My brother and my two adult sons spent a nice afternoon with Barbara. She taught us the history and culture of Dubrovnik. Was able to answer a broad array of questions and set us up with suggestions for the rest of our trip in Croatia. Also suggested excellent local restaurants. Our private tour with Barbara was one of the absolute highlights of our time in Dubrovnik. From the moment we met her, we knew we were in great hands — she’s warm, incredibly knowledgeable, and so passionate about her hometown. Barbara brought the history of Dubrovnik to life with stories that were both fascinating and deeply personal. You could tell she truly loves this city and takes pride in sharing it with others. She took us to a delicious oyster tasting, introduced us to her favorite olive oil shop (which we never would have found on our own), and made sure we caught the Pigeon Parade at noon — something we didn’t even know we needed to see, but absolutely loved! I’m a cat lover and had brought treats with me, and Barbara went out of her way to make sure we visited a few of Dubrovnik’s sun-loving feline residents. Marko made the whole experience worthwhile. His suggestions and local knowledge ensured we got to see the best of Dubrovnik. It was a pleasure to have seen it through his eyes. He communicated prior to us meeting through WhatsApp and ensured he covered all of the things we wanted to do and see. He even used his own car to transport us around, which was spotlessly clean. An added touch was the thoughtful bottle of water he provided for us and he also treated us to refreshments halfway through the tour. What can I say… 10/10. Our experience with Vlaho was informative, interesting, at times amusing but mostly reflective and sad.. having served in the war we had first hand knowledge of what was an incredibly difficult time for the people of Dubrovnik. We cannot recommend Vlaho’s tour enough if you want to understand the way of life and history of Dubrovnik. Vlaho also offered other useful tips and information for the rest of our stay. .. including walking around the city wall’s.. a must do! Thank you! 🙏 and hopefully we will meet again one day. Our morning spent with Marko on a history tour was enlightening and we left with a much better understanding of past events. He was punctual, a great communicator and captured our attention during his tour. Mid morning we sat and chatted over coffee (our request) and asked him Qs about his life and that of his family growing up in Dubrovnik and about living through The Balkans War, all fascinating stuff. We chose Romana for our Dubrovnik guide based on her high ratings and were so pleased that we did. We learned a lot about her beautiful city during our time together and she was very kind about sharing insider tips to make the rest of our trip equally wonderful. Romana painted a picture of what life is like as a local during the tour by sharing information about her family’s history in Dubrovnik in the context of the history of the city itself. We especially appreciated her tips on buying the Dubrovnik pass, how to get to Mount Srd and how to use public transportation to get back and forth from Lapad. She also offered for us to contact her following the tour if we needed any other information during our time in Dubrovnik, which was so generous, and above and beyond what most guides provide. I would recommend Romana highly, and would also suggest booking a tour with her at the beginning of your time in Dubrovnik. You’ll feel like a local in no time. Excellent experience!

Our adult family of four toured Dubrovnik on a busy weekend day, and Romana made our tour feel very private and special. Romana was absolutely fluent in English and speaks faster than I can which meant you learned so much in the 2 hour tour. Everything from GOT facts and photoshoots, to the history of Dubrovnik, with some local folklore thrown in for good measure. Highly entertaining, educational and enjoyable. If you are looking for a wonderful, insightful and inspiring few hours in Dubrovnik- you must spend it with Karmen! Her knowledge and delivery are like a field trip for adults who love stories. She IS the hidden gem in this old town and everyone needs to know it! We had one of the best days and Karmen’s recommendations post tour were spot on. Karmen had so much patience with our 4.5 year old. Within 5 minutes they were strolling hand in hand chatting about Dubrovnik. My daughters attention span was not the best, but Karmen kept her engaged and knew when to move on. We had a private evening tour of Old Town Dubrovnik with Jelena and enjoyed it thoroughly. She is very knowledgeable about the centuries-long history of Dubrovnik and shared so much with us. Not just about Dubrovnik, but about the war in the 1990's, the communist period and its long history as a leader in world trade and culture. We learned about her own experience as a child growing up in Dubrovnik during the 1960's and were fascinated by her insights. Wow! She is such an amazing person and a really great tour guide. I would recommend her to any one traveling to Dubrovnik and especially recommend a personal tour. We asked lots of questions and she had the answers. She was very attentive to our own needs. We booked a 2 hour tour with Barbara. Comms were great and we met on time. Barbara walked us in to the old town and gave us a good understanding of how the city evolved over the years including souring the 90’s that was really interesting. We had our 18 and 21 year old daughters with us and she managed to keep their attention by making the tour very much about the people. I’m sure she had lots of GOT’s stuff but as we have never watched it we were spared. A great way to get to know your surroundings and get some great recommendations of where to eat. A great tour
