My husband and I were in Singapore for a few days and wanted to experience the Hawker food markets. Ang is very knowledgeable about Singapore and its history and was very generous sharing his knowledge with us. He was very thoughtful preparing for our tour together, bringing us fans to help with the heat, and showing us each dish we tasted in a book that described the dish. We had a lot of tastings and enjoyed the food and Ang’s company. He was very thoughtful and left us with souvenirs of our time together. Thanks, Ang, for a great tour!Enthusiasic Guide

Mr. Ang contacted me days before our trip asking about the type of tour we wanted to have. He then arranged an itinerary for us, a party of three, that was just the most spectacular tour we could have imagined. He welcomed us with personalized gifts! and then took us around the city by bus, taxi, metro, and of course walking through this amazing city, always making sure we had a fantastic learning and personal experience. He told us the history of the city, and his own personal life as we explored every corner, every neighbourhood, every historical monument. Exactly what we wanted to have. He was very funny, approachable, always ready to answer our questions, and show us a city he loves and knows much about. I truly recommend Mr. Ang to anyone looking for a great experience in Singapore. Minutes before leaving us, he made a comprehensive review of everything we have discovered in 5 hours, we couldn't believe how much we had explored and it is all THANKS to Mr. AngThe Best Guide We Could Ever Find

Ang was immediately engaging, checked ahead of time if any food dislikes. When I met him to start the tour, he was interested to get to know you as a person, interact and talk. He took me to two hawker centers and immediately set about getting an array of dishes from many stalls. He came well prepared with tissues, utensils etc for me to use. Got through many dishes (although many were sweets or desserts). At the end of the tour, he presented me with various gifts including a book of the hawker foods and he took time to go through and tag each dish we tried, which was thoughtful. Was travelling solo so was fine to keep up the pace of trying food and getting around the hawker markets but if I was with my family, may have struggled with the pace. Since i was on my own, the price was probably felt less value for money than if sharing the tour with bigger group. But was still a good way to spend few hours in Singapore and opening eyes to food i may not have tried myself.Hawker stall tour

Ang was a great guide for our tour. He ran to all the stalls, and came back with a written description of the items. When done, we walked the stalls to see where they came from.
Nice info and lots of souvenirs from Ang. Highly recommend the tour and tour guide. Fun food tour in Chinatown

Our tour of the hawker markets with Ang was great fun! Ang is enthusiastic and knowledgeable about both the history and culture of Singapore and it's very varied food. He left us with an illustrated guide while he beetled off into the market, which was very helpful when trying to figure out what we were eating. His food choices were generally good, though we did prefer the selection at the first hawker market. The tour perhaps could have been better paced, as we were VERY full after the first market - worth noting that a bite or two of each dish is enough if you want to get through it all (even if it seems a crime to waste all that food). Ang was very solicitous, making sure we had time to use the bathroom and wash our hands during our visits. He left us with some thoughtful gifts and fun memories - thank you Ang!Food, history and fun!

We had a delish 2 hours eating with Ang! It was a crazy hot day and the first thing he did was present us with "personalized" fans. Then he took us to two Hawker Centres, sat us down with drinks and cutlery (at a cooler table) and then charged off, returning with a parade great food. Tons of variety. Then he took us around to the stalls that sold it, pointing out Michlen mentions.
We shared over 15 dishes ( lots if food!) and learned all about Hawker culture. We are totally comfortable in Hawker Centres now!
At the end if 2.5 hours he presented us with gifts- such a nice surprise. Then walked us to the best MRT station for us.
It was a terrific afternoon- had to have a rest after!

Overall a good day. Interesting insights into history, politics and culture. Some difficulties with conversations outside these areas. Ang was very well prepared, enthusiastic, and gave us thoughtful gifts to remember our time in Singapore, and very helpfully took us by metro to the entrance of the gardens by the bay at the end of the tour even though we had already spent over 4 hours with him as we were unsure how to get there It was a very hot day and his itinerary took this into account. Enjoyed visit to private housing and roof top view, as this was definitely something only locals would know about. Interesting visit to market and to try street food, but felt this was slightly too long. Great history lesson
