we were supposed to visit the mountains in wicklow but we wanted to change that due to some circumstances. marius instead took us to bray, where our daughters could feed the swans and seagulls. it was wonderful to go there and experience the waterfront as well as the greenery of wicklow. marius was kind, good humoured, and informative with his tour! lovely trip!

Our family of adults enjoyed starting our visit to Dublin with Marius very much. He gave a great overview, nice history information and great tips for lunch and other things to see and do. We highly recommend this tour and Marius. Great start to dublin

This was our first time using WithLocals. It was recommended to us by a co-worker who had a great experience in Isreal. This was also our first time booking private tours instead of sitting in the back of a tour bus! OMG! So much better and so worth it! We originally booked a day trip to the Cliffs of Mohr. However, communication with our tour guide, Marius, in the days prior to our arrival, we soon realized that, due to our cruise port, we would have spent 3 hours one-way in the car to see the epic cliffs and not much else. We were maily interested in seeing the beatiful scenery of Ireland. So, Maruis suggested (and created) a completely custom itinerary that crammed so many amazing places into our tour. I am so glad he suggested the alternative. We were at Powerscourt Gardens when they opened and literally had the enourmous space to ourselves. We spent time at Powerscourt Waterfall, Glendalough, Glenmackness Waterfall, Guinness Lake and picked wild blueberries in the Wiklow Mountains at the very bridge that was used in the film P.S. I Love You! Marius, thoughtfully emptied a small plastic tub of gum into a napkin so that we had something to put the blueberries in. And they were amazing on our pancakes the next morning on the ship! He took us to the Heather Wicklow Restaurant where we treated him to lunch (Best Corned Beef I've ever had). Maruis was so genuine and fun to be with that he became an instant friend that we hope to stay in contact with. We did 8 tours over the twelve days we were in the British Isles and our time with Maruis was hands-down one of our favorites! Nothing beats a private tour!

Marius was great. Very friendly. Very willing to adjust things for our likes. However it is a very very long drive to get to the Cliffs ( close to 4 hours) so once there you have very little time to see anything. With only 8 hours booked for this tour your actual time at the Cliffs is very short ( 45 minutes). The scenery along the way is quite beautiful there and back. And as I said Marius was wonderful If you have but one day to leave Dublin and see something more of Ireland ask Marius to recommend a different trip unless you are really set on seeing the Cliffs If you only have one day not worth it

We were so grateful to have Marius take us to the Cliffs of Moher. He gave us space to explore, took us for a lovely local lunch in a small village and gave us options for the route hope. An adventure across the Isle from Dublin in the East to the Cliffs of Moher in the West. The cliffs are dramatic, a nice walk along the coastal path above and also a tower to climb for better views. Scenic views on the return journey to Dublin visiting some ancient sites. We would say we spent more time in the car getting there and back than we had originally realised. A nice day out with an informative guide.East to West

At the last minute Marius was unable to make the day tour to the Cliffs of Moher but arranged for transport and a make-up historical walking tour of Dublin. All in all a creative solution to the unpredictable nature of travel. We were pleased to have that time with Marius as he promised to make us fall in love with Ireland. He was a font of knowledge on all things Ireland and I’m glad we found time to spend with him. I would highly recommend him as a tour guide!A different tour with Marius

I wish I could give Marius a one-million star rating! He was that amazing! For our Cliffs of Moher tour, he promptly picked us up at our hotel. What my friend and I loved about Marius was that he was a font of knowledge -- a true Renaissance Man, but he didn't overwhelm you with information, either. I consider myself a history buff and he was definitely able to teach me a thing or two! We also made some terrific stops that we wouldn't have been able to had we been on a bus or big coach tour. I don't want to spoil the surprises along the way but my friend and I couldn't get over how thoughtful and insightful Marius was. It was definitely a long day -- we drove from one side of the country to another -- but we felt safe and secure in his clean, safe car with Marius at the wheel. Again, you will not regret booking with Marius. Our day with him was definitely the highlight of our vacation!!!An unforgettable adventure with Marius!

Marius took us to the Cliffs of Moher. Absolutely awesome guide! We were comfortable in his private car. He was so knowledgeable. He is a super interesting and very sweet person so the long drive went by in absolutely no time. He made sure he fit in some interesting stops along the way that a tour bus would NEVER get to. We really got to see Ireland’s gorgeous country side, little villages, mythical spots! He even made other recommendations for us that we did other days and it made our trip incredible!!! Don’t miss out, Marius was worth it! Don’t miss Marius!

Marius was a wonderful host and tour guide. I had an unexpected injury, and he modified the tour to take this into account, but didn't sacrifice any of the highlights. We thought we were just going to see the Cliffs of Moher and some other quaint sights along the road, but the spots he picked out along the way to the cliffs were genuinely the highlights of the tour. He found some really breathtaking, secluded areas we never would have seen had we gone with a larger tour. And there were little personal touches along the way: he found blackberries and hazelnuts growing along the road for us to try. For two people who live in NYC, that was quite an experience!A magical day

Marius is super easy to talk to and a pleasure to spend the day with. He constructed a day which included waterfalls, the Wicklow Mountains, some foraging, the Monastic settlement of St Kevin and so many beautiful sights! I couldnt have asked for more! Marius gave me both history and anecdotes for the area. He even went out of his way (at tour's end) to bring me to a beach as I hadn't yet been to one! From start to finish Marius was an exceptional guide. Marius is a great communicator, reaching out to customize the trip to the Cliffs of Moher to our interests. His knowledge of history and the area were extensive. Marius treated our party of 3 to stories of legend and fact, entertaining us throughout the day. He had the gift to recognize we were still a little travel weary from our arrival to the area. His ability to transition between comfortable silence and interesting conversation was greatly appreciated. Marius did a fantastic job in showing us the history of Dublin for me and my family. 5 hours is a long time of walking though and it should be cut down to 4 hours if possible.A wonderful guide

It was a great way to spend our first few hours in Dublin! We were hungry , thirsty and ready to walk the city. Marius showed us around and explained a lot about the food and culture in Dublin. We had a wonderful tour with Marius! For a guide to know so much about a city they didn't grow up in or a culture, he sure has created a memorable experience. He was patient with our daughter (8), even though she was not as interested. We loved all the tidbits and interesting stories he gave. Sometimes it is easier to listen to stories than just read about them. I would recommend his tour to anyone! Great experience in a new city

Dublin was in a state of lock-down, Dublin Castle was closed , pubs and restaurants were closed. We canceled with Marius and still cannot get a refund. The walking trip never happened. I wish it had.It never happened
