Andrea was a great guide, very knowledgeable and helpful. This was booked as a gift for my mother -- a very well read Jane Austen and Regency era person -- and she loved it! She had a great time chatting with Andrea about all the historical facts and aspects of this time period in London. Andrea was also very flexible when we needed to reschedule and adjust the timing. My girlfriend and I greatly enjoyed meeting Andreea; she is a lovely young lady who is clearly passionate about this period of history in London. She showed us some interesting places around town that we wouldn’t have found on our own, and she researched some little-known facts that you wouldn’t find on normal websites et cetera. However, I had lots of questions about the background of the Regency period which unfortunately she was unable to answer, not even quite straightforward ones. Most significantly, I was surprised that the Regency walk had no mention of the Prince Regent in terms of his egregious personality and his influence and reputation at the time, something that I would have thought would be absolutely central to the walk. If you know nothing about Regency London at all and would like a bit of gentle background, while enjoying a beautiful walk around London, this walk would be absolutely ideal. If you already have a reasonable amount of knowledge on this topic, then I wouldn’t recommend it. I am reflecting this in my price value rating; I felt I was paying for Andreea’s time rather than for any detailed historical knowledge. None of this is to say that it wasn’t a pleasure to meet Andreea and spend time with her. Pleasant afternoon, lacking in substance.

We had a wonderful tour with Andreea. Not only is she incredible knowledgeable about Regency/Georgian London, but she shared all the information in a way that made it feel personal. For many of the areas we visited, she showed pictures of what the place would have looked like during the Regency period, allowing us to visualize better where we were. She also checked in with me beforehand on what our interests were, so she could customize the tour for us. We could not have had a better experience. It was absolutely worth the cost to have a private tour. Exceeded all expectations.

Andreea was an excellent tour host. She is very knowledgeable about the Regency Period and led us from Hyde Park and Rotton Row to the parks and shops of Mayfair, through Trafalgar Sqare and on to the theaters of Covent Garden. Along the way she did not miss a thing! We liked that she stopped to show us some sites unrealted to the regency period like where the Beatles held their final rooftop performance. Our tour with Andreea let us get our bearings in the city and I highly, highly recommend this as your first activity in London if you are confused about getting around in the city. She gave us excellent recommendations about the rest of our trip including where we might enjoy afternoon tea and get a free view of the city from Sky Garden at Tate Modern Museum. She also gave my wife new reading recommendations for the Regency Period. We are giving her 9/10 hearts because it was sometimes hard to hear her because of all the city noise, but we thoroughly enjoyed our tour and thought it was well worth the price. Andreea asked us ahead of time If we had any special interests and using our list did her homework and planned a route which covered all of our wishes. She was very pleasant to be with and we enjoyed our time with her. If we asked a question she could answer it most of the time and if she didn't know, she looked it up on the spot. She had many interesting details and knew her way around the city. Andreea is friendly but reserved, knowledgeable yet not intimidating and walking with her is a refreshing, pleasant experience. The choice of landmarks is just right to pique the interest of everyone in the family. She carried pictures of places as they were in the past, reconstructing the glory of the monuments with what remains today. She had an interesting story to tell about everything. London can be a very crowded city with many things to see. Andreea did a wonderful job of making sure we saw the best of the sights and at the same time avoided many of the crowds. When we travel abroad we like to explore cities at a slower to moderate pace. During our time with Andreea she adjusted and we walked and used the Tube to maximize our coverage of the city's sights. Due to a missed flight connection at Gatwick while heading to USA from Prague, my wife and I decided to spend a few days touring London. Since it was our first time, and we had previously had great experience with WithLocals in Central Europe, we logged on and were lucky to find Andreea available the next day. We explained our interests and she responded that we'd go off the standard walk plan a bit to focus on our requests. From the Barbican we proceeded to tour historic London as well as the new London - this city has done very well at integrating widely varying architecture. During the walk, Andreea told us much about London's history as well as current events and was able to answer our questions too. We used the information to plan our next few days of touring on our own - we couldn't have planned it so well without Andreea's advice. Near the end of our walk I noticed Andreea on her phone, apparently texting. But no! She was actually researching our request for good quality fish & chips, and we seamlessly ended our tour a a pub near Leicester Square where the lunch was just what we'd asked for.Lucky in London
