We did an evening tour with Piyush and it was great. He was super easy to get along with, really relaxed and full of great stories about life and Mumbai. We liked Juliana. She met us promptly at the hotel and directed our driver. We arrived at a restaurant and tried some delicious Pani puri. Following that we entered a Maharashtran restaurant where she introduced us to a number of local dishes. We then went onto a famous local kebab place, which was the only true street food vendor we visited. Unfortunately, they did not accept card payment so my wife and I paid in cash ourselves. And then, that was it. End of “street food tour”. We dropped Juliana off at a mainline train station and headed home. All in, this was far from good value. We ate from only one street vendor. Juliana herself is knowledgeable and pleasant, but on this occasion, failed to deliver the experience. We had a much better experience when we visited Juhu beach and tried the street food vendors ourselves. an okay experience, but poor value

We had the best time with Gautam on the Street Food Experience! So much food, lots of sights and all guided by Guatam’s knowledge, passion and experience. We even got to take the local train to see the Gateway To Taj at sunset! Gautam is a fantastic host, took lots of photos and videos which he sent to us on the same day. Good to see another bustling part of Mumbai and market that would be worth returning to (right near Dadar station). Many sweet with a few savory tastings of ‘grab and go’ foods. Various types of pancakes. Pretty tummy friendly I’d say. Juliana is very knowledgeable about the foods. We found it all rather filling and couldn’t even manage one portion between 2 of us. I did. Some foods only found in Mumbai.

We had the most amazing food tour with Gautam! From gosa to lassi and everything in between! Gautam met us close to our hotel & after our first gastronomic treat we took a local train (what an experience - we would never have done it ourselves!). We didn’t see a single westerner for the whole of our tour, which took us through the flower market, past the pigeon house, down alleys, across streets, with so much to look at and taste. We loved every minute & every mouthful!What an amazing day!

Amazing tour—huge thanks to Piyush for making it such a memorable experience! We got to try so many dishes I had never even heard of, and the best part was how this tour went beyond food—it became a journey into understanding India with its diverse regions, cultures, religions, and more. While I wouldn’t call myself the biggest fan of Indian cuisine (and this tour didn’t change that), I still highly recommend it. I arranged to meet Gautum a week ago in Mumbai. Although this was my 5th visit to India, this was my first to Mumbai. It was also my wife's first visit to India and she was understandably nervous about tummy issues, crowds etc. Having done a food tour in Delhi some years back, I was equally nervous about tummy issues. In part hygiene, but the searing heat could also be a problem (seems to melt you!) Neither of us were concerned when we met Gautum. He took us to authentic, yet hygienic places. In fact, there was so much variety, we were ready to explode, but couldn't say no to any of the delectable treats. From chai, to lassi. From curried Iranian mince to Samosas, the food kept coming. Apart from the food, we were taken to the flower markets, with not enough room to swing a cat. My wife held on to Gautum so tightly, I was worried she had found a new man! Gautum, you nailed it! Your relaxed personality, knowledge of a city you clearly love and considerate treatment of not only your clients, but also (in my opinion, more importantly) your kind treatment of waiters (yes, I did notice you tipping them) made this a highlight of our 4 days in Mumbai. Gautam was just fantastic, he is a lovely, easy-going local with a real sense of pride of his country and its local cuisine. We had the best time exploring Mumbai and tasting really delicious dishes in authentic places with our wonderful guide Gautam. From the Saffron Lassi by the busy train station to the Keema Mutton fry at the old Irani place and the best Pav Bhaji I ever had. Gautam is a delightful host, born and raised in Mumbai. He is very proud of his city and he knows a lot of stories. He showed me the highlights of the city and travelled by bus and by train and it was really fun, as this is something a bit more challenging to do on your own! We went to the spice markets and the food markets where all the locals are. Plus he took me to several places to eat the delicious street food of Mumbai. Juliana took us to a variety of amazing food places that represented the variety of local food and Mumbai culture very well. She is incredibly knowledgeable not only about local food, but Indian food and preparations in general. What's sad is that we almost didn't manage to take the tour: Juliana had offered to meet us at our hotel, which I was very grateful for. On the day, she was running late on the trains, which is no problem at all and is part of life in a big city. However, we had just arrived and had no way of communicating outside the hotel, which I had informed her about. Still, she tried to keep changing the meeting place and wanted to meet us at the Gateway of India (impossible to find each other without phone access). Out of sheer luck, we managed to run into her on the street when we had already given up on the tour. I think this significant delay was a big inconvenience to Juliana (however, due to no fault from out side), which she made us feel during the last third of the tour.Amazing food, organisation a bit lacking

