We were lucky enough to have Rui as our guide for the walking tour of Porto. His knowledge of and enthusiasm for his home city was outstanding. His approach was relaxed and unhurried and the choice of a traditional Portuguese tavern for lunch was a good one. Antonio was the perfect guide, showing us many beautiful places that we would have otherwised not discovered. We were treated to several different delicious culinary treats and beverages (our first Port & Tonic, thanks to Antonio ordering them, was Amazing!). Rui was a fantastic tour guide. It was our first full day in Porto and the tour helped us get our bearings and understand some of the history and main highlights of the city. We had a great time with Priscila, learning about the history, culture, and community of Porto. She showed us highlights such as the train station, cathedral, market as well as some local gems. We enjoyed a pastel de nata and (since we love gelato) built in time for a stop for gelato and coffee. Even though it was raining, we really enjoyed our time with Priscila and feel like we learned so much. We had a great few hours with Priscila, and changed our later plans because of her great choices of locations to visit. Priscila was very knowledgeable of all the main points of interest in Porto, she was very clear in her delivery of information and paced the tour well. The absolute highlight was the Farmers Market which in the end we stayed in for 3 hours instead of heading to another Port tasting! Walking around lots of great food, drink, craft stalls with a glass of wine, Port, beer was a fab concept. If we have an opportunity to come back, we will book Priscila to take us on a food tour for sure, as she’s a superstar. Saving the best till last!

We had a wonderful five-hour tour with Rui in Porto in mid-September. Coming from a family that has lived in Porto for generations, he was very knowledgeable and anxious to share his love for the city, which he did in perfect English. Porto is a very old city that has become quite trendy, with many visitors and young people, and Rui gave us a good sense of how that happened and its impact on the people who live there. We learned a great deal about Porto’s history, economy, and culture, both through Rui’s “standard” tour and in his responses to our many questions on a wide variety of topics. He paced the tour well, asking us if we were tired or hungry, and stopping to accommodate photos, etc. We had an interesting conversation over lunch about his family and life in general for people his age in this suddenly super popular city (although the food at the restaurant he chose was not very good). A small side note: If you want to see Livraria Lello, the beautiful bookstore that has become Porto’s number one tourist attraction thanks in part to its purported connection to JK Rowling and Harry Potter, be prepared to wait in a long line (€8) or get priority entry (€50). We decided to skip it. We recommend Rui without hesitation.Rui - a knowledgeable & thoughtful expert

We loved our personal tour with Priscila. She is extremely articulate and provided great insights to the history and culture of Porto. We liked her local tips on where to eat, and at the end of the tour she organised a last-minute restaurant table booking and sent us a list of places she thought we might like. Over the next few days we enjoyed ticking many of them off the list. A particular highlight, not only of the tour but of our whole visit to Porto, was a late afternoon stroll around the Mercado do Bolhao with a glass on Vinho Verde hearing from Priscila her pride in the high quality of all the produce and food available. My sister and I began our Portugal trip in Porto. We booked the Kickstart tour with Priscilla our first morning to get the lay of the land. Walking from our hotel, navigating through construction and maps on phone that didn’t work great, we ran about 10 minutes late.
