As an advanced photographer I was looking for someone to show me the nice location in Amsterdam, and this I must say Phil sure did. Phil is a great guide, photographer, and sounding board. Being a photographer myself, I enjoyed the photo walk through Amsterdam with Phil and had a truly inspirational experience. My wife and I are amateur photographers, so we planned a photography-themed trip to Amsterdam to celebrate her birthday. We found Phil through 'withlocals', and are very glad we did. Not only is Phil an accomplished professional photographer, but he knows all the hidden gems of Amsterdam. We learned some basics of street photography, like finding a "perfect frame," then waiting for a subject to walk or bicycle through. A bit of patience makes all the difference between a boring shot and a superb Instagram-worthy photograph. We also booked two additional custom trips with Phil, so we could go shoot in Haarlem, Zaanse Schans, and Utrecht. He coordinated all the logistics, and even picked us up at our hotel in a private car. Overall, it was a great experience. We learned some valuable tips on photography, but we also had a great time walking around the area with Phil. He is a very charismatic individual. I highly recommend his tour, whether photography is your main interest, or just for sightseeing off the beaten path.Best way to see Amsterdam...!

Phil knows all small streets of Amsterdam intimately, but also plenty of useful Apps that make your photos shine in Instagram. We live in Amsterdam and have admired Phil's posts on Instagram. Curious to find out where his favorite spots are, we signed up for this Withlocals tour and spent a great Saturday morning together despite the gray/rainy weather (typical Amsterdam). Phil's warm and funny personality made us feel comfortable asking questions and he gave us some really great photo tips, whether they be of sights or of people. We spent a great two hours with Phil snapping photos and learning tips and techniques to unique and memorable photos of the sights in Amsterdam! Phil was warm, passionate about what he does, and excited to share his knowledge with us. I only wish we had more time to do a longer tour and get a more in-depth account of his favorite spots in Amsterdam, but we will plan on returning and touring again with Phil during Tulip Season! Phil's Instatour was one of the highlights of our trip to Amsterdam. He was incredibly attentive in setting up the tour and very flexible in the arrangements (making sure that we ended the tour at a museum where we had a previous reservation). The tour is described as helping improve your Instagram pictures but the techniques Phil taught us are applicable to all phone photography. He is very patient and seemed to have all the time in the world to help us take the perfect photograph. Phil was wonderful in sharing with us hidden gems, IG photo tips and local secrets. Can’t get a better value for private photo shoot choosing one final print comp, walking tour and plain good conversation. Phil has a way of putting people at ease and we never felt self conscious when he was taking pictures, and the imaginative IG tips helped us tremendously with technique. Highly recommend. we had a very nice trip with Phil,a professional social influencer and photographer! with him we dived into the inster-world and learned how to professionalize smartphone pics by using app tools etc. Especially our children found it very cool and inspiring for their instergramm activities. Who knew that an iphone 5 could do so much? I booked the tour for my daughter who loves instagram and images. I have an instagram account for business and rarely use it - Instagram is not 'my thing' or wasn't. I am a convert. Phil was able to meet the needs of both of his guests - my entirely competent and enthusiastic daughter discovered new functions on her iphone and camera (as did I). I was told of amazing apps, given video for business tips and encouraged to engage with the instagram community. Phil was kind and enthusiastic and patient & he takes a wicked portrait. All of this, and we had such fun. We saw parts of the city that had remained hidden in the previous 2 days of our visit. When Phil left us we retraced our steps - we had to go back to the small streets and interesting buildings. Phil will be with us in every new city and when we take (reallly quite impressive) images. We had such fun and learned a lot.
