We had a fantastic day with Andre. Great e bikes in excellent condition with nice helmets. There’s an excellent bike path along the waterfront. We were glad that we had André to guide us, as there are some tricky transitions. We rode out to the tower of Belem and André pointed out all of the key sites. He has a superb knowledge of history, culture and the ins and outs of Lisbon. He also gave us. Get lunch recommendation. We felt like we learned a lot, got some nice exercise and enjoyed the beauty of the town. On top of it all, he is a really nice and friendly guy. Andre guided my wife and I on an e-bike tour with a stop at a local lunch spot. Andre was very knowledgeable and his love for history and storytelling was a highlight of the trip. We also really enjoyed the local restaurant he selected and he guided us through the menu selecting several items that locals would eat. We would have been less adventurous without his help. I traveled solo for my first trip to Lisbon. Rodrigo was the perfect choice for a tour guide. He knows literally everything about the city and its rich history and is friendly and funny. Rodrigo was also very flexible and able to show me areas and shops that met my interests. And, his little sidekick, Poznan, is the perfect ambassador for the city. Her tail never stops wagging she greeted everyone with excitement. It was a great tour and I cannot recommend Rodrigo highly enough for solo travelers, families with children or groups. Great fun in Lisbon!

We had a fascinating tour of Lisbon with Andre. It was based around the route of the Tram 28 but it was so much more than that. Lots of walking too! Veerle heeft de voorbereiding van ons dagprogramma en de ontmoetingsplek perfect geregeld. Veerle reageerde snel en goed op onze vragen vooraf over bijvoorbeeld tips restaurants. Dat was heel fijn. Veerle was netjes gekleed en we vertrokken op tijd via de trein naar Sintra. Vanaf het begin tot het einde was ons contact met Veerle prettig en relaxed. Veerle is een open mens en oprecht belangstellend. Zij vertelde ons veel waardevols over Portugal, Lissabon, Sintra en de mensen die daar wonen. We hebben een prachtige dag met haar beleefd en we bevelen haar als gids zeker aan. Een eerlijk oordeel geven over de prijs/kwaliteit verhouding vinden we lastig. Een dagtour met een privé gids was voor ons namelijk de 1ste keer. Wat ons hierbij zou helpen is een specificatie van de opbouw van de totaalprijs van 400 euro. Bijvoorbeeld de verhouding tussen de overheadkosten en het salaris van Veerle.Een prettige gids met waardevolle info

Andre was so accommodating. My husband got food poisoning the day of the tour and he was more than happy to switch to another day, even though he had come all the way from Sintra, which we felt terrible about. Throughout the tour, Andre was incredibly knowledgeable and enthusiastic. He is a passionate history buff and had insights we wouldn't have known otherwise. We had also asked him to take us around to neighborhoods he would recommend if we moved to Lisbon and even show us how to take the subway. It felt less like a formal tour and more like being shown around by a passionate local friend.Very knowledgeable!

We (family of 4) had a really enjoyable afternoon of local food and interesting chat with Andre in Lisbon. It was wonderful to visit some places known to locals for traditional food and drink and really enhanced our stay. Andre was full of local information and history and had a cheeky sense of humour! He also customised our tour and the options he chose for us according to our food preferences and to try things we hadn't already tried (one of us is a vegetarian). We had an amazing Food tour in Lisbon where we tasted very very authentic local foods that we would never have been able to find or have ever tried on our own. We do not eat gluten or dairy and Andre was able to take us out for some amazing food that did not involve either of those. I cannot highly recommend this enough.Beyond excellent

Andre has a fantastic tour guide. Andre messaged in advance to find out dietary requirements and accommodated two non-fish eaters (no easy feat in Lisbon). We visited some hidden gems and tried an excellent selection of food and drink. In addition to the food/drink choices, Andre was extremely knowledgeable, personable and really interesting. We had a trip planned to Sintra the following day and greatly appreciated Andre’s list of recommendations for that trip too.We highly recommend!

We did our tour with André the first night we arrived in Lisbon. It was a wonderful introduction to local food in the city. He was also knowledgeable about Portugal’s history so was able to sprinkle this in throughout. He took us to restaurants we never would have found on our own! We had an amazing evening with Andrè, who went above and beyond to ensure we had an unforgettable experience. He is so knowledgeable, kind, interesting, and fun! We learned a lot about Portuguese history and culture, all while enjoying delicious bites from one of Andre’s favorite local restaurants. We enjoyed traditional sausage cooked at the table, gorgeous olives and cheeses, breads, and other classic, regional delicacies. We drank local wine, loved dining on the beautiful patio and listening to traditional singing from fellow patrons, and generally felt wrapped in the joyful heart and soul of Portugal. Sharing an evening with André was one of the highlights of our entire trip. He accepted our last-minute booking, and upon learning I needed to eat gluten free (a tall order in Portugal), he went all the way across town to the one gluten-free bakery to ensure that I, too, could enjoy a traditional Portuguese dessert—a flaky pastry filled with custard. It was so thoughtful of him and emblematic of the type of care he puts into every guest’s experience. Our walking tour with Andre was perfect for us! He gave us a great introduction to Lisbon, showing us the neighborhoods and hidden gems we would never have known about had we relied on a guide book. He recommended restaurants and things to do (and also what was not worth it which we appreciated as we only have a few days in the city). He has so much knowledge of history of the city, of Portugal, of tile making, of the buildings, and provided context for what we were seeing. Super fun and interesting tour with André who met us in the morning, asked some questions, and curated an amazing experience for us! The 3H tour was filled with fun facts and information about the history and sights as we walked through the neighborhoods. André is super smart and charming and the entire experience is delightful. We had the most excellent experience with André as our guide. We, family with 3 teenagers, did a very relaxed city tour. André was very knowledgeable, and not only mentioning names and numbers, but he made really nice stories and surprised us with fun facts. This was very entertaining to all of us. Two days after the tour he helped us out when another tour was canceled. Without any benefit for himself, he managed to get us last minute of an alternative tour, that turned out great as wel. We've done a fair share of Withlocals experiences with our family, but this one with André is truly at the top of our list. Before the trip we have been chatting about what to do, what not to do, how to keep it fun for kids and manage the hot weather. Without having a super specific itinerary beforehand, André really delivered! The experience was packed with great stories, fun challenges and some truly hidden gems. During the experience André was really flexible in adding some unexpected stops on our request when we wanted to go off script. His knowledge of Lisbon and its history is second to none. Not like a walking Wikipedia, but all in the form of stories and challenges like spotting the "wrong" tile on a building's façade. When our kids got upgraded from the title of "assistant" to "super mignons", because they spotted the wrong tile very quickly, it was received as the highest honours by them. Our advice: book a tour with André, talk about the things you're interested in beforehand and let him take care of a fantastic experience.
