We spent an hour and a half with Matteo, learning Spanish history, looking at beautiful architecture, and seeing some hidden gems in Madrid. It was perfect! We only had one day to explore Madrid and Ari was the perfect person to show us around! She created a custom food/city tour to help us see the best highlights of the city during our limited time. Being from Madrid, she is incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about her city and we learned so much! She also incorporated four food incredible food stops during our day so we could experience some of the most famous foods including churros and chocolate and a calamari sandwich - we highly recommend both! Spending the day with Ari felt like spending the day with your friend, and we highly recommend her to anyone wanting to learn about the history and food of Madrid! Perfect first day in Madrid!

This was my first time booking a private walking tour instead of joining a free one, and unfortunately, I found the experience quite disappointing. The guide seemed very new to the role, and I often felt that she was simply reciting basic information—things we could have easily read in a printed guidebook. I was hoping for more engaging storytelling, local anecdotes, historical context, and maybe even some insider tips or recommended spots. Communication was also a real challenge. Since English is a second language for both of us, it was difficult to connect, and she often didn’t seem to understand the questions we asked. That said, she remained kind and patient throughout the tour, even though it rained most of the time, which I appreciated. Overall, I didn’t feel the tour offered good value for the price paid.Kind guide, but the experience fell short

Majo (Maria Jose) was pure joy and a beautiful welcome to Madrid for our first time in the city! Her communications leading up to our meeting were timely, the meeting location was discovered with ease, and her promptness of arrival was appreciated. From the moment we met Majo, we felt like family, especially after being greeted with a warm and welcoming hug. The tour highlights were wonderful learning a lot about hot spots of the city. My husband and I soaked up the history of the Monarchy of Madrid, the gastronomy culture, and were pleasantly surprised that we were able to attend 7pm mass at The Cathedral immediately following our tour. The timing of the tour was providential to allow for mass. Majo is quite the hidden gem of Madrid and definitely worth joining on one of her many tour offerings. You will part as family. We did the Kick Start tour of Madrid the first day we arrived. Great way to get a lay of the land. 90 minutes was perfect. Our guide Ariadna was wonderful. Energetic with an exuberant love of the city she has grown up in. We went by the major sights in the city center. She shared a wonderful street that is frequented by locals, which we ended up loving for dinner, or just stopping in for wine and tapas. Booking through withlocals is easy, and there’s great communication. I highly recommend this tour this company and especially Ariadna!Fabulous way to start the trip

Dawinson was great from start to finish! Even before the tour date, Dawinson checked in with us to reconfirm and coordinate our meeting date, time, and location. The tour went by so fast! We went to the older parts of the city, the newer parts, some of the major landmarks, and everything in between. He provided information on history, local culture, tourist traps to avoid, and where to go for the best experience. We had a great time with Majo. Everyone should have this kick start tour. Majo gave us a very good overview of Madrid and it’s history, it gave us a very good perspective keeping the knowledge that she gave us into account while we enjoyed the rest of our time in Madrid. We took the tapas tour with her as well and the Prado Museum. We tasted the best tapas while continuing to learn more about Madrid, the people, the customs etc. Majo had a real good knowledge of the PRADO museum. We hit the best paintings/ sculpture in the 3 hour timeframe. You can feel her passion for her work and her enthusiasm to share her knowledge. Would recommend Majo on any of her tours.