The concept of the food tour was really good and we valued the opportunity to visit various areas of Mumbai with a real local. Juliana was very sweet and friendly, she made us feel comfortable and shared her thoughts, opinions and knowledge on many topics. Juliana came to meet us and have the tour much closer to our hotel than originally planned, for our convenience, which was greatly appreciated. Many of the foods we tried were absolutely delicious, and several of the places we went/bought from were not places we would have considered visiting without her guidance. Juliana did know food and local culture very well. She did not however know much history of the area - which is absolutely fine as that is not what she advertised - but if this is something which matters a lot to you bare it in mind. Towards the end of the tour things lost momentum a little which is why I have given 9 rather than 10, as the tour started amazingly. Still definitely worth doing, and Juliana is well worth choosing for your food tour!A great experience

We had a great time on the tour with Mohan and he was a super cool guy, easy to chat to and spoke incredible English with us! The tour was 4hrs long and included a train ride which was awesome. He was great at communicating and super responsive before the tour. We didn’t however realise the tour was near the gate away of India and Marine drive so had been around that area the previous day already- slight shame as we had actually even eaten at one of the stalls he took us too. Not his fault at all but maybe worth doing your first day in Mumbai as you do get lots of information of the buildings and heritage of the city as well as the food. The street food costs Vs the cost of the tour is quite high but I hope that gets passed on to our guide. I would recommend and overall we tried cool things we might not otherwise have eaten. Would definitely recommend a day with locals if you are in to culture, how people live, urbanism and food. We did first the walking tour of Dharavi and then the street food tour. This tour shows a side of Mumbai you don't often get to see on tourist itineraries. And it's a shame, because Dharavi is by far one of the most unique and fascinating places I've ever seen. The sense of community, of people working together with one another and with the city itself. Many misconceptions exist about this peculiar place, but the reality I've seen is one of pride, of work, and of celebration. Shrikanth, was heel behulpzaam toen de taxichauffeur de afgesproken locatie niet kon vinden. Toen we elkaar gevonden hadden zijn we gelijk op pad gegaan. Shrikanth heeft ons in 3 uur tijd door de belangrijkste delen van Mumbai geleid. Het loop tempo was prettig en er was voldoende tijd om foto’s te maken. Shrikanth kon ons veel vertellen over de oude stad maar wist de info goed te doseren. Hij paste onze wensen zonder problemen in de route en er was ook tijd voor een korte koffie stop of een bezoekje aan een winkel. Shrikanth was zorgzaam en beschermend en checkte bij ons of het oké was toen de Indiërs steeds met ons op de foto wilden gaan. We hebben een fijne en leerzame middag gehad. Ik kan Shrikanth zeker aanbevelen Mumbai Namaste

Gautam was a great guide. We saw many aspects of work and life within Dharavi. We were able to interact with the locals with Gautam’s help, including tasting some baked pastries and playing street cricket with the kids. After the tour he helped me get on the correct train back to my hotel and I experienced another important aspect of life in Mumbai - train travel.Interesting and knowledgeable

Gautam was an excellent guide, very knowledgeable, great English, very accommodating and helpful throughout. He actually met us at the hotel and took us to the Dhobi Ghat laundry by local bus and then train we probably wouldn’t have otherwise experienced. The tour of Dharavi was really good and definitely took us to places we wouldn’t have found or been comfortable visiting on our own. Highlight was the Dharavi leather shop which was featured on James May’s tour of India on Amazon Prime and meeting the owner. My kids especially liked that they had AC in the shop which was a lovely respite from the hot weather that day! Too many other interesting things to mention, but Gautam was an amazing tour guide throughout!Dharavi and Dhobi Ghat Tour
