Gabriele was amazing! He is very personable and makes you feel like you're friends almost instantly. We took a tour with him on the last day of our Italy trip and learned a lot in a very short time window. My wife and I brought our two boys and they were being very picky, grumpy and generally just wanted to go home. Claudia does an amazing job of integrating culture, history and food. My 11 year old and 15 year old were both involved and ate everything! The food was great. What I’ve learned through nearly 40 years of travel is that nothing beats seeing a new place through the eyes of a local. To that end, Amandio didn’t disappoint. My daughter and I were blown away by the authenticity and deep local feel of our time spent with Amandio. To be honest, I wasn’t expecting much from ‘The 10 Tastings of Rome’ in terms of hidden gems in city full of incredible cuisine; literally everywhere you turn in Rome there’s a stunning menus of delights and welcoming hospitality staff that can’t do enough for you - but what my wife and I experience during our 3 hours with Gabriele was exceptional! Now, we did have the good fortune of catching some moments to remember in the churches we visited en route, (we went on a Sunday afternoon) but for us it was a fabulous 3 hours exploring the nooks and crannies of Rome that would never show up on a more commercial tour. Fabulous flavours, immersed in historical anecdotes, all washed down with some ‘Meloncello’ (not sure that’s even a thing!) Enjoy the time with your host, expect a ‘flavour experience’ rather than a sit-down 10 course meal, but above all, enjoy the knowledge Gabriele shared to make the final day in Rome for us, very special indeed.It’s all about the host!

Myself, my wife and our daughter thoroughly enjoyed our time with Vania who is a real Roman. We did the tour in the early evening and the amount of food that we tasted was more than enough for our usual evening meal. Vania steered us to foods and flavors that are uniquely Roman. The small establishments that she chose for us were a testament to the artisanal nature of their craft and also ones that she frequents with her family and friends. Claudia was fantastic. The fact that she is a pastry chef meant she really knew food and gave us tips for do’s and don’t’s that have proven spot-on for our week in Rome. Massimo gave us one of the best experiences of our entire trip to Rome. He took us to incredibly unique spots that we never would’ve found on our own—far from the typical tourist trail. My family and I had a great food tour with Gabriele. We tried lots of traditional Roman foods and got a glimpse of the local history in the old town area. We tried a lot of samples of snacks and did not leave hungry. He showed us the best porchetta I've ever had, and we returned the next day to taste more! We booked Massimo as our guide for a food tour through Rome’s historic center. We were a group of 3 adults and 2 children, ages 8 and 4. Massimo was an incredible guide, and our 3 hours with him were among the best and most memorable experiences of our entire trip. Massimo’s stories about the history of the area really brought the neighborhoods to life and gave us a deeper understanding and appreciation for streets we had walked on many times before. He kept the kids engaged the entire time as well. His guidance was incredibly valuable because some of the most authentic foods and locations are hidden amid tourist traps. As a group of 7 female friends from the UK, Nico was fantastic. He was so knowledgable and able to answer all our questions. The food was excellent and we all tried things we would never have. I would recommend Francesca, specifically, if you want to do a food tour in Rome. It was especially helpful for us as first time visitors to Rome. Meeting spot was great, food variety worked really well for us, and it’s exactly what we needed as an introduction to local Roman and Italian food. Francesca‘s knowledge of food and her relationships at the market and different restaurants made the tour feel like it was a lot more than just showing us spots and dishes to order, but a great time learning about history, culture, and the nuances of local food. Conversation was great, she was so easy to be with for three hours, and she even gave us some incredible recommendations after the tour for other spots we could explore. Favorite stops were food tasting in the market, the most amazing pizza, and a spot with fresh suppli. Almost forgot the gelato! Now that I think about it, everything was pretty amazing!
