Us (a group of 3) booked a food tour with Asu to get acquainted with local cuisine. All of us are coming from a quiet diverse background and have a basic knowledge on Turkish food and culture.
Asu has a very welcoming personality, which makes it quite easy to communicate. She made sure to introduce us not only to the local cuisine, but also to the Turkish culture of hospitality. Apart from our program she shared other suggestions for visits and new food experiences (including location pins 😁). All of us were extremely full and sated after this tour. Hence, we recommend Asu as a food guide to anyone who’s new, or not-so-new too 😊, to Izmir or Turkish culture in general.
The whole tour was filled with a cozy atmosphere, occasional historical lessons and facts, and obviously a really good food. She did not make us feel as if we are in a hurry or set timeline. It was great tour, with more than enough food. Very tasty local food. Asu is very friendly, walked us around nice places, on top of what we have visited with her, she showed us different bars and restaurants that we can visit. Recommending this tour especially for those who would like to feel the spirit of IzmirGreat!

We had a free half day in Izmir and we booked a late afternoon 3 hour 10 Tastings tour with Asu. Asu was friendly and knowledgeable giving us insights into the history and life in the city whilst walking between sidewalk food stalls where Asu organised a tasting of local food and drink for us. Although we had already been in Turkey for 5 days we experienced large servings of delicious foods and drinks that we had not been served before (we skipped dinner as we had so much to eat). Asu also gave us sightseeing and restaurant recommendations. The tour was a great experience.
