We had an amazing time with Hassan his cousin as our guide. I was nervous about traveling so far from Marrakech without a group. But the driver and our guide made us feel comfortable right away. We had a very good time and we learned alot about the life and people of the berber villages. Had a very nice lunch in a beautiful room. Very worth the money!! Amazing trip, guide and locals!

Through Hassan, we had a great guide - Hassan’s cousin - and an expert driver - Khaled - for our trip towards the Atlas Mountains in and around the town of Imlil in the National Park. The guys were great and worked around my knee problem. This meant there were more stops than normal and we were very grateful for that. We had a tasty lamb tagine for lunch en route. We talked about all manner of things in different languages along the trip. This is going to be one of the highlights of our holiday in Marakkech for sure and I’d recommend withlocals.com to anyone looking for guides who truly know their terrain. A Magical Day Trip to the Atlas Mountains with Brahim! We booked the Day Trip from Marrakech to the Atlas Mountains with Ibrahim, and it turned out to be one of the most memorable parts of our entire stay in Morocco. The perfect contrast to the vibrant energy of Marrakech – peaceful, scenic, and deeply authentic. Brahim picked us up in the morning, and from the very first moment, we felt in good hands. He’s not only an excellent driver but also a wonderful storyteller. During the drive, we listened to Moroccan music, chatted about the region, and enjoyed his stories that brought the surroundings to life. We took the trip with our two children, aged 8 and 11, and they connected with Brahim right away. He was incredibly kind and attentive to them, always making sure they were comfortable, entertained, and enjoying every part of the experience. To break up the drive, we stopped several times – for a delicious tasting of argan oil paired with mint tea and local products, and for a visit to an authentic market in Asni. That market was unlike anything we’ve seen before – bustling, raw, and full of life. The kids were fascinated by the variety of goods and the local atmosphere. Once we reached the mountains, we set off on a scenic trek. It lasted about an hour and a half, but time flew by with all the stops for photos, stories, snacks, and breathtaking views. It was active, fun, and suitable even for our youngest. The highlight, however, was visiting the village where Ibrahim grew up. There, we enjoyed the most delicious and authentic lunch on a rooftop terrace – traditional tanjia, fresh bread, Moroccan tea – all while gazing out over the majestic Atlas Mountains. It was peaceful, beautiful, and felt like a true cultural exchange. Ibrahim knows the area inside out, and thanks to his calm, warm, and knowledgeable presence, we felt relaxed and truly immersed in the day. We’re so thankful for this experience – it was more than a tour, it was a meaningful connection with a very special place and person.Family-Friendly and Full of Heart

C'est Adil qui nous a accueillis sur la place Jamaa El Fna, nous avons fait une belle visite du centre de Marrakech. Il a été très prévenant et nous a fait bénéficié de sa large connaissance de l'histoire de la ville, ce qui a donné un intérêt tout particulier à cette visite guidée. Il nous a indiqué un très bon café lorsque nous avons voulu faire une pause, nous y avons dégusté un délicieux thé à la menthe et des pâtisseries. We did the street food tour with Lhoussaine. Our tour was adjusted instead of private it was in a group. We were informed about this in time. It was a great guide who really let us enjoy the tasty things in Marrakesh. Super friendly and nothing was too much. Even more information about other things you wanted to know. We did this tour upon arrival so that we immediately got a view of the immense city. I can only recommend it. Really a topper!!! If I could give him 11 out of 10 I would!!!! Our family (2 adults and 2 older teenagers) had a fantastic day out with Omar exploring the Ourika Valley. Omar was lovely company and a very safe driver, negotiating the winding and sometimes tricky mountain roads. Our guide walking up to the waterfall, through the brightly coloured cafes along the river, was also great. We got a feel for what Berber life was like, visiting the local market and one of the village homes for mint tea and a beautiful view. Highly recommended.Fantastic day in the Atlas Mountains

This tour with Lhou and Mohammed was amazing! These two guys love their city, know so much about it and passionate about showing it to its guests! We originally had booked with a different tour guide but at the last minute were switched over to Elhoussaine. We didn’t think too much of it, but when we chatted briefly I had requested for recommendations on where to purchase certain items from the souks. What we did not expect is for the majority of the tour to be through the souks. Other than Koutoubia Minaret, we didn’t see any of the sights (Bahia Palace, Bab Agnaou, etc.). The rest of the tour was focused on the “back routes” of the souks. While appreciative of his taking us to a couple of shops to buy the items mentioned, that is not the tour we signed up for. Not what we expected

We had booked the tour "Djemaa El Fna Square Market Tour & Tastings" for the first evening on the day of arrival. It was simply fantastic with Lhoussaine and Kamal, who guided us through the many narrow alleyways around Djemaa El Fna with charm, wit and friendliness. 5 carefully selected restaurants and food stalls gave us a perfect insight into the culinary diversity of Moroccan cuisine. Lhoussaine and Kamal extended the tour by a whole hour because there was simply so much for us to see. Highly recommended! Thank you both for a wonderful evening! Highly recommended!

