Artur, our amazing guide, worked with us to customize our tour to include some places and things we wanted to see and do. He is very knowledgeable, knows the history of the city and sights, is well known throughout the city and showed us some wonderful hidden gems we would have missed if not for him. Parks, green spaces, canals, cathedrals, squares, shopping, waffles for lunch, beer, and lots of chocolate. This is a beautiful city and our time here was spent with a truly wonderful person and excellent guide, Artur. Deze namiddag hadden we samen met onze kinderen van 10 en 12 jaar een rondleiding in Brugge met Lavigna. Ze heeft zowel ons als onze kinderen kunnen boeien gedurende 3 uur. We had a wonderful time in Bruges with Igor! He has extensive knowledge of the city and its history, and he shared that knowledge in fascinating and relatable stories. He pointed us to some great chocolate shops, explained the history of Michelangelo’s “Madonna and Child,” and helped us understand how access to the sea contributed to the growth of Bruges. He was also very gracious in responding to our tourist requests, such as the best way back to the train station, and where to purchase headache medicine. Igor made me feel that I was in the most interesting history class ever! Highly recommend! Fascinating tour with Igor!

Xavier met us at the train station and we spent about 15 minutes getting to know each other before venturing on Bruges tour. Xavier talked clearly and was willing to answer all and any questions. My wife has a minor mobility issue and Xavier was cognizant and accommodated her walk within the tour. Part way through the tour we stopped for a brief coffee break and our discussions were Bruges insightful. Lunch (by our choice ) was simple and at a local sandwich shop. It was wonderful We saw all we had come to see and when the tour was completed we certainly felt like we had connected with Xavier. It was an enjoyable tour time with him. We had Artur guide our family around Brugge for a few hours. The way in which he engaged with us and the history of the city was outstanding!! He told jokes and engaged all of us in the stories of the tour. We also had a person who had mobility issues and he was able to move slowly and build in rest areas that tied in with the tour. I can not recommend Artur enough as a guide. We wished all the guides we had on our trip were as good as he is.Artur is magnificent!!!

Artur was a wonderful guide for our group of 8 (including kids 7-12). His storytelling and enthusiasm for the city was fantastic. Jay was one of the best tour guides we’ve ever had using WithLocals! Not only was he incredibly knowledgeable about the history with places and times and dates, but he was so much fun to hang with. Along our tour route we saw the most amazing buildings and sites and coffee houses and chocolate shops with beer tasting, food tasting, and a recommendation to one of the finest restaurants in town. He was so much fun, making us laugh, showing us a music festivals where we took in the local music and enjoyed the entertainment and food. The 3 of us had a thoroughly delightful 3+ hours with Ann. Prior to the tour, Ann’s communications were always super responsive. On the day of the tour, we emailed a final confirmation re: time and place to meet. She was at the meeting place on time … even greeting us with delicious chocolates! Ann is native to Bruges having been born in this city so she knows it really well. She talked about the history of Bruges showing us significant buildings and monuments, but she also talked about local customs and legends along with funny antidotes that made the city come alive for us. As well of the history of the city, she pointed out the best places for waffles and chocolates along with some of her favorite restaurants that offered ‘good value for the money’ — as she put it. Mid-way through we stopped at a great city brewery for some cheese, bread and great beer. Following the tour, we asked if she might send us some recommendations of other restaurants, which she did along with their weblinks, which we really appreciated. A Great Personalized Tour of Bruges

We had a delightful few hours with Jay learning the history and lore of Bruge. Jay was fun, entertaining and deeply knowledgeable. This is a great walking tour of the city and can be modified by suggestion (like the awesome wine store Jay took us too upon request). I had planned every detail of our trip to Belgium, so was thrilled to find this private tour in Brugge where I did not have to think about a thing! Thank you Ann for a wonderful 3 hour walking tour of your charming town! Ann took our family of 5 (ages 16-74) to all the spots I requested and then to many, many more gems. As Jay explained to us at the outset (parents with teenagers), he is a "Bruges boy" and his obvious love and enthusiasm for his home town shone through. It was a pleasure being taken around the highlights of this exquisite city and seeing Jay's favorite, as well as many secret places only a local could know. This included the oldest pub in Bruges (dating from the early 1500s and surely a contender for the best in Belgium) where he shared his expertise in (and guided us through the bewildering choices of) genuine Belgian beer. Thanks to his knowledge, we gained an insight into the cultural and historical significance of, not only beer, but also met Bruges-based small-batch producers of the highest quality chocolate which is so much tastier (and shinier!) than sold by global brands or in chain stores. Jay was at all times keen to tailor the tour to our needs and was extremely generous with his time and knowledge (including of food, history, geography, culture, architecture, music and more). Jay was awesome! He grew up in Bruges and literally knows everyone! He’s funny, knowledgeable and high energy. We learned a lot about the history of Bruges as well as being taken to Jay’s favorite pubs, chocolate shops and waffle shops! He took us down narrow alleys and showed us where to rent bikes, boats and which museums were a must see. Great recommendations and a fun tour that even kept my teenage kids engaged and laughing. I am so glad we booked with Jay! Bruges is a magical place and we got an insiders view on our 1st night in town, which is invaluable and saves time from looking at maps and asking hotel staff for their favorites! As 2 diabetics and 1 picky eater, we were a challenge for Artur, but had a great time on the tasting walking tour. It was a nice mix of city history and site seeing and food tastings. We didn’t eat as much as he wanted us to but was plenty for us and included chocolate, waffles, frites, beer and stew. By the end of the tour it was like old friends getting together over a beer. I would highly recommend the tour and booking with Artur.Great experience….
