We had the most amazing experience exploring the stunning Douro Valley in Porto, thanks to our incredible guide. Gustavo. From start to finish, everything was perfectly curated and intimate, just the way we wanted it.
Our day started with a scenic drive through the valley, and our guide's knowledge and passion for the region truly enhanced the experience. Lunch at a local restaurant was nothing short of delicious—authentic flavors and a warm, welcoming atmosphere.
The highlight of the trip was visiting two beautiful wineries, both offering breathtaking views of the valley. The settings were serene, with no crowds, making it feel like we had the entire experience to ourselves.
If you're considering visiting the Douro Valley, this is the only way to do it. We can’t recommend Gustavo enough—he made the day unforgettable!

Our tour with Rui was everything we hoped it to be. We appreciated how personable and knowledgeable he is about the city. We took this tour during the last couple days of our stop in Porto, and we learned even more about the city than we could find on our own. He was also very flexible given the sites we had already seen. Rui felt less like a tour guide and more like a friend giving us a tour of the city he so obviously loves!

Wonderful Experience
Helena was wonderful. She was very accommodating to our food preferences. She is a warm and welcoming person and was very easy to communicate with to set up the class. It was lovely to experience the cooking class in a local home. It is an experience you will enjoy while you are there and remember for a long time after.

Go With Gustavo!
My wife and I had a fantastic day with Gustavo touring the Duoro Valley from Porto. He picked us up on time from our hotel in a late model Mercedes which was immaculately clean and extremely comfortable. His knowledge of the area and of Portuguese history and culture made our conversation as easy as talking to a friend, which now Gustavo is. We mentioned our interest in tasting dry wines and we visited two wineries with tasty offerings of both dry and sweet. He also stopped off at several view points to showcase the valley. We took great interest in watching a river cruise ship pass through a very large lock, a rise of perhaps 10 meters or more. We stopped at a lovely family owned restaurant for lunch and it was so good! We had the goatling with rice for two people and it fed us all. Gustavo’s wine recommendation was perfect! It was a full day of pleasant conversation and we learned a lot about the Douro and Portugal. Thanks, Gustavo! I will recommend him to everyone I know coming to Porto.
