Let me start with, I love Bangkok, all people and am a patient and kind person, and I had a great tour the day before with Taungtip, so this review is not easy for me. The food was great, but the guide was impatient, not necessarily kind to me, honestly a bit rude, and I felt like I was a bother. I was a trooper, struggling with a morning taxi with school traffic, grabbing a poncho in the downpour, riding a tuk tuk with no sides in the pouring rain, and not once did I complain or ask to alter the tour, because weather can’t be helped and I’m from a wet place, so it’s all good. However, every time I tried to chat with her about good, culture or traditions or ask a question, it turned into some sort of unfriendly conversation that sometimes made me feel ridiculed and wrong. She laughed at me several times and was condescending. Maybe she was having a bad day? Maybe she didn’t like having a solo traveler? She boxed up leftovers to take home to her mom, very kind of her, but she never asked me if I’d like any. The tour wandered aimlessly, literally, and at the end of the tour when I was waiting for my Grab taxi, she literally walked away without saying goodbye. I had to chase her down to say goodbye and give her a tip. So, the food and sights and sounds were great, the guide was not. Maybe somehow I offended her without knowing? I would love to know what was wrong. Sadly, not the best day

We had the best day with Piyaporn! She is incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, and our food tour was perfect. We wanted an authentic experience with off-the-beaten-path food, and she delivered! We traveled by canal boat and tuk tuk from place to place, where she shared food and the history of each dish. We ate street food in small alleys and in Michelin guide shops. It was tailored to our taste and could not have been more perfect! Real thai cuisine!!

Me and my husband went on this tour with Piyaporn and we absolutely loved it. She showed us the market and all the food, but she also explained a lot about Thai culture and history. The old town food tour more than exceeded our expectations with visits to hidden local market stalls that have been mastering their specialty dishes for locals and royalty for many many years (some over 100 years!). The stalls were in the back streets and market areas only the locals knew about and it was amazing to enter a shop, and see a sign saying it has featured in the Michelin Guide. Some of the places we stopped at had only a couple of small plastic tables and we sat on plastic stools like the local to eat the delicious traditional food. So many different places and food to try that we had to say to Piyaporn near the end that we couldn't eat much more. The places we ate at were all very clean and it was reassuring to know that we wouldn't be struck down from eating street food. The mango sticky rice was my favourite, but every dish had its special flavour and we ended up trying new dishes we had never heard of before. The river trip on the local 'ferry' was exciting too, with us boarding and disembarking like the locals do! Piyaporn was a fantastic guide, always checking in with us with what we like and don't like (not much!) and telling us lots of interesting things about the food and stall owners. At the end I wanted to buy some spices to take home, and Piyaporn even came with us to Chinatown to show us where to buy them. This has to be one of the best food tours we have been on and would highly recommend Piyaporn to help you experience the real flavours of Bangkok. We are a family of four (2 teenagers) and we did the Eat like a local in Old Town Tour. Piyaporn was welcoming and friendly from the start and was very knowledgeable and took us to places we would never have normally gone to or seen. All 10 courses were excellent. Piyaporns tour of the old city exceeded my expectations in everyway. She is very personable and her knowledge of the history of Bangkok was very impressive. We visited very old markets, and ate from vendors that have been operating for up to 80 years in the one family. The food was amazing! The Michelin star rated Mango & Sticky rice will be the best you have ever tried. She tailored the tour to suit my interests, but also managed to show me a side of Bankok I would never have seen without her guidance. Highly recommend this tour with Piyaporn. We booked our tour of the Old Town markets of Bangkok with Piyaporn. she was a remarkable guide...friendly with very good English, and, like us , passionate about food! Although this tour involves some waking and it was a very hot day, we thought this was our best tour in Bangkok. It involves catching a water ferry up a canal with the local, as well as a couple of tuk tuk rides, so wouldn’t be suitable for people with mobility issues. For those who take this tour, there are fascinating visits to tiny food shops that you would never find alone. Some have been operating for generations and many only prepare one dish.As the tour progresses, you effectively enjoy a moving feast, enjoying wonderful authentic Thai street food , both sweet and savoury with excellent commentary from Priyaporn. We cannot rave enough or recommend more our food tour with Piyaporn. It was the absolute highlight of our 4 days in Bangkok. We walked and talked, caught local boats and tuktuk’s. Explored places you would never go as a tourist with limited time and ate fruits I didn’t know existed. The food on this tour was beyond amazing, by the end you will be totally stuffed. That mango sticky rice was 💯👌🏼 Thank you so much for our amazing day out. The insite into Thai culture and politics (it was election time), temples and religion all added to the experience, we loved it!!Best experience of Bangkok

A big thanks to Piyaporn for organizing this trip. We have travelled to Bangkok multiple times, yet she managed to show us places and areas we have never come across. We Got to experience lokal markers (literally no tourists) and traditional Thai food. Her English and humor is great, which makes for an easy going experience. Piyaporn was a wonderful guide. She showed us around this great untouristy market and made us try yummy fruits, sweets and juices. Our highlight of the canal tour was when she taught us how to fold lotus flowers and how to pray to buddha. Returning to the market she helped us finding an amazing lunch selection (also for our vegetarian teens) and gave us a superb restaurant tip for the neighborhood we stayed. We wanted to see the "more authentic" floating market experience and glad we booked the Thaka, Amphawa & Railroad market with Piyaporn. My sister and myself have been to Thailand before but have never been to the floating market and wanted a more 'local' perspective than just a chaperone between spots. Piyaporn talked about how the floating markets have changed with tourism and the times. We got to see the very touristy side of the Railroad market but also the more local side of Thaka market. The canal boat tour was a highlight. Piyaporn also catered to our interests in more local food (indulging in all the dried and salted seafood along the railroad market) and a delicious pad krapaow at Amphawa market. Note: The floating market experience might not be the same as the major tourist spot of Damnoen Saduak so set your expectations accordingly. This one felt a lot more relaxed, but you might not see as many vendors in boats and more along the sides of the canals (which I believe is more the reality of the floating markets these days). Overall, great experience and would do it again especially with Piyaporn.

We did two tours with Piya and learned so much from her. We visited a few temples in Bangkok on the first day, and were lucky enough to get to see and hear the monks chanting at Wat Suthat. Then we spent the day at Ayutthaya, and had a delicious lunch at a local restaurant. We had the absolute best time, Piya's friendly, knowledgeable, and so well-organized. We are two ladies who wanted a tour with a knowledgeable and friendly local and we got so much more. Piyaporn is super sweet and was an incredible tour guide walking us through Chinatown, Indiatown, the flower market, a foot massage, jumping in tuk tuks, wholesale fabric mart, enjoying mango sticky rice, the best Indian lunch and more!! For a Westerner, the history of Southeast Asia is complicated. Thailand is no exception. However, spending a day with Piya and exploring the amazing ruins of Ayutthaya provides a lot of insight into the the religious and political influences that were at work over the centuries. Visiting Ayutthaya with Guide Piya and a private driver was the best decision for our family of 3. Piya was funny and witty. She provided fascinating insights on the temples and ruins we visited; she guided us through sites at the optimal times to avoid crowds and with the convenience of the minivan, we had time to squeeze in a delicious lunch in our 6 hour day trip.
