Our traveling party of 8 people had a private custom tapas evening tour with Ruxandra. This is the second time that we have had a tour with her and this one was just as good if not better than the first one. She is an excellent guide who is very passionate, informative and kind. She was able to change the tour around a little for the benefit of our elderly parents. The places that she took us for food were outstanding and the history in between stops was even better. Federico is the best! And we definitely put him to the test on our tour! I originally booked a 1:1 private tour but added a few others at the last minute who happened to be dignitaries from the US with very little knowledge of (or appetite for) tapas. Federico was very accommodating, knowledgeable and most importantly, patient with us as we surely demonstrated every faux pas possible at the authentic tapas restaurants we visited. He navigated this with grace and helped our group get a better understanding of the customs and the incredible food despite some picky eaters among us. We’ll probably never get some in our group to try anchovies but we are all now fans of Barcelona’s food and culture thanks to Federico. Great experience with Federico

We had the pleasure of going on a tapas tour with a Gonzalo, a local guide and I must say, it was one of the highlights of our trip. Our guide took us to three incredible tapas restaurants that were off the beaten path and away from the usual tourist crowds. The first restaurant we went to had a cozy, authentic atmosphere and the tapas were simply delicious. Our guide recommended some local favorites and even helped us order. We tried everything and every bite was packed with flavor. The second restaurant was a hidden gem that we never would have found on our own. The atmosphere was lively and the tapas were just as impressive as the first restaurant. Our final stop was at another hidden gem. The atmosphere was fun and welcoming. Overall, Gonzalo was knowledgeable, friendly, and went above and beyond to make our experience unforgettable. Silvina is goede en vriendelijke gids. Een minpuntje is wel dat de tour als tapastour is bestempeld maar in werkelijkheid een pichostour is in één bepaalde straat (/district). De prijs is ook wat aan de hoge kant. Verder is alles top. goed, lekker en interessant

What a fun evening! Gonzalo is a super knowledgeable guide and took us to three authentic places that had delicious tapas. They were so good that we ended up ordering a few extras along the way. He told us about the history of tapas, as well as ran point on ordering us wine so we could get a flavor for the region (all were terrific). At the end of the tour, Gonzalo took us to an amazing location that’s fairly new in the area — my husband and I ended up staying and hanging out for awhile. Would definitely book another tour with Gonzalo, but would also look at WithLocals in other cities we visit — such a fantastic concept. Touring with Gonzalo is a MUST

We had a fabulous night with Moisés not only walking the neighborhood and sampling different food and drinks, but learning about them too. Moisés asked questions and learned about us and tailored his menu choices accordingly. He also shared great stories about his city. We loved our tour so much, we went back the next night to the places he showed us so that we could sample more of their delicious offerings! My only suggestion is to book this tour early in your visit so you can take advantage of all of the things you learn on the tour and Moisés’ suggestions on other things to experience in Barcelona!
