Arun was a great guide and knowledgeable about the history of the neighborhood. Our feedback would be to add a few more stops and some more food? It started at 7:30 and by 10pm (the end) we had really only had food at one of the stops. We were hungry and had to find a place for dinner at a late hour. Great idea- but maybe add more food?

We met up with Olga on our first night in Amsterdam, after a less than optimal travel day. We were instantly comfortable with Olga and proceeded to take our tour. Olga was friendly, comforting, and knowledgeable, and we would recommend her highly. It was a great beginning to our trip. We enjoyed the drinks and the bites, and the tour in general. My husband and I had a great time with Claudio in the Jordaan! He is friendly and knowledgeable and We really enjoyed talking to him. We hadn’t been to the Jordaan before, so he showed us around and gave us suggestions for things to come back to, like the Monday morning market at North Church and an alternative to Winkel 43 for amazing apple pie. We sat outside of a really cute brown bar in a lovely plaza and had beer and snacks and chatted before resuming our walk. It was our first night in Amsterdam, and talking to Claudio was a perfect way to get oriented. Everyone should visit the Jordaan, and it’s even better with Claudio. We highly recommend this tour! Perfect first evening in Amsterdam

We thoroughly enjoyed our Beer and Bites walking tour with Ente. Met us on time at the appointed meeting place and started with a brief history of Amsterdam. He pointed out unique architectural features and history of buildings as we walked through the Jordaan neighborhood. The two cafes we stopped at where filled with locals and we enjoyed the cheese selection at one and the Bitterballen at the other. Arun was great in taking time to understand what we needed. He was patient and took us round explaining the Dutch history and architecture, the canals and the history between each, he took time to take us to picturesque places where we got amazing shots. It is worth paying a guide so as to get a local's version of Amsterdam, and recommendations of other things to do and places to eat. His recommendations were great. I highly recommend him!Fantastic!

Elvina was super punctual and in fact was waiting for me, and I was 5 mins early. I had someone else take me through the city earlier and booked the Red Light District tour with Elvina. She was super knowledgeable about the history and new the area really well. Guided me though the are explaining how things worked and more importantly the culture and dos and don't when it comes to the Red Light district. Very educational and I enjoyed the tour. The best tour I have been on. We were shown things that were not in any guide books or on the Web, and the knowledge Elise had was excellent. We saw the side of Amsterdam I would never had known was there. Free ferry rides we never knew about so you could travel to 3 different areas at no cost. A great tour ending at the old ship yards with the best graffiti we had ever seen, and all allowed. Great area to see Thank you Elise for making our holiday memories that will last a life time. I did a 5 hour walking hour with Elvina and it honestly felt like much longer. Elvina is patient even prior to our tour and accommodated all the changes I had to make. I saw so many places, learnt so many things and ate the most delicious apple pie. She share alot of information in a clear, systematic and witty manner at an eas pace which I really loved. She constantly checked on me to see if I needed anything. I laughed alot with her and she helped to take very nice photos which I most grateful for. I literally passed many houses with little secrets which I now know about, thanks to Elvina. There were also a couple of surprise locations. Jan came prepared. I booked this walking tour just for myself. It was also a same day, last minute booking. I decided to book through withlocals after reading an article online recommending the service as it’s #1 must-do thing for first timers in Amsterdam. I was not disappointed. Jan’s tour was a non-stop tour filled with historical knowledge & cultural experience rooted in his 40-years of living in Amsterdam. During one of our stops at “Blue” which had a tremendous 360 degree view, Jan shared at great depth about discotheques & popular Dutch snacks. Jan also clearly has relationships with many of the service workers at the various stops. He came with a binder full of images, diagrams and sketches that grounded our conversation throughout the walking tour. I highly recommend Jan as a tour guide. We had a lovely tour of Amsterdam with our tour guide Elvina. We had never taken a "Withlocals" type of tour before. The experience of being shown around Amsterdam on a private tour with someone who did not deliver a rehearsed speech was our favorite outing in Amsterdam. Elvina made us feel like we were old friends of hers visiting her in Amsterdam.
