We got into Amsterdam in the morning and booked this walking tour last min for that afternoon. We are so glad we did! Christa was so knowledge about the city’s history and culture. She showed us all of the key spots and many off the beaten path, including great recommendations for museums and other sites. It was a great way to start out in a new city. We had a wonderful time discussing all things Amsterdam and beyond and ended with a tasty beverage. We had a wonderful time with our local food guide Olga. She brought us to restaurants that serve traditional Dutch food (which was my request) What I liked about the tour is that we were brought to restaurants were locals ate. We had croquettes, stroopwaffels, pancakes, herring fish and a lot more. We even tried a Surinamese-Chinese dish! She not only talked about the food but also tje history that came with it. I booked Tommi for a three hour walking tour of Amsterdam, and it turned out brilliantly. Tommi was on time at the meeting point, a good way to start. We walked a short distance to one of the main streets and then on the train station. Even at these first two sights Tommi was full of knowledge and information much more than just the obvious history. We went on to cover many other places of interest before taking a short metro ride and having lunch at a lovely old villa/mansion house. Again, he was very informative and amusing. He also checked in with me a couple of times to make sure we were covering things that interested me. Tommi has absolutely perfect English, and also showed a lot of curiosity as to my background and country (Australia). I would book him again for sure. Tommi is a star

Our decision to take the "with locals" tour was very much a last minute one and we generally don't take organized tours. This afternoon was truly special and memorable. Tommi met us close to Centraale Station and very quickly had sized up what sort of tour he felt that we would enjoy. We learned about the modern history of the Centraale Station and the impact that it has had on the general growth and evolution of Amsterdam along with how it fits into the support of the bicycle as the city's predominant form of transport. All of this in his interactive and fun style of sharing his impressions and love of the city. There were a number of hidden treasures that he shared with us.. that we are sworn to secrecy as they are after all hidden. We left the tour with a great overview of Amsterdam as well as confidence in taking the wonderful transit system that you have. We can only give him the greatest recommendation as an insightful and fun guide as well as remarkable person. Incredible tour, a truly remarkable guide.

We had such a wonderful time with Olga, who really went above and beyond on our tour. We had an 8-hour layover in Amsterdam, and I reached out to Olga to ask if it would be possible to schedule a tour with her in that window and make sure we still got back to the airport with plenty of time to catch our next flight. One small thing...our flight landed at 6am! Olga responded immediately and said we could take the train into Amsterdam (super easy) or she could meet us at the airport. We took the train in, met up with her seamlessly at. 7am, and she took us on a 3-hour tour that was a highlight of our trip even though we only spent a few hours in Amsterdam. Olga shared a ton of interesting facts, clearly loves the work she does and the city she does it in, and we are so glad that we found With Locals and booked Olga. We had a nice day, and covered most of central Amsterdam with Arunabha. We had asked for a tour from more of a cultural perspective. Arunabha was able to contextualize some of the things that we had seen in previous walks on our own and give us a an engaging, social history of the Netherlands. I don’t know how much he deviated from his normal talk for us, but we certainly saw some things that I don’t think we would have noticed or understood without him. Our day in Amsterdam was extremely informative and fun! Olga was filled with facts and sights that are not in the guidebooks. She was very accommodating with our 9 year old and modified the tour accordingly.
