We had the pleasure of spending a few hours with Chafik wandering around the Souks, Medina and Madrasa Ben Youssef as a family of four. We asked to see how Moroccan people lived and worked with the Medina and had some wonderful experiences seeing bread/meat being cooked and watching craftsmen at work. We absolutely would not have had the same experiences walking on our own. Chafik made the tour fun and informative for our two children and we all had a great time. We had a great short tour (2.5 hours) with Adil in Marrakech, and it honestly felt like the perfect intro to the city. Right from the start, he was super welcoming – even treated us to a local “beer” and some doughnuts, which was such a nice, unexpected touch. Adil was really knowledgeable but kept everything light and easy to follow. He answered all our questions with a smile and made sure we were comfortable the whole time. We asked if we could pop into a herbal/perfume shop along the way, and he was happy to fit it in. Even though it was a short tour, we felt like we saw and learned a lot. Hassan and his able assistant showed us a great time round Marrakech visiting the non-tourist side of the souks and old Marrakesh. He adapted the schedule to suit our needs and coped with 10 of us no problem. Essential trip, even if you’ve been to the main tourist parts of Marrakech before. My husband and I booked a bespoke medina tour with Redouan to seek artisanal craft and he really delivered. We were taken to see handmade leather goods, beautiful brass lighting, antique doors and ceramics, Berber jewellery and rugs, handmade ceramic tiles…….. There was no pressure to buy but we will go back on our own when we’ve had a think as to which goods we actually want. I would definitely recommend him and would book with him again. Redouan was the ideal guide for our family of 2 adults and 2 girls (age 5 & 8). We did the tour on day 1 of our stay in Marrakesh which was perfect to find our bearings and ear mark places to go on other days. Showed us parts of Marrakech we would have completely missed on our own, taking us through the artisans quarters and having the craftsmen he knows show and explain their work and it’s history. My family and I had a wonderful stroll through the hustle and bustle of Marrakesh. Never having been there I was a bit wary of what it would be like but Mohamed immediately put us to ease with his friendly conversation and interesting facts. He spoke often to our daughters and included them in games and trivia about Morocco. We passed live film sets, all sorts of markets and stalls and had a lovely coffee break so the girls could replenish their energy. Mohamed was full of tips and recommendations. We booked him in the morning which was a great thing because we had a full afternoon to back track to things we passed that needed further exploration and to visit some of the many recommendations he had. 10/10 would do again. First time visitors to Marrakech, we only had a couple of full days to enjoy the city and wanted to make the most of it. I cant think of a better way to do it than spend a few hours in the company of Redouan. He is friendly and will go out of his way to make sure you see the best, We wanted to focus on the souks and we didnt come back empty handed. Redouan took us on a brilliant tour, made sure we were looked after and saw us safely to a taxi to take us back to our hotel. We learned so much from him and thoroughly enjoyed talking to him about our lives and his as he navigated the labyrinth of the souks. His friendly style was great for our 10 year old son. We had an interesting walk through the Medina, the convoluted passages and the souks. Redouan gave us interesting insights into the history and culture of the area. He took us to several artisan workshops and introduced us to the owners - it was nice to have some personal contact, which would have been more difficult on our own. He was helpful and patient when it came to photography (a particular interest of ours) and was generous with his time; we did not feel under any pressure to rush. Having had this introduction to the souks, we felt much more confident to go back on our own on another occasion.
