The initial connect with Cesar over Whatsapp was very pleasant, it was very easy to find him at the meeting point. We started at the Fresh Market where he showed us some nice tastings that we would have never stopped for. Then we continued to a tapas shop accross the square were we had Paella and fried shrimps. We continued to see a few more sights, and also the Silk Exchange where Cesar shared interesting historical facts. Overall Cesar is a very friendly guide, he could be a bit more sharing on own initiative but we consider this a minor point. Lovely tour through Valencia

We had an amazing experience, and we highly recommend Marcos. We felt like we had a friend showing us around Valencia not just a tour guide. He is very knowledgeable and has excellent communication skills. He made our experience personal like we were part of his family. We normally use Rick Steves walking tours form his books or audio guides when we first get to a city, but in this case, we invested a little in getting a guide. What a great tour - I did a private tour so just the 2 of us and we covered everything… from deep questions about history to the best restaurants to go to. We had a great tour with Cesar. The communication with the meeting point was all clear and Cesar was incredibly knowledgeable and proud of Valencia. He asked us what we liked and how much local info we wanted to hear, which was great. The food stops were places that were generally used by locals and his recommendations were great. He also explained why he’d chosen the dishes and their connection to Valencia. Cesar has a great sense of humour and it felt as though we were with a friend rather than a tour guide on another booking. Marcos gave us a great tour. He had difficult circumstances with the holiday and the power cut but coped with a smile and adapted the tour to suit us. Loved the history and the architecture. Marcos is easy to talk to and it felt more like a friend taking us around the city. He also sent us a load of information and photos afterwards which was helpful for our next few days. Only comment is that it would have been useful to know that some places were closed on a public holiday as we didn’t realise that and may have chosen a different day - but it was not a problem - only reason for a 9 not a 10. I really love Withlocals and try to use it whenever we are in a new city. Super Tour!

I and my 3 children (8y,10y and 14y) went on a city trip to Valencia and I was looking for a kind of guide who could make a tour interesting for children. After a long search I came across Marcos 'family tour' advertisement. He felt good and so I booked his family tour Valencia. It is always a bit exciting, because certainly the youngest of 8 years old does not speak English (the other does well), except for a few words and therefore there is a degree of difficulty to get such a child involved in a tour where English is spoken. However, Marcos was really fantastic and through patience, interaction, but also by paying attention to each child, he made sure that each child understood his story or question. Of course I sometimes translated a bit for my youngest child. What really gave his tour power, was by working with images and a local tasting. I am a culture and history freak myself, but he also fascinated me with his stories about about the city, which was very educational for me too. In 3 hours he took us through the old city and took us to a number of sights. Marcos fascinated us enormously and we quickly formed a bond. This is very nice. It was a pity that he was going on holiday the next day, otherwise I would have booked another tour with him immediately. Marcos also does customized tours if you want that. His communication is very fast, which we Dutch people really like. If you are looking for a quality guide, then Marcos is the right person for you. Thank you very much and when I come back I will book him again.High recommended family tour guide

The tour with Marcos was a highlight of València. We really enjoyed how engaging and knowledgeable Marcos was, the three hours flew by and we learned so much about the city. It really gave us a greater appreciation for the city. You can’t appreciate how nice it is to have a small group tour tailored for your questions and interests until you do it. What a fantastic 3.5 hours. A superb teacher who brought the old and the new of Valencia to life. A history lesson, recommendations on where to go by ourselves and Spanish lessons for my daughter as we toured the highlights of this beautiful city. I felt very sorry for the packed generic tours .. whilst we had a totally bespoke tour catering to exactly what we wanted to learn, taste in the market and plan for other days. Omdat we eerder in Valencia zijn geweest en hier wat langer verblijven hadden we de wens om weg te blijven van de highlights van Valencia, maar juist de wat meer verborgen juweeltjes te zien. Het werd een zeer bijzondere en informatieve wandeling naar plekken die we anders zeker niet hadden ontdekt. Met veel interessante verhalen over de stad. We can't say enough good about the amazing tour of Valencia with Marcos. He was the perfect host! We rode through the old town, stopping at sights along the way when Marcos would explain the history, culture, and meaning of each place. He used his ipad to show us photos of old Valencia and how it's grown to the city of today. We also biked through the center of the city and along the park bike path to the Opera House, Science Museum, and the CaixaForum. We felt like we saw so much of the city and really got an excellent overview of its history and geography. Marco answered all our many, many questions and sent us information about things to see and restaurants to visit - it was above and beyond. We booked a bike tour with Cesar to introduce beautiful Valencia to our friends who were visiting from Germany. Cesar was a very friendly and knowledgeable guide. He took us through parts of the old centre - stopping at various places of interest to explain the history. The ride through the Turia park leading towards Santiago Calatrava's stunning cultural leisure complex was great fun. On excellent cycle routs Cesar led us back to the old town where we stopped at the market hall. Being a chef by profession Cesar is also passionate about food and gave us some wonderful recommendations for places to eat which we tried in due course. Totally recommend!Great Bike Tour
