and this gives a personal touch. He is an excellent speaker with a very good conversational style. We have done a number of tours with the withlocals group and they are consistently excellent. Brendan upholds the high standard we have come to expect from this group. We did, "The History of Dublin: 1916 Easter Rising Tour" with Ben. What a great afternoon! Ben started by asking us a few questions to determine what our expectations were out of the tour so he could make it as memorable as possible for us. The next 3 hours flew by as we meandered through the streets & sidestreets as Ben engaged us with new insights to the history of Dublin. His knowledge base is very broad, it was a pleasure spending time with him. As an added bonus he documented the walk on his phone with some pictures added then sent it to me later that day as a wonderful keepsake of the tour. This is a wonderful tour to take, you get history and wonderful sites to explore as well as enjoying the outdoors of Dublin. Ben made it a great day!1916 with Ben!

We scheduled a last minute tour with Eamon. He was a wonderful tour guide; knowledgeable, and able to speak with us with such ease and kindness. Highly recommend taking this personal walking tour with Ciaran. He was very knowledgeable and happy to tailor the tour to us and answer any questions. We did this tour on our first day in Dublin and it definitely set us up for understanding the history of key events in the city and has made other visits e.g. to kilmanhain jail more meaningful as a result.
