Personalized city tours with local hosts.
Aprende sobre sus historias personales, y descubre cómo pueden explorar Rhodes juntos
I was so pleased with my entire experience with Piotr. Not only did he guide us on a fantastic tour of Rhodes, but went above and beyond customizing our tour to our interests, starting the tour by meeting us at hotel and seamless communication before and during our tour. He also went out of his way to make personal recommendations for local restaurants and activities.
We booked this last minute on our way to Rhodes and it was a fantastic choice! Piotr met us at a fountain inside the city, and we spent the next three hours walking around the city with him telling us about the history of the city and showing us off the path places that we would have never seen on our own. We explored tunnels, discovered the red gate and even climbed an old windmill that overlooked the city. Piotr provided us with some homemade lemonade and also set us up for a beautiful lunch at a local tavern that we would have missed had we not known. Of course, we saw all of the known sights, but he gave us even more information about them that added flavor to our tour. In the afternoon we went on our own to the palace and the archaeological museum and it only added depth to our morning spent with Piotr. Highly recommend it if you want to spend the day in the old city and learn about its vast and interesting history!
Piotr was a friendly, knowledgeable tour guide. We had some amazing food. I would highly recommend him.
I have used the services of tour guides a few times in the past when visiting particular cities on holiday that were historically particularly strong. I knew Rhodes was, hence the choice to visit. And I'm so glad I did this time as well, because what my son (18) and I learned would take some researching, and don't get me wrong, I did in advance. But we would miss the story telling and the unknown detail, and that's the best bit. Piotr's knowledge is second to none. He took us right off the beaten track, which he asked if we wanted to over breakfast and we jumped at the opportunity, and so there the layers of the history of Rhodes Town were scraped away, one by one. Can you believe it, we ended up UNDER the old castle which dominates the city, walking through tunnels mined in the 14th century by miners who were kidnapped through-out Europe by the Ottoman's when they lay siege. That's not on the map. He also took us to the street where the Hospitaller provided their services to the knights of various countries and languages, them being segregated by language. Reading it is one thing, but actually having it explained to you whilst you are looking at the very long buildings, divided up as it was and is now, brings it to life. The fooderies we indulged were so typical of the back street Rhodes Town (I am told by Piotr) and authentic. If my son and I had to make the choices we ate, we wouldn't have chosen them. They were delicious! Do try the local honey. It's to die for. In all, a very highly recommended and well spent 3 hours, which actually turned into nearly 4 (thank you Piotr), and I would suggest this tour to anyone who wants to not just visit, guess and say that was good, but finish the day as we have and say that was a fantastic day and it will not be forgotten.
