So happy we booked this food tour with Ruari! We enjoy doing a food tour to literally get a taste of the city and Ruari delivered an exceptional experience. We had some must see places on our list that I doubt we would have had time to find on our own and thanks to Ruari we actually got to visit them. We really enjoyed all of our tastings and Ruari’s stories. If you are looking for a great food tour, I’d highly recommend this one with Ruari. He also went above and beyond when our flight in was delayed and met us at our hotel which we REALLY appreciated because we almost always get lost in new cities. If you want to enhance your visit to Dublin (or just looking for something different to do), do yourself a favor and book a food tour with WithLocals! …specifically Mydie!! From the minute our group met her, we knew we’d enjoy her company. She’s got a terrific personality and was very entertaining with her stories of Irish history and legends. Let’s see if I can remember everything…3 different kinds of potato cakes (a little thicker than our potato pancakes) with a glass of hard cider, then a doughnut, then a good-size portion of smoked cod & chips (they had a sign outside listing all the celebrities who had eaten there), then Irish Guinness stew, then a falafel stuffed with mozzarella and finally the best ice cream we’ve ever had. With this said, if anyone in your group has special dietary needs, they are happy to work around it. We look forward to checking out WithLocals food tours in other cities we travel to in the future. Ruairi was an absolutely fantastic tour guide! We loved hearing the history, cultural significance and personal anecdotes about each place we visited! And every bite of food he brought us to was phenomenal! We adored the variety we got to try and he was really attentive to adapting things if he found out one of us wasn’t a fan of a certain flavor (I’m not a coffee person and he remembered that when he gave us some guinness since it’s also bitter and turned it into a cocktail for me so I’d enjoy it more!). Not to mention his wit and sense of humor! We were laughing the whole way! We really felt like we knew the real Dublin a lot better because of his tour and highly recommend him!!Wonderful tour!

Ruairi is an entertaining guide. He has lots of colorful tidbits and facts on the local culture and its history. We had plenty to eat and drink and even bypassed the last stop in favor of the most delicious ice cream at Murphy’s. The stop at Sweny’s Pharmacy was an add on and he was kind enough to pick us up at the train station rather than the originally scheduled meet up. Ruairi was such a pleasure to have lead us on a food tour through Dublin. He came with waters and Tayto chips for the large amount of kids with us, and all of the places were prepared for our large group. The cherry on top was taking us to a Pub where we learned the proper way on how to pour a Guiness. Ruairi was an immense tour guide who told us some interesting facts about Dublin and showed us some great places to go to on our trip. Ruairi was a very knowledgeable guide. He took us on a 3 hour walking food tour where he explained various history points as we passed by different buildings or landmarks. He was very entertaining as well by sharing some of his own personal experiences. We overall had an amazing time, had great food and great conversation. Great tour! Just our party of 4 with our tour guide Mydie who was wonderful! We did a leisurely tour for 3 hours with lots of great food and lots of great history. Highly recommend this tour! My husband and I almost always do the 10 Tastings Tour when we first get to a new city, as we find it's a great way to get acclimated to the city. Our private food tour with Mydie was wonderful. She is personable and fun, and we felt like we were with an old friend. Walking around the city and going to several different food places on both the North and South sides of Dublin, was very interesting. We got to sample meat pies and cider, fish and chips, some very yummy fudge and chocolates and of course, to top it all off, delicious ice cream. It was a great day and we hated for it to end. This is extremely disappointing as I reserved this food walking tour in April and I arrived this morning in Ireland for the first time looking forward to this experience. Had I known this was a scam, I would have booked something through TripAdvisor but was hoping to support local. What a horrible let down. Waited for over 45 mins for an individual that never showed up and never communicated any alternatives. So far this company has been has been inattentive with regards to any follow through with a refund or explanation. What a scam and a horrible first day experience in Ireland. Scam