We had the best day with Elhoussaine! He showed us so many beautiful places and gave us in-depth context as to their history and place within Moroccan culture. Having him take us through the Bahia palace was a huge highlight. Omar was an interesting and informative guide, who showed us parts of the Medina that we wouldn't have found, and gave us the confidence to return and explore by ourselves. However, he rushed us through the souks and seemed frustrated when we stopped to take in the sights and atmosphere. We were 20 minutes late meeting him due to our bus being late, but I had forewarned him that this may happen. His food choices were not the best for us sadly. Firstly we had a delicious savoury msemmen and herbal tea cooked by a wonderful lady, but the main five tastes at the next venue were greasy, cold and totally unappetising. We were then rushed on to share a mere six tiny sweet treats between four of us. We declined the soup offer after that☹️ The herbalist was good fun and entertaining, so all was not lost!memorable experience

Sadly our guide who I had chosen based on reviews, didn't show. We had an enthusiastic guy but apart from a stop at a bakery which felt interesting and special, there was not much en route that you couldn't have seen from a taxi. To have much more information about the city, its people etc. would have made this tour really great as well as stopping to see things you would not see ordinarily. Could be better

Our experience with Omar was just perfect for what we were looking for at that point of our trip. He is very relaxed and chill and from the first 5 minutes he makes you feel like you know him for a long time. Speaks perfect English and it is clear that he knows Marrakech like the back of his hand. This wasn’t just a fixed tour that he talked and we followed. He listened to what we wanted and was very flexible with the schedule and tour, because it was our first day at the city and we just wanted to get a general feeling of it. Also, he was very endearing and playful with our to young kids, which made the whole experience very relaxing and easy. Our only regret was that we did not book him for an extra tour regarding food tasting, but we will do that the next time we visit his beautiful city. We had a wonderfull trip with the brother of Brahim, Omar. Omar replaced Brahim because Brahim had family issues. Omar shows us a lot of local live, takes us to the local market and shares his Berber knowlodge. The mountain guide Moustafa did also a great job and we had a lunch at his family house! My family and I had a wonderful walking tour with Omar. Earlier this year, my mother passed away, and during our tour, Omar kindly helped me find someone to fix one of her belts — a gesture that meant a lot. He also took us to some hidden gems in the Medina that we would have never found on our own. I know that tour guides sometimes receive commissions from the places they take you to, but the good news is that the experience never felt pushy. Everyone we met was welcoming, and we genuinely enjoyed the stops along the way. Omar also helped us organize a driver for a day trip outside of Marrakech, which made our travels even smoother. Omar was a great guide. He made the trip extremely comfortable. Omar’s kind and caring nature and love for the place he grew up shone through and helped us experience the area in a more authentic way. Omar checked in before each stop to ensure it was something we wanted to do. There was absolutely no pressure on any activity. The Atlas Mountains are truly beautiful and show a different perspective on Morocco that can’t be seen in the cities. Highly recommend wearing pants (I wore a long dress which was no appropriate), hiking boots and taking sunscreen for the hike up the mountain to the waterfall - it is a bit of a climb over rocks and on uneven terrain.Stunning day out

I’d highly recommend Elhoussaine’s tour - and I just wish we’d booked it for the first day of our holiday as it was the perfect way to discover hidden bits of the old town. Elhoussaine took us to see the local areas beyond the obvious tourist streets. We tried food we wouldn’t have been brave enough to taste (sheep’s head etc) on our own, and ventured into cafes we’d just have walked past. We loved it all. But even more than the food we enjoyed an adventure with a charming, friendly, interesting guide. Elhoussaine shared personal stories and facts about Morocco and its people, history and culture as we walked. He was so kind in bringing a gluten free pancake for my husband so he didn’t miss out on anything, and he made sure we were all happy and engaged throughout. A very memorable and enjoyable few hours. We had a wonderful day out with Omar to the Atlas Mountains - 2 adults and a 15 year old. From when Omar picked us up at our Riad, he was friendly and gave us lots of insights into the areas we were in, and the way of life for people in the mountains. His driving was really good and we felt safe at all times. The walk to the waterfalls was great and our guide for this, Sadiq, was lovely and made sure we were safe when crossing the rockier parts. We felt very privileged to be taken to a family’s home to see how they live and to have tea, while Omar explained more about the Berber way of life. We were also very lucky to have booked our trip on the day the Berber weekly market was held, which Omar very kindly took us to; we were the only tourists there. As an extra request for our day, Omar arranged a camel ride for us, which was good fun! I would highly recommend a trip with Omar. We all had a very enjoyable and very memorable day.
