Sebastian is a kind and open minded person and he makes you feel very welcome from the first moments. He is sufficiently knowledgeable about Barcelona's history, but for our taste the tour was not well structured. It was meant to be a Gaudì tour but in the end it was more like a general explanation of the many things that happened in Barcelona throughout history enriched with some anecdotes from Gaudì's life. Overall it left us with some interesting impressions but we were not satisfied, especially given the high price we paid for this. At this cost we would not recommend it. By means of constructive feedback: a few days later we decided to join a free tour organized by Civitatis and it had quite a few parallels but everything was explained in a more in-depth and structured manner. Regardless of the price (here you donate whatever you feel adequate, ca. €10-20pp) we preferred this tour.Gaudì tour

We really enjoyed our 3 hr Gaudi themed tour with Sebastian. It was really engaging in terms of the historical content, Sebastian showed photos on his iPad which helped to explain the development of the history. Irina was communicative before the event, met us promptly at the appointed space and time, was extremely pleasant and very knowledgeable. Bianca is a very good guide! We had a little trouble connecting with Bianca prior to our tour, but she was very accommodating with our itinerary and limited accessibility with walking steps! We wanted to visit Casa Batlló (marine world architecture) and Barri Gothic (Barrio Gothic). She is very down to earth and friendly! Bianca has a background in architecture and was very informative about the intricate details that Gaudi included in his design which helped us better understand what Gaudi had in mind for the building. As we toured Gothic barrio Bianca shared more interesting details about many of the amazing structures and its history starting with the Romans through modern times. Lastly we had requested some suggestions for restaurants serving “daily menu” Paella dishes, she came through with two options, we enjoyed great lunch at one of them. We would recommend Bianca to our friends & family visiting Barcelona. Bianca is a very Good Guide!

Bianca shared so much about Barcelona that enriched the rest of our stay. What we learned about the city’s development over the ages made us look differently at buildings and neighborhoods, and helped us navigate. Even though my partner had been to Barcelona many times, Bianca found several famous landmarks he had never known seen. After touring a beautiful market with her, we saved lots of money and ate better by shopping at the traditional markets. An incredible experience with Barcelona's classic sites,wonders and hidden gems. Beautiful and very intresting history and stories behind each site. His tour was an interactive tour that kept us intrigued at all times. Moises was our guide and an amazing one at that. He speakes very good English as well as Spanish. The tour itself was very engaging with kids of any age as well as parents. He shared his personal favorites about food spots, as well as what to look out for as tourists when it comes to pickpockets and tourists traps. This was our second tour with Liliia. We had previously scheduled both tours back to back but then spread them out. Unfortunately, we had to leave Barcelona early so we asked Liliia if we could cancel for a refund. She stated the Withlocals policy about cancellation for no refund so we understood. Fortunately for us, our flights out allowed us to take the tour, so we kept the tour confirmed. We showed up on-time. Mind you, it was hot, in the middle of La Rambla, so extremely crowded. We were with two kids. We waited in the same location for over 40 mins and then received a message stating she thought the tour was canceled. Wow, what a disappointment!No show

Over the course of three hours Alessandro gave me a crash refresher course in Western Civilization as a way of putting into context the architecture and art of Barcelona as it evolved over the centuries. Ramona had to step in for the guide we originally hired, as the other had an injury. So with less than a days notice, Ramona showed up, ready to show us some of the many treasures of Barcelona. Ramona's love to Barcelona is palpable! She taught us so much about the rich history of many sites. But, she didn't give us a dry history tour. She made is fun and interesting with lots of great stories and intricate details. To make it even better, she showed us some of the best bakeries and restaurants in the area! It was a pleasant surprise to have met Octavio, given our original guide was no longer available. Octavio was extremely flexible with our tour, given the day before we had independently visited Park Guell and Sagrada Familia. We had the most pleasant and unexpected tour of our entire Barcelona stay. Bianca was fabulous - helping us understand the creation and history of the various neighborhoods She then gave us insight into the architects that founded Barcelona look and feel with a fascinating emphasis on Gaudi. Alessandro was the best choice for a tour guide. We were overwhelmed in planning a trip to Barcelona: the city is very large and has a lot to offer visitors. We gave Alessandro some parameters: we had young children, and we enjoy art history, architecture, and food. He easily weaved these elements into our tour together. The pace was manageable— not at all too fast— we even stopped for some open-market shopping and other curiosities. He took us for food tastings that made our sons’ tastebuds and imaginations explode. He listened to our interests and was able to pivot and accommodate along the way. Alessandro is charming, kind, and a gentleman. He is highly, thoroughly knowledgeable and loves what he does. His English is excellent; he speaks multiple languages. He brought the history of Barcelona to life with stories and some photos. Truly Alessandro was our best decision for an introduction to this fine city. Our sons (9&11yrs,) both said he was a gem and they were so happy we did the tour.
