My wife and I live nearby Berlin and had two Chinese/American visitors over for whom I had mainly booked the tour. We were all extremely impressed with Juan's tour and his abilities as a guide. It turned out, even I did not know the majority of the sites and attractions myself, and - if I did - Juan always had a take on things that shone a new light on them. He is super enthusiastic, lives in Berlin for 25 years and has a profound knowledge of Berlin's history, architecture, arts, culture, libraries etc and obviously loves the city. He is very communicative, answers all your questions, also says when he does not know something (hardly the case though), and often shows you pictures on his tablet. on what places looked like in the past so you can compare them to what you see, today, so you can really get a very good impression of the changes that Berlin underwent throughout history. Juan also suggested two restaurants, one of which we went to after the tour, which was exactly the right thing and reasonably priced. This was a great 3 hour tour through Berlin which deeply impressed us and we can only wholeheartedly recommend Juan as a guide!Outstanding tour and guide!

Michele gave my husband and I a fascinating tour of all the main sites in central Berlin. We'd arranged this for the first full day of our trip, and I would recommend this timing as she also provided great suggestions of things to do on the following days. We learnt so much about the city and its history in a really enjoyable way, plus some great pointers as to where to find good craft beer. And we were lucky enough to manage to buy seats for the Berlin State Opera's wonderful production of Nabucco and watched Michele performing in the chorus! Brilliant & thought provoking tour.

I can’t say enough good things about my tour with Miha! It was an incredible & amazing tour. Miha is very knowledgeable & geared my tour towards the history of Berlin & lots of fun facts along the way. He was so kind & it was a pleasure to tour with him. Miha even taught me some things I did not know about the S bahn & U bahn (such as the differences in the tickets and how to tell when the approaching train was full or semi full through the red lights.) Miha took me to the roof top of a building (I can’t remember the name) & we viewed beautiful Berlin from a different perspective. It was amazing! Miha even offered to help me purchase tour tickets and restaurant recommendations. He is a phenomenal & brilliant tour guide. I would highly recommend Miha as your tour guide. Excellent tour guide!

We spent a great morning with Seth. Seth took us on an off the beaten track tour. He was very knowledgeable and he made the tour very interesting with a lot of local back stories which really brought our understanding of the city to life. We started in the Tiergarten to the Victory column. Then a bus to the Kaiser-Wilhelm church and then to Die Hackenschen Hoefe (where we had an excellent coffee stop), over to Museum Island, Lustgarten, Neue Wache and finishing at Bebelplatz. We had a thoroughly brilliant morning and we would highly recommend a private tour with Seth to get the most out of your time in this amazing city.

A very good tour for someone who wants to have highlights of the city in three hours. Miha knows the city very well, and has some good stories to tell. He was very nice to recommend an exhibition that was soon to close and helped me buy ticket. We used the underground and the bus which is really helpful as he taught me how to use the transportation system. He is a very nice person, and we had great conversation during the three hours. This was the very first time that I booked through withlocals and I have to say that I probably will only want to engage in tours like this one going forward. Miha was an amazing tour guide. He was very engaging and you can tell that he loves showing people around Berlin. His knowledge of old and new Berlin was vast; like an encyclopedia of information. It was the perfect tour for a first time traveler to Berlin who wants to learn about some of the most important events and their associated locales. To start, the meeting location was perfect; right by the train station in front of the Ritz Carlton. Miha then takes you on a journey through the city and weaving all of his knowledge into the experience. Whatever question I had, Miha had an answer for. I learned so much about what Berlin was like before, during, and after the Nazi regime, as well as before and after the fall of the Berlin Wall, and how present day Berlin continues to evolve and build. It was also interesting to learn more than what I already knew about the government structure of Germany and the socialized nature of society in comparison to my country, the United States. The other great part is that being the only other person on the tour, we were able to talk about other things outside of Berlin and I liked learning more about how Miha came to live in Berlin and how he lives and what his interests are. It made the experience much more personalized and something that I will forever remember. I definitely recommend and will book through withlocals in other countries I visit. We came to Berlin as a last minute, unplanned trip and had no idea what there was to do here. Christian was the best guide. He was very friendly and easy to talk to, as well as extremely knowledgeable and able to answer our questions. The tour was really fun and personal. Jim was very knowledgeable about all aspects of Berlin, despite having lived there only a short time. He knew how to explain sites in an interesting and. humorous way. We started at Potsdamer Platz, passed through Sony Centre, toured the Holocaust Memorial, saw the Brandenburg Cate and then took a U-barn to the Jewish quarter, which was fascinating. We came back past the Berlin Cathedral, crossed over Museum Island, saw Homboldt University and the memorial to the book-burning, which was amazing, and returned to our hotel near the Brandenburg Gate. He always had an interesting story to tell about everything. 10 out of 10. It really was a Berlin highlights and hidden gems, as it title implied. Jim is a superb guide.
