Paul was such an accommodating and patient guide! He was meticulous to find out what our needs were and to customise a tour just for us. I struggle with a pre-existing medical condition and was needing a lot more breaks during the hike to the top of the waterfall which slowed the whole group down and never did he once get impatient with me. The best part was that he kept reassuring me that it’s ok to take my time. He’s such a chill guide but he was always, ALWAYS looking out for all of us. This is truly an unforgettable experience for my friends and I and I have Paul to thank for this! I recommend him most enthusiastically to anyone who wants to have a caring and patient guide. What an AMAZING experience!

I wanted to do a tour of temples and caves at short notice but couldn't fit the advertised times into my schedule. Paul was able to adapt the itinerary to fit round me and was so helpful. Once on the tour me and my teenage son had a fantastic time...we learnt so much that simply would not have been possible wandering on our own. We went on a tour to look at different mosques and temples around Kuala Lumpur. Paul was awesome!!! He was extremely knowledgeable about the places we visited as well as any topics we brought up about Malaysia. He was punctual and very flexible. I would highly suggest going on a tour with Paul. It was one of our favorite things we did on the trip. We also suggested him to a group of our friends who went the next day and had a very similar experience. He is highly recommended. As the national mosque was not open for visitors at the planned time (as it was a Friday), Paul planned and incorporated an alternative that was a great option and much appreciated. Our three-person family visited KL for the first time and wanted to also learn about the area and Malaysia in general. We hired Paul to guide us for a full day and are so glad that we did. He picked us up by car punctually at our hotel. It was useful to have Paul as our knowledgeable local person when visiting the sights. He could answer our innumerable questions, suggest lunch and dinner venues offering local cuisine and show us around in corners not highlighted in guidebooks. The tour started out badly. The celebrity cruise ship coordinated the visa’s and passports, and our shuttle bus took us outside the port to a central meeting area. Paul and another “with locals” guide were waiting at the terminal, while all other tour companies were waiting in the meeting area—why did they know about the meeting place and our tour company didn’t? After contacting Paul about our location, it took him 40 minutes to meet us. After this poor start, the tour with Paul was very good. Paul was very knowledgeable, and friendly. We would suggest taking the trip to the top of Petronas Towers versus standing in front of the building for a picture. Tickets must be purchased on line. You stop at the 41st walkway for pictures and then go to the 86th floor. You need to read about Batu Caves before the tour. We elected to skip this stop—lots of steps and time consuming to see several temples built into a mountain. Also enjoyed Chinatown, Independence Square, Central Market, and tour of the city and then returned to the ship. As a last note for the company, it would have been nice for a private tour to have a bit larger car (doesn’t help that I’m tall), and some water in the car (we did bring our own as a backup). If you have some days in the Kuala Lumpur area, you should go to Malakka. A wonderful city with a colonial city center, a lot of temples and - of course - an amazing china town. Try the riceballs! You should not go by bus. Take it easy and go by car. Paul is a secure driver and he will bring you safe to your destination. Without a guide like Paul you will not understand the history of Malakka and the story behind the buildings. Paul is a fantastic storyteller, from whom I learned not only a lot about the history of the city, I also get deeper into the malaysian way of life.

We enjoyed discovering Melaka with Paul, specially the babanyonya history as that was totally new to us. We visited the town at a leisurely pace and Paul took us to a lovely nyonya restaurant where we treated him to lunch before going to the Heritage centre which was fascinating.
