Ruby gave us a great day trip outside of the bustle of downtown Hanoi. She was at all times careful to tailor the activities and schedule to our family of 4 adults and 2 young children. We especially liked the local lunch, and the spacious play area at EcoPark. Lovely guide with deep knowledge

Nice activity for families. My kids loved getting messy/artsy at the pottery place. And finally a real play ground for them afterwards. It's nice to get out of Hanoi city with someone local and see some hidden spots. Only thing I didn't like was transportation, so we were crammed in a small car with 6 people. For the way back it was a different driver/car. But I guess that's the vietnamese way of life. In general Ruby was very kind and the kids loved her.

Ms. Ruby provided an excellent experience in the Bat Trang pottery village for us. It was a perfect way to spend our last day in Vietnam, although for the sake of our projects I wish we had toured with her earlier! She met us at our hotel with a taxi and explained the history of the village to us as we drove through. She was an excellent translator and helped us understand what the pottery masters taught us about the traditional pottery wheel, and told us all about the process and kiln. She even used our cameras to take photos of us, so we could enjoy the activity. She thoughtfully coordinated lunch to meet my kids’ picky eating habits in a foreign country— we had homemade pork buns and banh cuom from a local restaurant. And we got to watch the food being prepared. During our visit to the pottery market, she helped translate between us and the vendors, and helped us find some good deals on quality ceramics. Those purchases were the only out of pocket expense we had during the tour. My only regret is not touring with her earlier— the pottery we made on the wheel and then painted was not able to be dried glazed and set in the kiln because the shop cannot ship to the states and it is a four day process. We were able to pack our projects and take them home, but will have to finish them at a local pottery shop out of pocket instead of in Bat Trang. I recommend booking this tour no matter what, but for the best experience plan on going at least four days before you leave so you can have finished products to take home. One of the best days we had from Hanoi. Very kid friendly and hands on, and a good break from the hustle and crowds in Hanoi. Ms. Ruby was friendly, and accommodating, and was a joy to spend the day with.Great Family Activity with Great Guide.

We had such an amazing experience on this trip. Firstly it was great to get out of the hustle and bustle of Hanoi's crazy streets. Ruby was simply wonderful with the kids, in fact they spent ages chatting away with her about almost everything. We pretty had the pottery place to our self and spent a good few hours making our creations. We then had a walk around the local town and enjoyed some local food before heading back and painting our pots. After we was taken to the Eco Park which provided a both beautiful and fun few hours. Where the kids got to play in the play ground and got to explore the botanical gardens. Overall a brilliant day in which Ruby truly was outstanding and helpful.Our best day in Hanoi.

Ruby is humorous. Our family and our kids like her a lot. She is a fun and lovely tour guide. We were so lucky to have her as our locals. She is also a great photographer too. Ruby planned an exceptional afternoon for us in Hanoi, one of the best we’ve had on our travels. Ruby is a fantastic guide. She is easy to be around, speaks English well, passes along knowledge to make the city come to life, and has amazing tips and tricks that saved us time and discomfort. I won’t share any of these tips and tricks because those are part of what make it well worth it to do a tour with Ruby. Even after the tour was done we followed Ruby’s recommendations for a silk shop, restaurant, and spa and all were great. I would highly recommend Ruby to anyone considering booking a guide in Hanoi. And, I highly recommend anyone going to Hanoi book at least one day with a guide- it’ll make the city so much more accessible and easy to navigate for your entire time in Hanoi. She enhanced our Hanoi experience!!

Ruby was engaging, speaks good English and knows her stuff well. I would highly recommend this tour With Locals (more than Viator or Get your Guide) and make sure to get Ruby. Ruby has introduced us to really good food in Hanoi and some of it are Michelin. Because of this, our standard for other food tours have increased too! :-) We love Hanoi food because of this tour! :-) My only recommendation is to include Pancakes in the tour as this is something unusual for tourists where you get to wrap the pancake in a rice noodle!Best food tour ever!

We were interested in seeing an area of Hanoi that doesn't typically attract tourists, and Ruby gave us a great tour of markets, alleys, and apartment buildings that we wouldn't have discovered on our own. I highly recommend booking this as one of the first things you do when you get into Hanoi.. it'll make dinning out for the rest of your trip stress free and so much more fun! This is a little more money than some of the tours on TripAdvisor and Airbnb.. but the experience is well worth it. Ruby is an absolute gem and a wealth of knowledge of food and just Hanoi in general. My partner and I had the best time with her trying so many delicious dishes and checking out the local hot spots.This is worth every penny!

We really enjoyed our walk around Nghia Tan with Ruby. We enjoyed the local market and hearing and seeing how Vietnamese live and work. Ruby is a great host with an enthusiastic personality, and lots of stories to share. We asked a lot of questions and Ruby was happy to answer them. Ruby was our first guide in Vietnam. She’s very intelligent and well spoken. She taught us a lot about the history of the country. Ruby was a wonderful guide on our food tour yesterday. We had arrived in Hanoi only minutes before the tour started. We were feeling overwhelmed and uncertain about eating in our new surroundings! Ruby put us at ease and we started to enjoy trying many new things. My husband and I shared portions and we ended up very full. Almost too much food! Ruby was funny and interesting to visit with.
