Arun was a great guide and knowledgeable about the history of the neighborhood. Our feedback would be to add a few more stops and some more food? It started at 7:30 and by 10pm (the end) we had really only had food at one of the stops. We were hungry and had to find a place for dinner at a late hour. Great idea- but maybe add more food?

We met up with Olga on our first night in Amsterdam, after a less than optimal travel day. We were instantly comfortable with Olga and proceeded to take our tour. Olga was friendly, comforting, and knowledgeable, and we would recommend her highly. It was a great beginning to our trip. We enjoyed the drinks and the bites, and the tour in general. My husband and I had a great time with Claudio in the Jordaan! He is friendly and knowledgeable and We really enjoyed talking to him. We hadn’t been to the Jordaan before, so he showed us around and gave us suggestions for things to come back to, like the Monday morning market at North Church and an alternative to Winkel 43 for amazing apple pie. We sat outside of a really cute brown bar in a lovely plaza and had beer and snacks and chatted before resuming our walk. It was our first night in Amsterdam, and talking to Claudio was a perfect way to get oriented. Everyone should visit the Jordaan, and it’s even better with Claudio. We highly recommend this tour! We thoroughly enjoyed our Beer and Bites walking tour with Ente. Met us on time at the appointed meeting place and started with a brief history of Amsterdam. He pointed out unique architectural features and history of buildings as we walked through the Jordaan neighborhood. The two cafes we stopped at where filled with locals and we enjoyed the cheese selection at one and the Bitterballen at the other. My father and I had already spent several days in Amsterdam doing most of the touristy stuff (museums, canal tour, etc) and to have a local like Olga share her expertise and knowledge helped elevate our time here. We had already seen most of the things she showed us, but never knew what it was. Many of the things she showed us were truly hidden gems you might read about in a guide book but never find on your own! Truly a worthwhile experience. Olga was super kind and showed us lots of good food spots as well (including the best Stroopwaffel and other things)! Olga is a must for booking this tour. Incredible experience

Jen Willem was just fabulous. I am the wrong side of 70, and I was travelling with a 19-year-old - Jen Willem listened to our specific requests and took us on a route that included places I am sure we would not have found on our own - this was our first time in Amsterdam. He is clearly passionate about his beautiful city, and is full not only of facts and figures but interesting stories that bring places alive. We wanted someone to show us around the less-travelled NSDM area of Amsterdam. Elvina a was just great, had a good knowledge of the area and we really enjoyed our time. She was patient as we wandered through the museum and then directed us to a great restaurant and suggested a number of dishes to try. Ever helpful, on our departure, she suggested a number of places in central Amsterdam to eat and drink - and she was right, the one we made it to was wonderful. I had so much fun on this windmill and that factory cheese tour with Olga. She is very friendly and knowledgeable. I got to see the windmills and learn all about their history. I got to visit at Judge cheese factory and try all the different types of cheeses they had. I also got to see how wooden Dutch shoes are made (very cool). She was so polite by holding my bags when I wanted to take pictures, waiting for me to pick out souvenirs, waiting for me to enjoy some ice cream, and etc.. I almost twisted my ankle while walking with her and she literally stopped me from falling on the ground. She was also nice enough to offer to pick me up from my hotel versus me having to pay a taxi. Olga is very nice, and very professional. I highly recommend this tour! Highly recommended tour

I had alerted Olga to the fact that I walk rather slowly using a walking aid. Olga set a gentle pace but nevertheless we covered the principal sights as well as some special corners of central Amsterdam. Olga combined historical facts with fascinating background material. Elvina met with us at short notice and the weather was awful, very wet and windy, however despite this she was friendly and cheerful. Our walk through the red light district was interesting and informative with a welcome pit stop halfway round for traditional Dutch apple pie. One minor comment; a better class of bike would have made the experience that much better as navigating the city on a bike is a thrilling experience, but would be nice not to have to worry about the bike. I strongly recommend this tour as a way in to the city. And give Olga my highest recommendation as guide. She was very knowledgeable, professional, with a good sense of humor and timing, and lots of fascinating tidbits about the city. She showed me many hidden spots that would have been so easy to overlook. I was worried that 3 hours might be long, but she timed it well and filled it with exactly the right balance of history and culture and architecture and art, so that it flew by. Arum was nice and knowledgeable about the history of local foods. It was mostly a stroll through a local street market, tasting an eclectic mix of Dutch and ethnic-inspired Dutch foods, though we ended early due to exhaustion on the part of some of our group. We tried delicious “Pom” sandwiches, Gouda cheeses, Dutch pancakes, and unexpected pairing of Dutch apple pie and draft beer, fried fish (we declined the herring), and ended with bitterballen. I don’t think this was a foodie’s “best of Amsterdam” tour, but rather an introduction to different foods found here that you may not encounter elsewhere. Arun spoke quickly and softly so it was difficult at times for some in our 6-person group to hear what he was saying. Having said that, we didn’t all do an especially good job sticking close by, though we did have to ask him to repeat himself a few times for those who couldn’t catch his words. If we had been a bit more energetic I think it might have been more fun, unfortunately we had had a long day and ran out of steam before we got through all the stops. The thing most important to know is that this is rather eclectic in terms of the order of tasting things - from cheese to butter soaked sugar cakes to beer, so prepare your stomach accordingly. And be sure to bring water to wash it all down. Good intro to Amsterdam Int’l Food Scene

History aspect of the tour was great, Olga showed us a lot of cool things we wouldn't have known about. Her personality was unapproachable though. She was quite dismissive if we asked questions, kinda giving us a "duh" answer when we asked everyday life questions. Robotic with her story telling. I really like withlocals and this was the first time I am writing a poorer review of someone. For reference we are mid 30 year olds from Chicago. Good history but unpersonable
