We had a wonderful time with Julian as he took us to special places we would never have known about on our own. We tasted some of the finest wine while enjoying fantastic cheese and most importantly learning about the background of Madrid as well as a history. His is So full of energy and knowledge we would use his services again and again. Julian took us to 3 off-the-beaten-path bars that offered unique tapas and drinks that we wouldn't have known on our own. He was very familiar with the area and took us to places that the locals go to. He gave us a history of the area as we passed by places. We had great conversation with Julian. He was very down to earth and we related well with him. I wish we would have scheduled this on our 1st night in Madrid instead of our last. We enjoyed it very much.Wonderful time spent with Julian

Beatriz made our first night in Madrid exceptionally better than anything we could have imagined or came up with on our own. To eat and drink and see the city with someone so knowledgeable and kind was an absolute delight. Beatriz brought us to 3 local places, ones she knew we should experience and ones she enjoyed going to herself, and at each we got to try something we had never had before! She even dropped us off at a place to enjoy dinner at the end of the tour, and again her recommendation did not disappoint. Our favorite part though had to be sharing the experience with such a thoughtful person. We learned new things like the meaning of “tapas” and left the night with a deep appreciation for Madrid. The bars and cheese vendor we visited were locals’ spots with lively ambience and gracious staff. A fun way to sample pintxos and tapas and wine (oh my) along with fantastic conversation. Marianissa is pro at making you feel comfortable and excited. We didn’t speak any Spanish and hoped for someone to guide and introduce us to the local customs of what to eat, drink and how to order and pay. Marianissa took us around the locality of Anton Martin. We sampled local drinks and food in bars and restaurants that we probably otherwise would not have understood what they had to offer. I had a great time on my tapas tour with Beatriz. She indulged me in my Spanish conversation and we talked about food and beverage in Spain and other places, too. I really liked trying the Basque country wine Txakoli and Spanish vermouth with tapas. Beatriz also recommended some TV shows on Netflix for me to watch to keep developing my Spanish skills.
