She was a great storyteller- very engaging. Kept the interest of my teenage granddaughters . She tailored the tour based on what we had already seen . We booked the tour last minute and she was available in 2 hours time . Explained the history in a very fun and easy to understand way and kept the entire tour tied together in one ongoing story . I would absolutely recommend her and will definitely try to have her as a guide again when we come back . Very knowledgeable and I learned things that previous tour guides never shared . My friend and I were on a quick visit with just 2 days in Florence. We wanted to see and learn as much as we could in that time. Matteo was fantastic. We couldn’t rate him highly enough. He showed us all of the main parts that Florence is famous for but he also showed us things and shared information about parts of the city we would never have seen or known otherwise. He spent a lot of time with us and was not put off by the rain nor scorching sun. He showed us some great eating places, spritz and wine bars and a great gelato shop. We struggled with trains an were unable to get from Cinque Terre to Florence in time. Dina and Virginia were great. They tried to accommodate and when it was clear we would not be able to get to the hotel and try to find the meeting place, they gave us great ideas that definitely helped us to guide ourselves to some spectacular sites. Helpful, kind, understanding.

My husband and I began our wonderful tour with Matteo on the first day that we arrived in Florence. He provided us with such a comprehensive overview of the city, filled with historical information and colorful anecdotes. Matteo also helped us get a sense of the best places where locals eat, and in fact, we changed our dinner reservations to an absolutely terrific place that he recommended that afternoon. Not to mention his helpful tips on shopping for leather, the best place to buy wine, and grabbing a gelato. Exploring Florence with Martina was a fascinating and enlightening little adventure. We strolled through the winding passages of Florence, arriving at several destinations, where Martina elaborately described the history, architecture and nuance of the sites. My niece and I had the pleasure of taking the “Best of Florence” tour with Zeynep Arzu on April 23. From the moment we met I knew I had made the right decision in choosing her. She greeted us with a big smile and her manner was very pleasant and easy going. As we had arrived in Florence on a holiday weekend, the crowds were stifling, and we found her to be a breath of fresh air. When booking the tour I had mentioned that I was interested in Florence’s history, the Medici Family, etc but my 19 yr old niece would probably not be as enthusiastic about these topics. Zeynep had no issues keeping both of us engaged. Her love of Florence was very obvious and infectious. Besides interesting facts she included little anecdotes and also tips which we appreciated. Zeynep was also aware of my bad knee which I had communicated while booking the tour. She was very sympathetic to my situation and kept the pace of the tour slow and easy, always asking if I was okay and/or needed to rest for a bit. This was very much appreciated! Thank you, Zeynep, for a wonderful afternoon! My niece and I will remember your kindness always. If we are ever in Florence again we will most certainly use your services again. Kind regards.

Matteo made the most of our time together, going straight into a history lesson about the founding of the city. He always managed to include small details that brought the lesson to life. He gave us a picture of the people and the times that always had a hook to pull the listener into the stories of the time periods and the people who shaped history. This tour- Kickstart Florence- was just what we hoped it would be. A good overview with some history and suggestions of places to go and how best to do them. We saw several new places (the central market was wonderful!) that we had not seen before. Dina was delightful and a pleasure to be with. Her English was perfect as well. We love how accommodating she was to whatever we asked to do-from getting a great cup of coffee, buying biscotti, to finding a place for a bathroom stop. It was not only an excellent way to explore the city but also to hear the story of the city because that way you create a completely new interest in the city. Marco was awesome. Showed us around central Florence as it was our first time in the city. Told us great stories that we never would have known otherwise (keep your camera away until he tells you whether the sculpture is the original or not - Dante). Gave us great tips on places to visit and how to beat the lineups. He even answered some questions the next day about a place he told us to go visit but we forgot to write down. Whenever traveling, I always look to see if “With Locals” offers tours in the city I’m visiting. I’ve always have had great experiences and this kickstarter tour did not disappoint. Zeynep is exceptional. She was on time, very pleasant, speaks English very well, and a wealth of knowledge. She spoke to us about history and culture and was able to answer our questions. She gave us multiple recs on what to see and where to eat. We really enjoyed our time with her. The Kickstarter is a must!
