We did a walking tour of The Marais with Welly and I have to say it was absolutely fantastic. My partner and I have been to Paris about 9 times between us so on this trip we wanted to try something different so decided to go with a private tour to get learn about the history of the area and also see things we just wouldn’t see on our own and that is exactly what we got. Welly tailored to tour to what we wanted to see. He was an absolute wealth of knowledge about Paris and the Marais area. We learnt history from the inception of Paris right through to WWII and the more recent history of the Marais region particularly. Paolo is an amazing tour guide. He is knowledgeable, warm and friendly, and patient. We are an older couple and walk slow. He immediately adjusted plans so we were comfortable walking for 2 hours. We met in a cafe where Paolo gave us a brief overview of his plans. Then we walked all over the Marais, seeing historic sights, learning about the architecture, identifying cafes and boutiques to visit later. This private tour was perfect for us. My daughter and I took a tour of the Marais with Paolo. He was engaging and knowledgeable. We got to see and hear about things that likely aren’t in most tourist books. Maxime brought the history of La Marais’s political and theological conflicts to life by pointing out things we would have otherwise missed - bullet holes in buildings, changes to architectural style and the remaining fruit trees. He took us to a great bakery and coffee shop and gave us some useful recommendations for places to go afterwards.

We took the 2.5 hour Walking Tour of Le Marais w/ Carlos Hernan. We arrived 10 minutes late (apologies again, Carlos!) and you simply could not ask for a more patient, knowledgeable, enjoyable guide than Carlos. No matter what small thing we pointed at “what’s that?” “what’s that?” “what’s that?” Carlos enthusiastically answered each question with a real depth of knowledge. I have no idea how, but Carlos exudes/creates a bubble of soothing zen calmness in what can be, at times, a slightly chaotic area of Paris, and that aspect boosted the overall experience (which was already great). Carlos was a joy!

We were lucky enough to have two tours with Anukool. Our first was two Marais , and the second was the food tour in Montmartre. Anukool is an amazing historian. He was able to answer all of our questions about history, buildings, and recommendations for places to see and restaurants in Paris. We had a very cold January day, and a new cold was a very conscious about checking on the group and making sure everyone was content. His manner is lovely and professional. I wish we were in Paris, so we could book a third tour. We would recommend these two. Anukoolis an 11!!

My family (3 kids ranging in age from 10-16) met up with Welly for a walking tour of Le Marais on our first afternoon in Paris in the hopes of getting to know the neighborhood where we were staying for vacation. He was simply amazing! He was very knowledgeable about the area, and had up to date information about the plans for the Olympics in 2024, the progress on the repair of Notre Dame, and street art - but also took us "back through time" to teach about the origins of the city's settlement, the history of the Jewish people in Le Marais, and all sort of cool architectural facts about Medieval and Renaissance Paris which my kids kept pointing out again and again during the remainder of our trip. He was super fun, engaging and had great pointers for things to try to do during our trip. After the conclusion of our tour, he reached out (at our request) via the app with a bunch of super helpful restaurant recommendations which we really appreciated. Highly recommend him for your future adventures!Thanks Welly for a great intro to Paris!
