Dionysis blew away all expectations for our food tour of Athens. He took us to local spots with top quality authentic Greek food. The amount of food for our party of 8 was plentiful and he kept asking if we'd like to order more. While walking between restaurants, Dionysis was a wealth of knowledge about the history of Athens. We also requested a stroll through Plaka, and he was happy to oblige. We are so lucky to have had Dionysis as guide. He was flexible and met us at a location more convenient for us which had a great view of Acropolis. He was full of great information and brought us at the end of the tour to a great spot for the best souvlaki in town. I was only in Athens a short time for the first time and wanted to get a sense and feel for the city. Dionysis was accommodating and really flexible. I booked for a much shorter time that we actually spent walking and touring. His archaeologist background and passion for Athens is evident with his knowledge and take on ancient Greece and the current state of things He has wonderful grecian hospitality and informative insight. We met Dionysis at @ 12:30 and spent 3 pleasant hours walking, talking and eating our way around Athens. Dionysis was attentive to our likes and dislikes and ordered our tastes accordingly. We walked through the meat and fish markets the had wonderful calamari, anchovies, meatballs, veggies both fried and fresh with a spiced cheese spread and some coffee. Next we went to another spot for sausage, gyros and fries. Then went to another bakery for the best spanikopita ever with handmade phyllo dough. We also some succulent pork skewers and ended our food tour with fresh, hot doughnuts. Our only complaint and it is minor - Dionysis is a smoker and my husband hates the smell. I thought he was very discreet with his smoking, but it was the only negative. Dionysis has a great personality and was very easy to talk with.Great walk with wonderful food
