We did the opera tour with Carlos and his deep knowledge of the Opera Garnier was evident. It elevated our experience at the historical landmark. Our tour then proceeded to other locations that are linked to the history of Opera and music in Paris. The day we went for the tour turned out to be rainy and cold yet however Mr Carlos made us feel very warm. He was very graceful, patient and open to questions. Most enjoyable. We were impressed with Carlos' knowledge of past and present musical Paris. Of particular interest was our tour of the Opera House where we learned so much about Parisian musical history. Leafing through the second-hand music was worthwhile, and at the end the pianist got to try out a piano and play a 4-hand duet. The musical theme is not often found on city tours and was an unexpected pleasure. thanksOne of the high points of our trip!

Carlos was extremely accommodating to the specific locations my wife and I wanted to see. Carlos also allowed us to change the day of our tour, as we originally booked the tour during a day with poor weather. Carlos was extremely knowledgeable and was kind throughout! On the way to meet Carlos for our tour, I discovered I was another victim of a Paris Metro pickpocket. While I was careful to guard my wallet, holding on while standing exposed my holstered mobile phone. Carlos helped us get to the third police station to file a report (the first two claimed to be unable to do so) and to communicate with the authorities to facilitate this process. After we completed the report, we set about on the tour and Carlos helped us to take our minds off the potential consequences of the information possibly in the wrong hands. We benefited from his personable demeanor and knowledge of the sights we planned to visit. Anyone electing to choose Carlos should be more than pleased with that engagement. Carlos is a delight

Hernan was kind and answered very quickly when we were looking for a last minute tour since we canceled our plans due to the heat wave in Paris. Even though he didn't talk too much during the tour. We had to ask him continuously to know the history of the surroundings, having us to take the lead of the conversation which was unexpected. Not bad, could be better

Carlos was my guide to see Notre Dame. It was easy to meet him there, since he was attentive and responsive to texts. He was very helpful and thoughtful in making it easy for me to navigate the crowds on my mobility scooter. He taught me a lot about Notre Dame’s history and restoration. He explained the artwork in all the chapels and even sat with me to pray for a few minutes in front of the Crown of Thorns. I couldn’t have asked for a more thorough or interesting tour! We’re an older couple and because this was the first of four Withlocals tours, we were worried about the pace. But Carlos adapted perfectly and let us rest when needed. We had gotten to Paris and it was beautiful and all but it still felt dull. Carlo’s did a great job of bringing the city to life through its rich and long history. We took the 2.5 hour Walking Tour of Le Marais w/ Carlos Hernan. We arrived 10 minutes late (apologies again, Carlos!) and you simply could not ask for a more patient, knowledgeable, enjoyable guide than Carlos. No matter what small thing we pointed at “what’s that?” “what’s that?” “what’s that?” Carlos enthusiastically answered each question with a real depth of knowledge. I have no idea how, but Carlos exudes/creates a bubble of soothing zen calmness in what can be, at times, a slightly chaotic area of Paris, and that aspect boosted the overall experience (which was already great). Carlos was a joy!

Our group all found Carlos' tour to be excellent. Softly spoken with a wonderful demeanour he showed us parts of the Latin Quarter and shared fascinating history of the area in a way that we would have not have managed if we had been on our own. Carlos was a wonderful tour guide! It was our first full day in Paris and our first time visiting ever so we were very excited for this tour. We didn’t really give Carlos any guidance on what we wanted to see, but it was a PERFECT tour to start off our week in Paris. Our tour lasted the full 3 hours and was full of interesting stops, big monuments, historic anecdotes, and lots of unique perspectives that only a local would have. We had a very leisurely pace which was ideal for the long tour, but still saw so many things in this time frame!
